Takisha, I started my channel over on a new account, so you are probably not subscribed to it. I am having my annual live giveaway Dec 1st and would like for you to be there. Appreciate you more!!!
It was a great one! It's a rewarding harvest as well because they take so long to grow (120 days of heat). I've lived in 2 other places where I could have grown sweet potatoes, but we moved through both of those states so quickly (#militarylife), I only grew a few herbs, flowers, tomatoes and zucchini in those homes...oh, and in one of them I grew a baby 😉.
Hi! Welcome to my channel! I'm so happy you subscribed!! I really appreciate it. This was a great harvest. I feel very blessed. I'll have to come over and check out your channel too.
Thank you for your channel. Your sweet potatoes look just like mine. 🙂I had no idea how to cure them though and now I do after watching your process. May God be with you and your family.
That is awesome! I'm glad that you were blessed with a great harvest too! I'm glad I could help with the curing process. It definitely helps get them to their sweet potential. You'll have to let me know how yours taste this year. Thanks for watching my video!
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I appreciate it 🤗 . I grew sweet potato slips from a few small sweet potatoes that we harvested last year. There's 2 methods that I know of to grow slips, but I've only ever done them by putting the sweet potato half way submerged in water in a jar. Slips will grow out of the top of the potato. This is typically done indoors. I gently remove the slips and put them in a separate jar of water to grow roots. This process is happening during the winter and when it starts to warm up, it is time to start getting the little seedlings adjusted to the outdoors. So, I bring them outside gradually increasing the time over a week. When I feel like I they're ready, I plant them in the grow bags that you see here. The soil has been fertilized with all purpose organic granular fertilizer, bone meal and potash. As you know, from growing them yourself this year they took a minimum of 120 days of hot weather to grow to size. I hope this explanation helps. 🙂
Thank you so much for this tip! Unfortunately, I do not speak Portuguese, so I appreciate that TH-cam translates the comments. Otherwise, I would have missed out on this fantastic home remedy. Thank you so much!
Nice! What size grow bags are you using? How many slips do you plant in each bag? Yeah, glad I wasn't the only one thinking it "looks like an intestine." 😂
Primarily Daddy Pete's bagged soil products. I can't remember which one. They're a North Carolina brand. I may have used some Kelloggs soil too. That's the Home Depot brand that I tend to use when I shop there. As far as fertilizer, I use Garden Tone on everything. And on all of my root crops I add bone meal and potash. But I only add the potash once in the spring so it has time to break down. I hope this helps.

Thanks! I agree. They tasted great as well. I'm hoping for another productive year. 🙏🏽

Lol! I know, right! I used about 4 slips per bag. But it's a very big bag, about a 40 gallon size grow bag.
8:59 What did you use for soil. Did you add or use any fertilizer. Thank you

How many slips in each bag?
I put approximately 4 slips in each bag.
