- Hooks serve as a simple project that can teach you a ton of skills and ways to work with the hammer. This is one of the best projects for learning how to blacksmith and forge! Because of this, today I'm giving you guys a full tutorial on how to forge a basic wall hook so you can begin blacksmithing! As outlined in the video, learning how to make hooks as a beginner is valuable because it is 1) They're easy to produce and learn how to make! 2) They are a great base project to practice basic skills like flattening, bending, and drifting on! 3) They're easy to sell! Everyone loves a good ol' hand made hook!

Yeah man, show how to do all of it! Especially tempering, Heat treat and all the finishing techniques on knives and what you do to the hooks🪝 like oil or bees wax and stuff like that. I'm new and I don't know how to do much of anything except railroad spike knives.

Do you keep your forge on the whole time, or do you turn it off and on as needed? I just ordered the Mr. Volcano and am trying to find the best way to conserve propane and time.
