Snow brings a peace & quiet like no other time. In NY many yrs. ago we grew up with mounds of snow piled high all winter long (as it looks in this video). We had lots of fun as kids, & then fun when I had my son. But it has changed a lot with climate change & we don't get amounts like we used to..
I live in Helsinki and definetely lots of snow lately in witnters so I was able to even cross country ski many times in Helsinki streets before they cleaned them up and throwed sand
I've always liked the winter. It's very beautiful and calm, but to be honest, the older I get the more tiring the winters get with the cold, the darkness and all the snow. I live not far from the south coast of Finland, so luckily we get "only" about -20 degrees C for a couple of weeks per winter and usually it's a bit warmer than that. I don't envy the people who live in northern Finland with much colder temperatures and 2-3 times more snow. You need some "sisu" to get to work every day when you live there.
I am in NY so I shouldn't complain about snow, but I know what you mean about it getting more difficult w-age. I grew up w-mounds of snow all winter long (as it looks in this video) & recall the fun we had as kids, & then the fun when I had my son. But w-climate change we rarely get much. Even so, the small amount of snow & cold keeps me inside more now.
@@carolhayar3037 The way Helsinki looks in that video has been quite rare the past 20 years. I live a bit west of Helsinki and the past 3 years we've had a lot of snow (50-70 cm) and last winter was very cold, but for example the winter 2019/2020 I didn't get any snow the entire winter and the temperature was around 0 C the whole winter. So to get a guaranteed "proper" winter you need to go to eastern or northern Finland, along the south coast the winters vary a lot.
I love your videos, been following for a long time. One thing I want to point out though is the audio quality. In the sound when you are speaking, the echo is quite high. I suggest you to use a more "close to you" microphone, like something they use in TV shows to eliminate the echoing, so that it captures your speech and not the space you are in. Like a wearable mic or something. Love you, peace!
It is beautiull winter, but you think heating home when there is -20 or -30 degrees of celsius. It costs a lot and getting snow away when you have a meter of snow... not that beautiull
As a Finn, I'm a little annoyed by this praise of Finland. At the moment, not all Finns are really happy. People's happiness in Finland has been based on the fact that they have had the security of life provided by the state. Today, that is no longer true. The policies of the current right-wing government make the poor and those with low incomes even poorer. Their ideal is the American model, where only the rich have a good time. This is commonplace in Finland now. A couple of years and Finland is number 100 in the happiness statistics, not number 1. 😟
That is so true. Seems to have money to throw away everywhere EU etc.. but what is the cost. Making poor people suffer. It's big shame current Goverment
This is a political statement and let it be. If we are being precise about this, the previous government led to this situation. However, it can be said that we are still doing well. All those who are willing to work will do just fine. Even pensioners (including me) are doing very well. Sometimes it seems so ridiculous when people are so worried about us old people. But we have nothing to worry about. Of course, the size of the pension depends on what you have done for yourself before retiring.
I respect how you genuinly seem to love my country 😊
Kiitos Aivari ! Greatings from Estonia.

Stop bullshitting and admit you are just a salty leftist.
Go to work and you will have nothing to worry about, any job is better than living on other people's tax money.

Op stated complete left wing bs propaganda. None of it was true or was heavily exaggerated.
