I just bought a 2011 E450.
For me, the idea started in 1995, when a friend, and I bought a 1964 International School bus.
Our intent, was to travel with the Grateful Dead.
We did make it to one show, just as a test.
The Bus did well, but, unfortunately, if the good don't die young, they're living on borrowed time.
So, now that my kids are grown, I'm doing this again, but, with alot more experience, and wisdom.
Funny thing is, I was so much less afraid of the unknown, when I was 17, lol.
Love your treehouse bus!! For books and items on shelves, I put copper tubing through drilled spots at each end of shelves to keep everything safe while driving. It’s an easy fix, and attractive! Would fit your vibe perfectly! 😘🤗💜☮️

Your home is Beautiful and you both are a beautiful couple! You remind me of my young life! I was raised in the 70”s!. I’m now a young 64yrs old! I live in a 1980 34V Avion Travel Trailer 6yrs full time, with my two small dogs. I’ve always had the Gypsy/Nomad heart for our Beautiful Earth and I will live this way until I can’t anymore. Travel on! Stay Safe and Alert! Wandering Wanda!
The best scenic view I have seen on TH-cam. The sound of the waves so refreshing and relaxing. The treehouse color on the bushouse has that off road feel. Van build is very functional. Very cozy and I love all of the homey touches used in the build. A work in progress while getting to enjoy the journey. Love it!
Nice house, the color green and brown are so much better then white that sticks out if you don't want all to see the van.

My favorite part was Kiya's napping position.
*All you have to do to keep things on your shelves is put a lip on them. Then you wouldn't have to move very much stuff when you move.*

I have the same stove Yo will love it the glass door with a fire really sets a great mood and it will heat you out of your bus. Best thing is you cant see smoke coming from the stove pipe so no one knows your having a fire for those parking lot overnights. great job

Bus is the better choice. Trailers and RV’s are made cheaply for weekend trips and fall apart with full time use👍

Do you know back in the day they used to use copper in a lot of household things such as door knobs. It is known that copper is antiviral. So the idea of using one of the sink and keep you from getting sick more often. Very clever without them knowing that!

I think that your conversion is great! I grew-up in San Mateo my entire life and I think it’s great you guys purchased your bus from San Mateo County.. I love how you made your kitchen in front of the “Handcap Entrance” so you can have it open and enjoy the absolutely beautiful views..

This is amazing. We just put up a video on our TH-cam about how we sleep/seat all 8 of us in our Ford Transit for traveling. We definitely don’t have the kitchen and homey look you guys have in yours, but someday when we do van travel full time it will be 5 of us instead of 8 and we’ll be doing a whole build.

That's cool man. The first I thought I was watching a (and I ditest the word retro) video from the 70's from when I was your age that's exactly how we dressed same kind of jewelry jeans, tank top, hairstyle etc.lol Anywho I was just wondering so you don't have to hassle with taking them down every time you move why can't you just hook a bungee cord to secure your big pans? You would just need a couple eyelet screws on each end of the wood. I mean that's what I'd do I wouldn't want to hassle with that all the time I guess I'm too lazy 😆 anyway fantastic job with it and I love your art piece that you're working on absolutely beautiful.. I would do the bed the exact same way would not want to hassle with having to change that every freaking day! I apologize for my comic being so long!🐒💗

Lovely home you've made for yourselves. I especially love the door that open up your kitchen to the outside. Great idea for easy access to your water storage and waste for easy filling and dumping. Please tell me what the actual driving limitations are like. Lots of people say they don’t do well in mud, ice or rough roads but one couple said they had no such issues. I rode on one everyday to school living way out on a very rough dirt road that was often muddy, snowy & icy so I don’t get it. Maybe it just depends on the tires?

Sounds strange, but just rub/dip all the copper stuff in ketchup gets the tarnish right out. It'll look good as new.

Copper ages ... verdigris ... gets a great patina ... unless your spice lids weren’t actual copper . Brave to vanlife with 2 not small dogs ... the reality of living in such a small area with dog hair/smell 24/7 means you must be committed !

OMG I live in the Bay Area and I want to buy a Short Bus (the largest one that I can park on street) and customize it to travel on the coastline down to San Diego and possibly across country. How in the world do you go about purchasing a Short Bus?? Any advice that you can share with a fellow Bay Area neighbor, I would appreciate it.
not sure about Bay area but I know there are lots of auctions up north in Oregon that many people from CA buy their rigs from and then drive them home to be converted.

Beautiful build, but it's not a Skoolie. It's a SHUTTLE BUS conversion.
Difference is manufacture build quality. Steel versus aluminum and fiberglass.

not sure exactly but keep in mind it was done before covid so probably less than expected now!
You should make a Murphy bed w a couch then the toilet area coukd be used as a shower combo wet bath . I’m building a van for my son and the couch bed Murphy combo is awesome u can buy kits hard wear 200$

TIP: If you put a lip on that kitchen shelf, you won't have to move the items on it when the bus moves.
