Ringneck Snake

Cat had pinned it in the driveway (under some pine needles tho).
Snake never once tried to bite me, and was the gentlest creature.
Would not stay in the light, and lives entire life under the rocks and thick duff at base of north facing slope.
I captured one in neighboring lot (pre-)development site. Winter 1999, I found a {very} similar Ringneck next vacant lot over, Sunland Ca. 91040 near 210 fwy. Snake was coiled under rocks at the base of a north facing Verdugo Mountain hillside and on the edge of the La Crescenta valley floor. 1999 Snake was hibernating, winter, and non-responsive until warmed.
