    People... The Capo is not a Cheat! It's a TOOL. Allows you to Customize for your Voice and play in Any Key up and Down the Neck. Slide up- down- don't use it... It's all good. 👍

      Wtf

    • @EvaluateAssimilate
      @EvaluateAssimilate 5 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      @@greenmonster817 I think people assume that it is used predominantly as an aid to barring chords. They couldn't, however, be further from the truth.

      Eh capos make it easier which means it’s a good tool for less experienced players such as myself not necessarily a cheat though

      A trick that helped me was to pull my hand over the capo so my fingers come at the frets at an angle. I'm not sure if that description was good at all lmao. So when I'm moving from the D, I move my hand so the base of the index finger is seated past the capo (The side that isn't being played) and then all of my fingers fit comfortably. Hope that helps!

      If you play it in the original key using C chord progression without a capo the off chord is an E7 or you can play an E instead of the B7.

    • @virginiusmaximus7006
      @virginiusmaximus7006 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Anyone reading this and relating, you can play the B7 without playing the High E string and it will still sound fine. Either don't pick it, or mute it.

    Thank you so very much for your wonderful teaching style Marty. I recently made a copy of a Gibson J45 Dreadnought (with the Australian Guitar Making school) and your lessons have allowed me to know how to play some songs by the time it was finished. I play and sing 'Time of your life' and 'Bad Moon Rising' from your lessons. I'm learning "Fast Car", "Hotel Californiia", "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Hallelujah". I'd love it if you could do "Can't keep Johny Down" by They Might Be Giants. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! You're the bomb.

    Marty, I am your greatest fan, but not in an Annie/Misery sort of way. I have only been playing for 10 days..............and I am learning "Zombie" practicing my strumming sort of thing, but I love the picking. I have some amazing friends who are excellent guitar players, and they have been kind enough to help me out a bit, but your videos are so great. You go slow, which I LOVE......(and need). I NEED to learn "Halelujah" for personal reasons.............other than that, I am a rocker chick at heart. Thanks for the wonderful videos. I have looked at many, but right now, I need to stick to basics.

    Thanks for making these videos, Marty! By far the easiest to follow and learn that I've found. I am amazed at how much I've improved just in the last 3 weeks since watching your videos. I've been taking the first couple parts and playing them over and over and over until they feel comfortable before going to the next parts. Even once I get it, I continually play it really slow but over and over until the muscle memory starts kicking in I guess. I've learned more in 3 weeks with your videos than I have in 30 years. I guess when you learn something in an easy way it's easy to get inspired to keep playing. Keep up the great videos man and thanks again! From Soso Mississippi

    Hey Marty, thanks for the awesome lessons I’ve learnt a lot watching your videos. Anyway I’d love to learn “I’m yours” by Jason Mraz (finger style) I’ve only found one lesson on TH-cam and it’s a little hard to follow, your lessons are a lot easier to follow. I really want to learn this to play it at my wedding next year. Thanks man keep up with the awesome lessons your amazing dude.
