I had an encounter with Jesus and I wasn't even looking for Him! Back in 2008 I was into the New Age and such and Jesus showed up in a vision in a powerful way. I wasn't looking for Him with my whole heart--I wasn't looking for Him with ANY of my heart; but He showed up. Same thing happened to Paul basically. I understand what pastor is saying here, but it doesn't always work like this.
