Released in 1978, Mixed by Fran James. Female disc jockey aka Franny DJ Dean, she produced a disco mixer using part of her name FrannyDJ Dean and adding R for Records = F (Franny) DJ D (Dean) Records.
Thanks for posting this ,i bougt this record in brooklyn n.y at Record Hut on 86 st back in the 70s then i sold my collection finally i found it .... love it
It brings me back memories when I use to go to the clubs like Soap Factory, Brother 3 Disco, Studio 54, Roseland, Coke & bottle, Ipanema, Red Parrot, Under Ground, Reflections, Elegante, Club 364,
Thanks for sharing. frannydj1234 thanks for all the hard work. Your name should have been top center and f the haters. This shit has always been magic. You made my crowd wonder how I did it. lol.
The song right before the chorus of Hold Tight is the break of You Are The Music Within Me by Barbara Pennington. I'm shocked that no one has uploaded the 12" on United Artists here on youtube because those breaks are ridiculous!!!
ESTO ESTA MUY CHINGÓN . ME ACUERDO DE ESTE DISCO EN UNA MEZCLA EN VIVO DONDE TUVE EL GUSTO DE ESTAR EN STEREO CIEN . VIVÍAN MIS HERMANOS JULIO Y FERNANDO . YO ERA UN ESCUINCLE . COMO ME LATIA ESTE DISCO . Y COMO LO MEZCLABAN EN STEREO 100 . LASTIMA QUE ME ROBARON LA GRABACIÓN . ESTABA POKM . DURABA DOS HORAS ESA MEZCLA . EN ESE TIEMPO ERAN DOS Dj´S Y TODO A MANITA . ¡ MIS RESPETOS ABSOLUTOS AL QUE HIZO ESTO ... ESTO ESTA SUPER MEGA POKM ... JAMAS IMAGINE ENCONTRAR ESTO AQUI ! . NO MAMES MI HERMANO .... ¡ AMO ESTE DISCO ! ... ESCUCHARLO ME HACE RECORDAR COMO TALLABAN EL DISCO PARA MEZCLAR . SE ESCUCHA POKM

Thanks CoheteDisco for the upload of this great mix. I have this copy too, when I purchased this back in Downtown LA on 6th St 1978/1979. Do you know the name of the song @ 12:58? Please let me know, thanks again! Your channel is really great, keep up the good work.
EroticRhythm : I remember this came from the Donna Summer album "once Upon a Time" the song is 'Faster and Faster' That whole album was pure fire. "Working the Midnight Shift" was another great song from that album that was sampled a lot.
gracias por el comentario. te puedo decir que vi hacer un disco medley con aquellos viejos REEL AKAI. pegando pedazos de cinta en algunos casos. el detall esta en que fueron hechos a pulmon: play-stop de 2 seg. crazy solid times

HI EroticRhythm, Again wow! had no idea that it also got to LA I never got paid for any that were not sold in the record store that original produced it for me (what a pity!) But as I said it was all for the love of the music then and the "ART" OF MIXING!
To see the proof that Fran James was the DJ who created "FUSION' in 1979 and the story behind its creation search:- search: FUSION (Disco Mix) Created By Fran James 1979
wow! i knew it got stolen back then had no idea it went all the way to Canada lol interesting there was nothing i could do at the time because of the rights lol a bootleg of a bootleg
I had the same thing happen to me. I was just perusing TH-cam and listening to old mixes, when I discovered someone had pressed my mix to vinyl without my knowledge, and took credit (mostly Electro 1984). No lawyer would touch it because none of it was music to begin with. I got a hold of your record at a small record store in Dale City Virginia - but not until 1980. I overheard a guy talking to the clerk about what was "hot" - snuck over and just blindly grabbed two records from the bin they were referring to. I got yours and Funky Mix by Mach. I referred to them as "medley's" back then - he he. Are you still mixing?
COHETE THIS IS MY RECORD !!! MY DJ NAME WAS FRAN JAMES IT TOOK ME OVER 1 YEAR TO DO WITH CUT & PASTE ON A 4 TRACK TEAC REEL TO REEL IF YOU WANT PROOF I WILL TAKE A PICTURE OF THE ORIGINAL PLATE PRESSSING THAT I STILL HAVE. I WON MANY AWARDS FOR THIS RECORD I'm FLATTERED but a bit ANGRY to see it here, guess i should have done it myself YOU CAN LEAVE IT UP FOR NOW, BUT PLEASE LIST ME IN THE TITLE AS BY "FRAN JAMES" I could not put my name on it THEN because of SONG RIGHTS ISSUES
I based my entire djing career on this record. It's why I started spinning. I still have the original release. This is when DJ's had to go to Sunshine Sound to press on heavy acetate. If you are the original artist; you are a pioneer in our industry and deserve props for one of the most influential "plates" that started the genre before Bits & Pieces or Hollywood was even recorded!
I have this record. It is the best mixer I've heard. My brother bought it for me in NYC, a most treasured possession.
super job 100 points, with turntable nobody does it at the moment, everything is done by the team. 70/80 don't have a pimp..
Long live DISCO!!!!
