I suppose for an elderly person or someone really ill it might be nice to help keep them cool in Summer. But for the price, I'll use a wet washcloth on my neck. It's nice, but pricey.

I live about 35 miles from the Texas coast in the path of the Hurricane last week. We had power knocked out for three days. The time after the storm passes and the Texas heat came back before our power was restored was difficult. I have a 3600 watt portable generator that took care of my fridge plus lights and ran about 6 normal fans. But it was hot and humid and I plan to add an additional small window AC unit for my back bedroom that I can easily run from my generator. This item would be a good addition as well. This was my first Hurricane and we planed for three days of generator fuel on hand. That worked out of us but there are still more that a quarter million people in the greater Houston area with no power so I also plan to double the amount of generator fuel that I keep "on hand". -- I will check out this product as well.

Any electronic produces heat. Fans also produce heat, but they make you feel cool because it evaporates your sweat. You have to balance how much air you need moving around vs how many fans producing heat you have. Passive systems are more useful in that situation, like blacking out your windows.

    • @R_B62

@@vovin8132 I Don t think you have ever lived on the Texas gulf coast. Try 95 with a 90% humidity during the day and 85 with 95% humidity at night and then you can talk about black out windows. You would smother at night with your window's blacked out, air movement and ventalatuon is key.

@@vovin8132 in Texas there is no cold at night. If you open the windows it’s just a gust of hot air even well after dark or early in the morning. It’s not like other areas were you can air the house out with natural cool air, the wind is warm

Yeah you’re going to jump in and turn on the air conditioner or maybe the cool seatsif they have it. I could see someone using this and throwing it on them to help speed cooling down just a little bit before they get to the next customers property.

If you took this for the grandparents to watch kids at the ball park sitting on the bleachers would the fan noise be rude/disruptive to others seated around the user, or would you think it’s appropriate to wear indoors in a group seating like waiting at the airport. By biggest question is how disruptive would the sound be to people around the user

I wish I had one of these for hot flashes!! HA A bit too pricey for me though. Seems like they'd make it have the option to run on batteries as well. But, maybe it would use too many batteries? I have a disabled friend that I would certainly love to give her one. She lives in an apartment. Her air went out and they didn't fix it for 10 days. It was awful. She had to mostly stay with a neighbor when she could. This may have helped her. Unfortunately, it's just too pricey to give her as a gift. She certainly can't afford one.

At 1lb, SAR use would be good, but only if you have the space. I think this product is more aimed at, say, season ticket holders for the Atlanta Braves, or the Miami Dolphins. For that, they're probably worth every penny. For working outdoors, 2.5 hours of run time just isn't gonna cut it. Unless you're only using it on your breaks if you can't get inside. If they could bump that battery life up to 5 or 6 hours, you'd peak my interest
