I was surprised at how you really need to get your hands on these bags and try them out before you make up your mind. Which crossbody bag/purse would you choose? What were your scores?
@@PerriesPassport I agree. Trying them out is always better than trusting the item description and photos. If I need something specific, I often purchase 3 or 4 styles (and maybe different brands) and then do a test. Just leave the tags on and make sure there’s a good return policy, just in case it doesn’t work out or one of the others (hopefully) works better for my needs.
@ my husband always groans when he sees me “evaluating” a particular it by purchasing , testing (and the returning) an item in multiple versions , styles and or brands. He’s a “it’s good enough” even if it’s not as useful as he needs it. 🤷🏻♀️
@@tanyas6643 i agree as i do that too as long as the return policy allows for that. sometimes pictures or other reviewers videos don't align w/your specific needs so for me, I like to narrow it down as much as possible (using review videos, research, etc.) & then try out the various ones to see what works best for me.
Your reviews were excellent. As most travelers know, different sized bags meet different needs. I loved the Bagsmart bag as use for a personal item bag on a long flight. Being 5 feet it would be too large for me as a day use bag. I love my smaller Travelon bags for day excursions.
Hi @lynnevandewalle3829 ! You said it so well. Travel bags are so personal because we all have different needs. What people want to know, is does it has the functionality they need and the quality they want. The Bagsmart bag does make for an excellent personal item bag. It holds a ton and is very organized! I'm glad you found the video useful. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the comparisons! Love your channel & content. I have the Travelon bags ( and a smaller one too). Different bags for different trips! I used the bigger bucket bag in Switzerland to carry my gloves, knit hat and my Barefoot Dreams knit wrap ( that I also use on the plane). When temperatures change drastically as you go up the mountains, I’m prepared and pull out everything and put the wrap around my coat for additional warmth. I don’t want to be burdened with a bigger daypack! My husband uses the Travelon sling for every trip. ✈️🛩️🌍
HI @Antoinette-i5n You have a good point there. The bags do serve different purposes for different trips. I have never heard of the Barefoot Dreams knit wrap. Now I am going to have to check it out along with the sling. Thanks for those great tips!!
I have the smaller navy travelon bag. Mine is black. I use it as my everyday bag and for travel. I am on my second one and I bought a third as a back up during prime days on Amazon. I think it was around $25. That’s why I snatched up another one. That is how much I love it!
@@sandynbtx6967 I could get everything into the E/W bag. It was just not easy. The other one is still available. I just got it from Amazon. The names sometimes change. I'm not sure why.
Great review, Perrie. The final two for you would be my choices too. I like to have a little bigger bag at times, so that I can throw in a snack and a small purchase. You could almost use it for your personal item bag if you don't need to carry much during your flight. I always always carry a reusable bag, whether at home or traveling. I've been doing this for nearly 20 years, and have saved a ton of trees and plastic bags. (They are great gifts too) Sometimes I like to travel lighter, so I'd pick the Travelon bag then - and will have my fold up reusable bag if needed. In terms of price, you will see all of these safety features (and more) on PacSafe, but they will cost more than any of these too. All in all, you gave a great representation of what's out there. Thanks!
Hi @colleenc5008 I'm so glad to hear that you would have chosen the same bags! And WOW, what great ideas you gave! about what you take with you! I actually thought that the larger bags could be used as a personal item for some of the airlines that only allow such a small bag.
I have loved Travelon bags for years. I bought the small east/west bag for my last trip and loved it. It fit nicely in my under seat cabin bag which meant that I did not exceed the 2 bag carry on limit. I had my small suitcase in the overhead bin. It does come in some nice prints if you want a bit more excitement. Great review.
Hi @brendajohnson5525 I have to say, that I really liked the East/West bag. It was a very strong contender, but I ended up with the Travelon Classic bag. I love the fact that they hold so much yet can fit into my personal item bag. Thanks for watching!
This is a great comparison video. Personally I have to go with a small bag and sacrifice carrying some things because with carryon only the bag must fit in the suitcase without taking up much space and be lightweight. Also I did go to the travelon website and the prices seem higher than what you quote. Perhaps you found them on another site. At any rate you have given excellent information. Thanks. Happy New Year 🎉
HI @pamelagoodson9034 ! It seems that you and I pack similarly. I like to make sure that the bag fits into my personal item, just like you.The prices I quoted were from Amazon, if that helps. You can find the links to them in the description box under the video. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you found the information helpful!!
Hi @Asphodel27one That is such a great bag. It does hold more than it looks than it could. I probably would have kept that one had I not tried out the Travelon classic bag. Just a tad more room.
The 2 big bucket style bags might be great for women who need to bring stuff for smaller kids but don’t want or need to carry a much larger diaper bag. A few kids items in pouches… and then into the bag, keeping mom or grandmom’s stuff separate.
Thank you Perrie. I hate to say it but it will probably be the bag smart for me. be cause I usually get to carry my husband's stuff too. And maybe sandwiches. You are tremendous. Helpful and s real spirit boost. Happy New Year.
Hi @EveKrit-Anderson-ev3rf ! I totally get why you would want that bag. I think the Bagsmart Bag is a great bag. It's just too large for me (personally). Thank you so much for your kind words. You are quite the spirit boost yourself! ❤
Just a note about Travelon security locks. In a recent trip on the Madrid Metro, thieves were able to unlock the latch on the zipper on my crossbody bag without my knowledge. Luckily, I had my money purse attacked to the key strap inside the bag so they were unable to steal anything of value.
Hi @aigidh That is a very important point. These are not padlocks and so they will only slow down a thief but not totally stop one. Awareness while traveling is so important and you took great precautions to make sure that your money was protected. Well done and great advice!!
I own all 3 travelon bags feature in this channel and I love them all and guess what I ordered a travelon fanny pack to use when I take my dog for a walk.
HI @PilarFrancisco-Saguil Those Travelon purses really do a great job! I can see why you would own 3 of them. I still use my Travelon toiletry bag that I bought about 8 years ago and it's great (although lately, I have been using my Tripped one since it's more versatile). I have never seen their fanny pack so I am going to check that out. Thanks for the tip!

Hi @gangof4crafting328 I really liked that bag, but if you saw my everyday carry, you would laugh. It's barely a bag. We are talking about going to Ireland this summer. When are you going?
lol! Too bad we didn’t see this sooner. Did a South America cruise w my mom. She typically uses a large open tote bag when traveling as in those free ones we get at events. I told her she’d need a security purse & she could use the tote for things she could afford to lose such as things we buy along the way. Anyhoo, I got the travelin bucket bag. I love it but you’re right it is large. Unfortunately bc I did use it, I didn’t have time to return. Mom got the one u showed b4 that bag in ur video & she loves it. Perfect for her & what essentials she can’t lose she carries around. Overall, I agree w u on ur scoring and I would recommend one of the travelon brand purses to those who don’t use sling, belt bags or backpacks. Just get the size u think will best suit ur needs as travelon brands mostly have all of the security features people want & need. Good video!
