Big time but to be fair last time I was in Vegas Belfast accent is hard to understand. Add two 2 days of drinking into the mix and we have a Mexican stand off🍻🍻🍻🤯🤣🥃🥃🍻🍻
As a female sometimes I wish we were able to know what that feels like. If guys reacted the same way towards us. I've always wondered for guys what does it feel like to have these chicks screaming at you and about whatever you say or do.
....I mean, his family is ethnically Irish so even if he did say that he's Irish, then he wouldn't be pretending. Nationality and ethnicity are two separate things.
Yeah, that goddamn pretender. 200 years of mostly Irish people getting together and having kids. Strong Irish features. Considers Ireland his ancestral homeland and has great respect for the people and culture. They weren't even born inside those dotted lines! How fake can you get right?
JMB Pro when you’re from Northern Ireland you can choose to be referred to as British or Irish. If you’re catholic you choose Irish if you’re Protestant you choose british and atheists are often ulster or British/irish
You wee eejit, the Irish accent evolved in the North due to the Irish accent, it is far more ancient and so more Irish than it is British. And like so many people in and from Northern Ireland, like myself, are Irish only- I don't care about GB, so it is spoken by many Irish people naturally. IT'S AN IRISH ACCENT FIRST.
And being from California we don't surf to work. LOL. I have actually gotten this. Americans get a lot of blame for lack of knowledge but it goes both ways.
Omg one of my younger teachers who is Irish has always reminded me of Christian grey and i never knew why, and now I just realised omg Jamie dornan is Irish too ahahah
You would be surprised how many different regional Irish accents there are for such a small island. The way we speak English in Ireland has changed dramatically in the last 30 year. A homogenised, largely American form of spoken English has taken place in a lots of places around the country, especially having some influence on the plummy south Dublin accent.
Daniel O'Hare I say this all the time once you factor in the three main cities of cork , Belfast and Dublin the 32 counties the at least two or more you have for each of those counties add in the Aran islands as well and it's probably close to around at least 70-75 same as for Scotland has at least seven for the seven main cities add in the various highland and lowland accents , the orkney , Shetlands and islands of the Hebrides and it's probably 60 or so ! As you say for such a small country great variety of accents I know this as I have family across four counties and their accents are very different between them as I have some in cork , Kildare , Dublin and Tipperary if that gives any indication!
HeyThereBImHope I always suggest that show as if you have only watched 50 shades you're not getting to see his talent that or anthropoid with his fellow Irishman cillian Murphy whose from cork
Michelle Flood didn't watch 50 shades, but I have a fair idea about how low-quality sexual it is with a lot of "fan-girls". Anthropoid is on my list, should probably watch it soon! (Murphy is great as well)
HeyThereBImHope if you like cillian watch peaky blinders for a corkman he does a pretty impressive Birmingham accent which is a tough one to nail ! breakfast on Pluto , wind that shakes the barley , disco pigs , red eye and 28 days later all good viewing to show his talent ! But then he has two fellow corkmen who are just as talented in Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Robert Sheehan
My husband is from outside Belfast, we met about a year after he came to America. After over 17 yrs I still order his food (overphone) and he answers door. Thats the deal
Any Northern Irish people in the comments cringing at hearing your own accent? Just me? 😂 Although sometimes I’m a little proud when someone from our wee country makes it to the big time 😊
iggyrip Jamies right jack says it in jest it is something I've never heard a single Irish person of my acquaintance or any of my family in Ireland ever utter it's a stereotype much as I've never heard to be sure to be sure either same thing not every Australian says g'day !
I wonder who’s responsible for all these stereotypical phrases we just now associate with random countries. Like the Irish with “top o’ the mornin’” and Australians with “shrimp on the barbie” (that one blew my mind lol), things like that.
+Noah Barnley Well it's not really similar, seeing how you don't need a passport or and inspection to cross the soft border, plus people born in N Ireland can have an Irish and/or U.K. passport.
Lizbeth I'm sorry if my reference wasn't clear. I somehow ended up watching a bunch of Dornan clips, and learned of the reason for his shaved head right before I watched this interview. Yep...I went down a Dornan rabbit hole. I was totally projecting my own craziness onto others.
Roisin Kennan exactly it's just the northern Irish accent has subtle tones of Scottish tones to it influenced by the Ulster scot population and a different cadence and less melodic lilt as opposed to those of the republic accents of the south but all are Irish accents it's just you have around 70-75 when you factor all the counties and the parts of each people are from and then the three main cities of cork Belfast and Dublin add in the Aran islands as well and for such a small country you have a wide variety of accent much as we do here in australia especially between city and rural is where it's noticeable I have a different accent to my mum as she grew up in a country town and I've lived in Sydney my whole life . As for my family in Ireland they are dotted across four counties of the republic in cork , Kildare , tallaght in Dublin and Tipperary if that gives you an idea as to the variety of accents I have in my family !!
I can really tell Conans trying to get Jamie to do his American Accent and Jamie's just not doing
Miles Smith Because he knows it will get on youtube for people to judge. Maybe its not perfect but good enough to be understood in America.
nice
Miles Smith yeahhh.. true.. and actually I'm waiting for him to say something in American accent..
watch fifty shades of grey and you'll hear his American accent.
Miles Smith. Ikr
He already softened his accent for American audience in the whole interview
Yep.
Big time but to be fair last time I was in Vegas Belfast accent is hard to understand. Add two 2 days of drinking into the mix and we have a Mexican stand off🍻🍻🍻🤯🤣🥃🥃🍻🍻
Really
Ummmm he's adorable. Using an American accent to ensure a correct food order. That's a wonderful human being.
Tell us your a taurus without telling us you’re a taurus...
@@stefb2798 What does zodiac signs have to do with this?
It must be kind of weird to just have tons of screaming females react to literally anything you say
agreed
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
As a female sometimes I wish we were able to know what that feels like. If guys reacted the same way towards us. I've always wondered for guys what does it feel like to have these chicks screaming at you and about whatever you say or do.
Chennel K mind your own business your not a man your a women so deal with it
Chennel K 😅
That's funny. When at In-n-Out I speak exclusively in Klingon
Christian The W Huttese, because I'm a fat bitch.
well humanoid... this is the funniest topic ever
Tried that once ended up having a conversation with the teller
INTROVERTOMEGA I read that comment in Jeff Goldblum's voice.
jISop Ha'DIbaH ghIH tIr ngogh je!
Congrats on conan for talking about Ireland without pretending he's irish due to his irish ancestors from 200 years ago
Did you watch the video?
Geralt, Private Investigator Oh he does that too.
....I mean, his family is ethnically Irish so even if he did say that he's Irish, then he wouldn't be pretending.
How fake can you get right?
an integral part of ethnicity is language and customs, neither of which Conan seems to be observing.
Nice to see what Sheriff Graham is up to... (original Oncers recognize him)
Still pissed Regina killed him off. I shipped Graham/Emma before I fell on team Captain Swan.
The sheriff is dead.

I love how he was saying that food was something very important to him 😂😂😂😂
He’s a chow hound. Very high metabolism so he an eat anything just about.
@@pamelakenyon5052 He's said that if he eats more, he exercises more. Appears to be working for him!
Anyone else disappointed that he did NOT do the American accent?
Conan even tried coercing him into it.
when a fake Irish meets a real one lol
Conan is Irish though. He just wasn't raised in Ireland.
Jamie Dornan is Northern Irish not Irish
Technically he's Ulster/British as NI is part of the UK
Northern Irish

matt hansen ikr! 😂😂
matt hansen he lives in the same place as me and I honestly dont know why he says it cuz i've never heard anyone say it here lmao

Being Irish, I find this hilarious. And yeah, we don't say top o' the mornin.
And being from California we don't surf to work. LOL. I have actually gotten this. Americans get a lot of blame for lack of knowledge but it goes both ways.
That’s why he said in the video, what do think Jamie dornan lied
In Belfast the equivalent would be:
"'bout ye"
(How about you?//how are you doing?//Hello)
A man who understands the importance of food! 😂
I can relate to this so much. I'm from Belfast and I spend a summer in America. So ordering food was a nightmare
Johnty111 why is it difficult for an irish person to order food while in America? Thanks for explaining
Fabis Salvis Because even when we are speaking as clear as we can, Americans still can't understand us for some reason.
Shay Mervyn but we for some reason can understand what Americans are saying. Northern Ireland people infact, can understand all accents. 😂
I'm American, and Irish accents are easy to understand. :)
I can’t believe this. They speak the same language! it’s not like you start talking gaelic. Hahaha
When I thought he couldn't get any more perfect.
June V exactly
"Top of the morning to ya" doesn't sound right without the high five .. or the screaming
Marwa Ima Jamies right it's something Irish people never say it's a stereotype !
Marwa Ima well like me, jamie is from northern ireland not ireland they are different countries
Loopy Loo Oh god yes. You read my mind Hahahaha!

Wow aren’t you lucky

Why doesn't Conan leave the rest of his videos uncensored?

Priorities on point 👌
He's from Belfast in Northern Ireland and Conan did a Irish accent, they are very different from eachother
You are mad, Conan's accent does not exist anywhere in Ireland, and the NI accent is Irish.
As an American, I have no problem understanding most Irish and Scottish accents. You just have to tune your ear.
This is subtly just a Jacksepticeye Roast 🤣🤣
