I’ve been wearing press ons since high school. Opinions and tips, I have many. 1) don’t wear more than a week with only glue adhesive 2) file the inside of the nail before gluing 3) longer wear, put a layer of acrylic on the underside. attach with a small bead of acrylic, and use normal acrylic prep on the nail. I use YL protein bond as part of my prep for this. 4) always carry nail glue!!! Kiss and Makartt are the best little tubes to carry. I put mine in a ziplock in my purse in case the airplane pressure makes it leak. 5) carry a couple of extra tips…you have left overs that don’t quite fit…and a small file in case you lose one. you can always cut one down or buy 2 boxes and keep a backup set that fit in your purse in a baggy.
@@Raevarie soak. Cut nail low, take a file to the top coat to break the seal. Soak a cotton pad in 100% acetone. Cover the whole tol of your finger with foil. Wait 15 min. Check if its will peel off. If not put the acetone soak back on clamp closed the foil give another 5 min. Once off wash your hands good and oil them.
Now Makarrtt *knows* they need to have emergency nail repair kits at their resort with all of y'all there! I had to start packing a small repair kit with me. I vacation with a mini LED, small brush, TSA sized bottle of rubbing alcohol, manicure kit and a tube of polygel. Now whether I ever actually pull that kit out of my suitcase is another story 😅.
I’m a Store manager @ Sally’s and I love the press on nails! When I do purchase them, I always put a gel top coat on, to have them last a little longer. But they do begin to lose their shape after a week. These “XXL” nails are actually newer to Sally’s, and I love that they have added these to the press on nail collection!
Whenever I want press ons to really last, I get a semi-transparent style and use uv gel to adhere them. Reinforce with a couple of coats of top coat, under the nail and over the top-they’ll stay on for 3 weeks without breaking or losing their shape.
I love watching your nail applications. I had a nail pop off at work. Now when I apply press ons, I leave a little space from the cuticle, apply base coat, cure, then apply a very thin coat of clear polygel. After that, I neva lost a nail 💅🏽🙋🏾♀️
I buffed the natural nail, then glue down the press-on nail, then buff the top of the press-on, apply basecoat, cue 30 secs, then apply thin coat of poly gel, cure, then buff the poly gel, finally apply topcoat & cure. Sometimes I won’t use gel as a final topcoat, but just clear nail polish, because it’s just too much UV light for me.
I've worn pressons on vacation. I'd say keep it medium length. Carry extra nails and glue. Pools will def eat at them. I'd do what others mentioned and put them on with acrylic. Also, you can reinforceme the under side of the tip with a bit of acrylic.
I tried press on nails a week ago. I get tired of having to remove, then build, sculpt & design my nails. I used some cheap Kiss nails I've had for forever. I'm still wearing them (day 7) & no breakage. I've played tennis & type a lot in these nails. Instead of regular glue, I used polygel glue (you can substitute Base coat) after prepping both my natural nail & the press ons. Then I applied top coat (one 1 coat of Top Coat to avoid bubbles). Surprisingly, they've been very sturdy & I think this will be my new favorite way for doing my nails b/c it's far easier & faster
She could actually just do 2 gel topcoat layers and they’ll last. My nails 💅🏽 went for Louisiana to Hawaii and back and I didn’t lose any of mine nor did they break.
I just love you ❤️ you inspire me to do something different with my life. I had two strokes n left me unable to work. Soooo I went back to doing nails I'm only 46 but took Cosmetology in the early 90s learned nails using forms do tips are easy for me...so I'm slowly very slowly trying to build up supplies to do nails in my home. Hi sweetheart im a old girl 67, baby your ideas 💡 are great, all you had to do is add clear acrylic or gel to lock in the strength of your nail...almost like incapsulate them , they would last forever...love you ..I've learned so much..im real excited to get back to my nails..huggs
I love your videos I learn a lot from you so thank you.. I wear press on nails but I make them myself and use acrylic to put them on and they last till I take them off about 2 to 3 weeks and I clean houses for a living so I am HARD on my nails, I can't wear the store bought ones cuz they always break and the bling never stays on them.
Happy Belated Birthday Evie !!! Thanks so much for sharing your Vlog with us ! You and Hubby look soo fun to hang with lol and your outfits were perfect !! Couldn’t have clicked this video any faster !
Besides the nails .. love them but most importantly..that ring honey I need to know where so I can upgrade my set. everytime I watch your videos, the ring is all I see. I love it
You should use clear Acrylic it’s adds strength and they won’t pop off for 3+ weeks unless you soak off. You can lightly buff them like so light them seal with top coat. They will look even less press on like…. You could add a few small crystals. Those little touches will take you too the next level. Sealing them with a gel top coat would have protected them when you where swimming.
Happy Belated Fellow Leo🥳🥳. The nails are cute…but you know that pool chlorine ate away at the glue and the plastic of the nails. 🤣😂🤣But the most important part is that you and hubby had grown folks time to enjoy your vacation…Hope you had a great time…How about trying the new nail glue gel voy Vettsy or Saivland. I use it on gel full covers and Sis…nails are locked down FOREVER😂🤣😂
These are so cute! I wasn't aware of these but I will definitely get to Sally's to check them out! Especially since I know they fit your nail beds which are very similar to mine.
You use the clear acrylic in place of the nail glue? Do you just put the acrylic on your nail and then quickly put the press on nail on top of the acrylic?
Was waiting for you to post. You probably should have tried using full cover nails for your trip. Still would have been quick but it wouldn’t have broken like that press on did. Just a thought
I'm surprised the rest was still on I thought the rest was gonna pop off by now but nope only the two index fingers that means them nails is not bad but chiille.
They look so cute. What i do is put polygel over the press ons and one little tip you should put the press on nail from the cuticle go down taking out the air bubbles
I just did my nails w\ kiss, not press on's but full coverage tips, I had the same issues your having, I had to file down almost every finger. It was my 1st time doing a set of nails like this, I'm pretty proud of myself but watching your videos gave me confidence, I actually did a ombre French manicure w\ flowers on index & middle & gem stones & caviar beads at the cuticle base I wish I could send you pics, they came out so good. Those nails are pretty sweet your wearing too. I hope I can make 2wks, I've been too anxious & end up messing w\ my nails after a WK.
Ive been seeing alot of press on hacks for durability where you put nail glue underneath the tips and dip it in clear dip powder to protect them from breaking! :)
I feel like (other than the broken ones) there was nothing so bad that a nail file couldn't handle. And I don't know of any press on nails that can handle hours in a pool. Acrylic and gel sets would start acting up under that kind of stress. So, I think u did well Evie! Bravo 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I’ve had nails last for 3 weeks and I wore them on my vacation and went to 7 different beaches. It’s about the quality of the press ons. They don’t make drugstore nails to last longer than 14 days max.
@@juliamarie7843 definitely! I’ve found the the pressons I get at the store are usually thin enough but if I ever do custom ones I might use acrylic if they’re too dark!
I know this video is old and I actually watched it when you first put it on there but I could not find those nails anywhere but recently I found them at Sally's like you said but they didn't have them before and for me they actually have been working out really really great I've had them on for like 2 weeks no breaks no chips no nothing but I did use gel glue and that's how I put mines on don't know if you're probably even see this cuz this is so old but I used to put these on and they are lasting I used the tube one that was a little bit more solid and I also put top coat on them even though they kind of look like they already had top coat on them I did it again and they are lasting
They look good. Good try, I traveled with press on- recently that lasted 3 weeks but I prepped them like you would do with full coverage. I used gel to secure them and used top coat under the nail for added sturdiness. I used this application on the clear like ones because the lamp could penetrate thru to cure the gel. I got some colored ones which I haven't tried this technique but I will for fun. Its a quick nail job for a quick trip or outing. Try that application and see the longevity you may get.
I'm a mom of three and I work. I've tried just about every press on nail and their glues I've even tried using Builder gel on clear press on nails and an LED light to cure it.... for busy moms on the go and doing household things and other things pop on now it's just don't stay you're lucky to get a day out of them. And then carry a bottle of glue around trying to keep them on I rather just get my nails done from the salon and decorate them out but these look really nice
Idk if this is a faux pas but could you use a small amount of clear acrylic to glue the press on onto your real nail instead of nail glue so that they last longer?
I attach my press on-site with acrylic my left hand lasts at least 2 weeks. That right hand almost always has 1 mail that lifts after a week. Could be the application, I’m a total amateur.
YES YES YES, I love them!!!! I had a different design same length, brand and wore them for almost two weeks.(I used KDS glue) I start school this week and planned on buying those exact ones😍!!
I can’t believe you wore press-on nails to a Makartt function! I always have nail glue and a file in my purse for fixing breaks when I’m out. My OCD would have been screaming if I had to go a couple of days without fixing my nails. Thanks for sharing though. ❤️😅
I don't have time to ho to the salon so I wear glue ons. So lpng as you prep right, I wear mine for up to three weeks. No broken or popped off nails. Buff clean up your nails, wash your hands thoroughly, use alchohol as a final cleaner and touch the fakenails as little as possible during application to keep oil to an absolute minimum. I reccomend you put the glue on the fake nail and firmly press with all around pressure for 5 seconds
Oh my gosh I am devastated right now, I was the earliest I had ever been and I was like Mom! Mom! Can I please comment on Evie’s video?!?!? And she says yes, so I go to comment and as I was in the middle of typing the tablet dies! 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫! I love those nails and your hair 😍😍😍😍
I think it's the chlorine or the muratic acid in pool water that takes out press on nails. I swim A LOT and finally came to the conclusion I can't wear press ons in the pool, even with nail glue, it's like the plastic starts dissolving. Those are really cute though!
Because these are actually long nails, I think if u would have put them with clear acrylic it wouldnt have broke in the middle, love the length of these❤️💖
I intentionally make my nails janky like that!🤣 I have really long middle/ring/pinkie nails, but I keep my thumbs and index fingernails super short, because I have to use them a LOT at my business and need their full dexterity!🤷♀️😁
I think gel glue and a gel top layer would've added some durability. I'm also in the habit of keeping some nail glue and a file when I travel just in case. I have travelled with the beetles and makartt full cover tips with no issue.
Evie I would love to see you try applying these pre-design press on nails from wherever wit solid nail glue gel like from both pretty or even wit base gel? These woulda worked I think cuz there partially translucent Or another trick to made them stronger & maybe not do the round out thing over time is to cap em wit clear acrylic or gel real fast?? Jus ideas
You should try the press on acrylics! They’re more durable and you get a longer wear with them! They’re just like acrylics but not at the same time and they’re my go to nails!!
Thanks for your updates on these! I like wearing the press on ones once and awhile but I also made the mistake of wearing them on vacation thinking it would be easier, nope! Lol I lost one, the water destroyed them and nope, Never again! 😆
Those are translucent enough that you can adhere them with gel and the light. You can also do a builder gel topcoat and Young nails non-yellowing topcoat and it makes them stronger. You would do the nails like you do a gel nail kit. Try that next time
I work for a Sally's and I hated these press ons by nailbliss. They were so thin and just popped right off after I put them on. I do my own nails, so this wasn't user error. I just stick to doing my own nails now lol. But these and a few other new nailbliss designs came out recently, so maybe they're better quality.

Best way to take them off and get rid of glue once youre done wearing them?
@@rses916 you can soak ur nails in acetone and they should just pop off
Can I ask what method you use to take them off if you use acrylic to adhere them? 😊🙏🏻

Right I was on time as well.😂❤️😍
I think it's the chlorine or the muratic acid in pool water that takes out press on nails. I swim A LOT and finally came to the conclusion I can't wear press ons in the pool, even with nail glue, it's like the plastic starts dissolving. Those are really cute though!
Because these are actually long nails, I think if u would have put them with clear acrylic it wouldnt have broke in the middle, love the length of these❤️💖
Have you ever been nominated for the American Influencer Awards? You have such a good channel. I appreciate your press on nail videos lately.
The nails are super cute. Maybe you should’ve tried putting them on with builder gel or acrylic. Or you could’ve covered them with either of those.
I intentionally make my nails janky like that!🤣 I have really long middle/ring/pinkie nails, but I keep my thumbs and index fingernails super short, because I have to use them a LOT at my business and need their full dexterity!🤷♀️😁
You should’ve gone to Tabytha!!!! She lives in the Dallas area! 💕 I live 5 hours from Dallas, I’m glad you had a good time in Tx😎🥰
That would’ve been such a cool video! Cause y’all both do TH-cam!! And both are such an inspiration!🥰 your videos always make my day better!!
I noticed a lot of press ons are only so thick but if u put clear nail gel on top as if ur doing nails nails it will last longer like acrylics
omg would love to see this set with a gold outline that would be cute
I think gel glue and a gel top layer would've added some durability. I'm also in the habit of keeping some nail glue and a file when I travel just in case. I have travelled with the beetles and makartt full cover tips with no issue.
Evie I would love to see you try applying these pre-design press on nails from wherever wit solid nail glue gel like from both pretty or even wit base gel? These woulda worked I think cuz there partially translucent
Or another trick to made them stronger & maybe not do the round out thing over time is to cap em wit clear acrylic or gel real fast?? Jus ideas
I enjoy watching your channel
You should try the press on acrylics! They’re more durable and you get a longer wear with them! They’re just like acrylics but not at the same time and they’re my go to nails!!
Where can I get something like that from
@@nikoyia16 Kiara Sky sells them now
I have been getting into press ons lately so these types of videos are really helpful to me, thanks😊💗
