Volyn massacre In the past, Ukrainian and Polish families in Volyn lived without major conflicts. However, at one moment, units of the SS arrived in the villages where Polish families resided and ordered them to gather their belongings within an hour. Less than two months later, they arrived at settlements near Hrubieszów, marking the beginning of the creation of Himmlerstadt, a new homeland for representatives of the "superior race." More specifically, it consisted of Volksdeutsche from territories such as Romania, Bessarabia, Bosnia, Slovenia, and so on. What is Himmlerstadt? It is a small part of the larger Generalplan OST, which involved the expulsion and extermination of the Polish population and replacing it with Germans. The SS Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler was the inspiration behind the plan. Generalplan OST was developed between 1941 and 1942, and its implementation began in the autumn of 1942. SS Gruppenführer Globocnik personally oversaw the operations in Zamość and Hrubieszów. The Germans had studied the history of the region where they began to operate very well. And this is the junction between Volyn and Kholmshchyna, the Rus' land of the kingdom (Galicia) for whose heritage the Poles fought for many centuries. The Germans recognized that the area was ethnically diverse, populated by Ukrainians and Poles in different proportions. They appointed Ukrainian elders in Polish villages and Polish elders in Ukrainian villages, as well as in the police force. This fueled the tension and conflict. In one night, the Germans knocked on the doors of Polish and Ukrainian families. Polish and Ukrainian families were evicted from their homes. However, Ukrainian families were resettled in houses where Poles used to live. The Germans knew that the Polish Home Army (Krajowa) operated in Polish territory. They used Ukrainians as a pretext. The Poles, on the other hand, were either sent to concentration camps or forced to work in Germany, but not all of them. Potentially dangerous individuals were killed. There was a program called "Germanization" for children. These repressions resulted in the deaths of approximately 120,000 Poles, while 23,000 Ukrainians were displaced from their homes to Polish houses. It's not difficult to understand what happened next. In the first night, Polish partisans attacked Polish villages where forcibly resettled Ukrainians lived. Many Ukrainians were killed, and others were evicted. Ukrainian partisans from the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) learned about this and a true massacre began. Neither the Poles nor the Ukrainians knew about the German plan. Later, the Moscow authorities got involved, trying to escalate the conflict even further, so that both sides would exhaust each other, and in case of victory over Hitler, they could claim the territories of 1939.
@@fernandor8186 A) Germans planned the whole massacre B) still doesn’t change the fact that Polish partisans began the killing by killing a lot of Ukrainian civilians too

Everyone who remembers Poland when it comes to Bandera, do not forget that it was not Bandera, but the USSR and Germany, Stalin and Hitler, Russians and Germans who started the Second World War with the division of Poland itself. They even held joint parades and were ready to divide Europe among themselves, until Hitler wanted more and then attacked the USSR. Bandera did nothing of the kind, and even this was not part of his plans.
Stepan Bandera is a murderer of children and women! Organizer of mass murders of Poles and Jews. Check out the Volyn massacre. Ukrainian Polizei on the orders of the SS, killed communists, Jews and their families.

Yes, very bad what happened. I’m Ukrainian myself and I really think Ukrainian government needs to own up to what Bandera did to Poland if they want to keep Poland as an ally. Very disgraceful he is still honoured today.
As a pole I think more people should actually read about who Bandera was, while yes many things that are said are true, its miscontruded that he ordered any of the massacres. He was locked in a concentration camp the entire time period of the massacres, he had only come out afterwards. Its also notes he had disagreements with Shukevych about the direction of the UPA. I recommend watching „The borderline Hrubrieszow Operation”, it tells the story of the time the UPA and a smaller polish militant group collaborated to run the soviets out of hrubrieszow, not only that but you hear from both sides one polish and one ukranian. If you have an hour I seriously suggest watching it. That being said Bandera was definetly not a good person but not vastly different than other nationalists at the time.
Look at polish sources if you want you’re gonna get the same answers in regards to Banderas involvement. Im not sure why Bandera is the one everyones so concerned over, shukhevych and Mykola Lebed (especially him) were litterally directly involved.
Stepan Bandera is a Ukrainian nationalist who created a partisan army (1942-1950) fighting for the independence of Ukraine. But they really didn’t like Poles and Russians. They staged the Volyn massacre in which many Poles died. "Our Father Bandera" is dedicated Banderu.
If you say UPA is Fascist. then you say Indonesian Armed Forces is also a fascist, because the TNI was born from a Fascist Military Organization founded by the Japanese called PETA, then after Japan surrendered PETA disarmed all Japanese weapons and then rebelled against the Japanese occupation and used ex-Japan weapons to fight against the allies, Britain and the Netherlands. After that PETA changed its name to BKR then TKR and became TNI. TKR fighters also received a lot of slander from the Dutch imperialists during the so-called "Masa Bersiap" period when the descendants of the Dutch were "persecuted" by Indonesian fighters, even though the Dutch had committed genocide against the Indonesian population during the 350 years of colonialism. So as an Indonesian, the history of UPA is interesting to me because it is almost the same as our history.
Yeah as Indonesian I feel the strong connection to Ukrainian nationalism thus have this kind of strange sympaty towards OUN and Bandera. Stepan Bandera basically just Soekarno without presidential power (as he didn't success made an independence country like Indonesia).

@@rexo14569 "yeah, we attacked and occupated ukranian lands and then repressed and used terror against ukrainains in 1930. Why are you so evil? We are peaceful"
For someone who doesn't know, red and black flag is created by adding blood to normal ukranian flag - it meant blood of fallen fighters for existence of Ukrainian country or just suffering of ukranian people during occupation of UPR. In my opiniop, it would be much better to show the map of all ukrainian resistance during WW2 from Zakerzonia to Kuban( even as dots), because it has meaning to context. I hope the modern historians will eventually completely highlight this topic, because the whole representation of UPA movement is the main contradiction in whole Ukrainian-Polish relationship, while Polish politicians speculate on it by imagining numbers of the Volyn tragedy (my favourite is when president Duda stated about ~100 000 slaughted poles and ~5 000 killed ukranians, even when polish historians still can't prove completely ~60 000 casualties in polish side) and our Ukrainian government can't finance enough universities that could fully clear all lies of our history and finally complete the historiography.

@@kyso4ek_w384First of all Ukraine has erected multiple Statues to Stepan Bandera, Roman Shukhevich, Dmytro Klyachkivsky and Yaroslav Stetsko. Bandera's ideology was of an ethnically pure Ukrainian state where all non Ukrainians would have been purged, this included Poles, jews and Russians. He was very antisemitic. He was Leader of the OUN that collaborated with the nzis in the Ukrainian holocaust, members of OUN also participated in Babi Yar, where thousands where killed, this is also confirmed by survivors like David Ayzemberg. He was imprisoned after his alliance with the Nzis because he declared independence without asking German permission, but lived in comfortable conditions, even being able to communicate with the outside world. During his imprisonment he wrote to Alfred Rosenberg, the Reich Minister for the Occupied Eastern Territories - in his letter, he offered cooperation and stated that Ukrainian nationalists were predisposed to help the Nazis because they had been "formed in a spirit similar to National Socialist ideas". He was freed in 1944 and collaborated with the Nzis until the end of the war when he fled to West Germany. His nzi ideology had these caratheristics already before the start of the war. Roman Shukhevich was a member of the Nachtingall battalion of Nzi germany, later commanded the UPA, responsible of the Galicia-Volhynia massacre of 150k Poles and Jews. In 2016 the Parliament of Poland recongnized the massacre as genocide. He was also posthumousely awarded the highest military decorations. Dmytro Klyachkivsky was a member of the OUN close to Bandera, commander of the UPA and is regarded as one of the initatiors of the Galicia-Volhynia massacre, was his directive, issued in mid-1943, that ordered the extermination of the Polish population across the province. It reads "We should undertake the great action of the liquidation of the Polish element. As the German armies withdraw, we should take advantage of this convenient moment for liquidating the entire male population in the age from 16 up to 60 years. Villages and settlements situated next to the large forests should disappear from the face of the earth." However records show that the majority of victims were women and children. Yaroslav Stetsko, first head of the Ukrainian state. In the Proclamation of the Ukrainian state it says : "The newly formed Ukrainian state will work closely with National-Socialist Germany under the leadership of its leader Adolf Hitler which is forming a new order in Europe and the world" He also said" I insist on the extermination of the Jews and the need to adapt German methods Of exterminating Jews in Ukraine" He was one of the instigators of the Lviv pogroms. Slogans used in those pogroms include "Long live Adolf Hitler and Stepan Bandera - death to the Jews and the Communists." And "Take up your weapons, destroy the enemy: Moscow, the Hungarians, the Jews. Destroy them". The OUN's brutal methods were apparent as the "Decalogue of a Ukrainian nationalist" puts it "You will not hesitate to commit even the greatest crime, if the good of the cause demands it." Bandera and Shukhevich were awarded the title "Hero of Ukraine" by Yuschenko, the title was removed by Yanukovich. It's important to note that the "Nzification" of Ukraine started way before 2014, during Yuschenko's presidency. Many streets, parks, squares, stadiums have been renamed after these people, including a major Boulevard in Kiev, renamed to Bandera street, this road leads to Babi Yar, where thousands of jews died at the hands of Bandera's followers. I genuenly want to know what Bandera did that was good? The answer is nothing. He only brought massacres and death to Ukraine and even betrayed his own nation. There are plenty of Ukrainian people that truly fought for the good of Ukraine and Bandera isn't one of them. Bandera wanted to ethnically cleanse Ukraine. Another example is the renaming of the Ternopil Stadium under Zelensky's presidency to "Bandera and Shukhevich Stadium", there were protests in Poland and Israel, but the Jewish president didn't say a word. Moreover, there is a famous interwiew with Zelensky openly saying that admiring Bandera is actually "cool". General Zaluzhni was also seen posting pictures of himself alongside a portrait of Bandera and a bronze bust of Bandera. The flag of the UPA is red and black, it symbolizes blood and soil. "Blut und boden" is literally Nzi Rhetoric. Nzi battallions like Azov have nzi symbolism on their OFFICIAL insigna, this is different from individual soldiers using patches, they use the black sun and wolfsangel officially. Azov is part of the Ukrainian armed forces, and their projects are state finaced. There are many other Battalions apart from Azov that are famous for their extremism, one of them was the Tornado battallion, which committed so many warcrimes that it was impossibile to hide and was disbanded, although a lot of people have been freed. Azov also operates as an international organization, even organizing terrorist attacks cooridinated with foreign far right groups, one of these attacks was planned in my country and they were fortunately arrested. By the way, if you look at the Military land website, more than half of the Ukrainian formations use the OUN, UPA, or other Nzi symbolism. Other groups like the Pravy sector (Neo Nzi group) Operate as paramilitary governament proxies since their heavy involvment in the Maidan, an example of this is when they broke the easter ceasefire in 2014 and attacked a separatist checkpoint killing 3 civilians in the process. Their importance in the Maidan was aknowledged even by western media outlets like the BBC, and during an interwiew Yevhen Karas, Right Sector leader at the time confirmed that even if they were a minority during the protest, them being armed meant they were the main Force, he later stated that without them "The whole thing would have turned into a gay parade" .They are like the browshirts of the Ukrainian governament. They also recently participated in the crackdown on the Orthodox church. A lot of the Ukrainian governament is made up of historical revisionists, like the ambassador to Germany that was called off because he denied the massacres of the Holocaust in Ukraine. They also make their kids sing "Our father is Bandera" at school. Or people like the Minister of education that said "Ukrainians are genetically inclined towards intellectual activity" On the 18/12/2014 a vote was held by the UN about " Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism" Most countries voted yes, only 6 countries voted No, among those were the United States and Ukraine. After maidan, Poroshenko made January 1st a National holiday (Bandera's birthday) and the 14th of October (Creation of the UPA). Every jan 1st in Kiev there are massive parades that honour Bandera. This is also not mentioning the multiple titles Zelensky awarded to Right sectror members and it's leader, Kotsiubailo, or to other groups.

Thats about an ukrainian from ukrainian uprising army: Our father is Bandera, Ukraine is our mother! (Ukrainian: «Батько наш - Бандера, Україна - мати!») is a Ukrainian patriotic song about a mortally wounded Ukrainian rebel and his mourning mother, written sometime before 2019 to a pre-existing folk melody found in the collection "For the freedom of Ukraine" for the song "Sorrowful Lads".

Volyn massacre
In the past, Ukrainian and Polish families in Volyn lived without major conflicts.

During his imprisonment he wrote to Alfred Rosenberg, the Reich Minister for the Occupied Eastern Territories - in his letter, he offered cooperation and stated that Ukrainian nationalists were predisposed to help the Nazis because they had been
"formed in a spirit similar to National Socialist ideas".
It reads
"We should undertake the great action of the liquidation of the Polish element. As the German armies withdraw, we should take advantage of this convenient moment for liquidating the entire male population in the age from 16 up to 60 years. Villages and settlements situated next to the large forests should disappear from the face of the earth."
However records show that the majority of victims were women and children.
Yaroslav Stetsko, first head of the Ukrainian state. In the Proclamation of the Ukrainian state it says :
"The newly formed Ukrainian state will work closely with National-Socialist Germany under the leadership of its leader Adolf Hitler which is forming a new order in Europe and the world"
He also said" I insist on the extermination of the Jews and the need to adapt German methods Of exterminating Jews in Ukraine"
He was one of the instigators of the Lviv pogroms. Slogans used in those pogroms include
"Long live Adolf Hitler and Stepan Bandera - death to the Jews and the Communists." And
"Take up your weapons, destroy the enemy: Moscow, the Hungarians, the Jews. Destroy them".
The OUN's brutal methods were apparent as the "Decalogue of a Ukrainian nationalist" puts it "You will not hesitate to commit even the greatest crime, if the good of the cause demands it."
Bandera and Shukhevich were awarded the title "Hero of Ukraine" by Yuschenko, the title was removed by Yanukovich.
Other groups like the Pravy sector (Neo Nzi group)
Operate as paramilitary governament proxies since their heavy involvment in the Maidan, an example of this is when they broke the easter ceasefire in 2014 and attacked a separatist checkpoint killing 3 civilians in the process.
Or people like the Minister of education that said "Ukrainians are genetically inclined towards intellectual activity"
On the 18/12/2014 a vote was held by the UN about "
Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism"
Most countries voted yes, only 6 countries voted No, among those were the United States and Ukraine.

2:15 is the army of the Ukrainian People's Republic in 1919, and the song was written in 1940-1950
1:23 - a stamp of the Ukrainian People's Republic
2:05 - is also the Ukrainian People's Republic, although the song and Bandera's liberation movement did not exist then
In general, the text looks like it's all from a translator, not translated by a human.
What is your profile picture??? A Nazi who killed many Russians, Poles, and Jews???

@@rexetdeus Even if so, the sound is taken from another insurgent song of 1940-1950, and this song also tells about a UPA soldier (the UPA existed in 1940-1950)
Well ofc it looks so, because the texts aren't that big, and even though it can be used as an excuse, I actually know this isn't translated by translator since I translated it myself
@@cartooncat142*it officially existed in 1942-1949

Ignoring who the OUN was or what they did, this shit's FIRE.

I may like Ukraine, but I despise nazism and thus the OUN and the Azov Battalion.
