    So I had a bright idea for a rental business but my friend may have talked me out of it. I already work a full time job and am planning to take on another side-job, and in reality most businesses take at least 3 years to prove viability and break even on expenses, while you'll also "be the business" during that time, working long hours maintaining and building that business outside of all the other things you want to do. So maybe it's not feasible to keep my current job(s) while also building a business, because I'm not wealthy enough to just hire a team of business development people and a manager from the get-go. And to be clear, I'm not looking for an easy win or get-rich-quick scheme, I'm rather looking for efficient ways to build a business while I'm still early in my working years. Thoughts?

    • @camillramirez
      @camillramirez ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't let anyone talk you out of something you want to do if it fails it fails but what if it blows up !You never know unless you try! I started a lawn care business with my husband during covid because we both lost our jobs so we had to Hustle but competition in my area is crazy so we were not making enough to cover expenses plus bills.. we were behind on everything and we used savings to purchse all equipment..... I then got desperate and started researching other business ventures that better suited ME ... I came across AIRBNB cleanings ... I told my husband that I wanted to start a second business in cleaning airbnbs he discouraged me and for 1 month I just researched and looked up competition in my area and then I made my logo and started looking for my first client😬 Without him knowing 🤣then suddenly I got a call from my first client 🥳 when I say I winged it lol I didn't know what I was doing but I had watched 100s of cleaning videos .. I over cleaned I'm sure 😌 and well guess what that client had 10 properties that he needed help with .. I stayed with him for 6 months and perfected my process and got fast at ...😳 then he fired me because I was now his competition because everyone was requesting Me to clean ...6 months later from that I now have 20 properties + 4 workers and make about 10,000 -15,000 a month profit my husband is now my maintenance and helps me with cleanings.. I say just start !! @roti

    • @therentalguy
      @therentalguy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jorge,
      I find that the heavy duty pop up tents are great for clients that want a big tent a few days away and can’t get a line locate in time. I make a lot of money this way offering them multiple with gutter systems. And the customers usually pick them up so you can save on labor by having the customer pickup.
      It doesn’t matter what type of Popup (obviously the better quality the better). But make sure the company offers replacement parts or buy an extra Popup just for parts.
      I buy impact canopies currently but am getting into some better ones next year as I am now Abbie to afford the beat quality by working my way up.

      Depends on your competitions price and what kind of variety for rentals that you offer. If you have just chairs you’ll have to price lower than your competitors that carry tent, tables and chairs because people mostly go for a one stop shop. Having just 1 or a few items will get booking from people who are price fishing.

    I want to start a business where I offer a “party” order and of course I add myself to that order meaning like I’m monetizing my fun and my energy to people that want to have fun and party. How can I legally do that in a business? Partying with people who want to pay me to do so?

    What's the size of your rental area? Both geographically, and population wise?

      About 270,000 people. Google Saskatoon. That’s where I’m from!

    Did you start an LLC or just experience what works first then when you started making big cash flow, then started an llc?

    • @rentalsetup-makearentalequ6427

      You don't have to start an LLC at the beginning. First, try out the business and if you're getting success then start the process

    Hi, we’re did you get your chairs and tables to start off your business ? Of you don’t mind sharing.
    Thanks!

      I got my first chairs from a local rental company in my area. They were in terrible condition. I’ve been fixing them up since I started. I could have bought all brand new chairs for the amount that I have spent so far on restoring them but I made the needed money in the start renting them as budget chairs.

    • @therentalguy

      20x30 was my most popular size for smaller pole tents last summer. And 10x20 was my most popular popup tent size last summer.
