Dear Samsung, Thank you for taking my Galaxy Watch5 Pro for the 2nd trade-in and saving me $350.00 when I upgraded to the Watch Ultra for $289. On sale via Amazon for only $559.00 amzn.to/3YeEQl3
A fun update from yesterday after visiting the FedEx Store, yes, the archaic Galaxy Watch5 Pro was sent back to Samsung to allow me to keep the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
For the record, having old watch bands is a non-issue. I replaced my 20 mm pins in my bands to 22 mm pins from Amazon's along with adapters and they all look fantastic. I could never go back to a 5 Pro. I never had a rotating bezel so that is meaningless to me.. digital bezel in my opinion is almost flawless. I'm also not going to own a watch that I have to charge everyday. I also have no doubt that things like the energy score being static, being able to program the action button to more useful apps is going to change with software updates. And I do not believe any software update is going to make that five pro or the six classic any faster. My my5 pro coming out of low battery power was so sluggish and frustrating. None of those issues with the Ultra.
Interesting thoughts and well said. I always appreciate honesty and no cursing 🤬 I sent my Galaxy Watch5 Pro back to Samsung for their $350 trade-in program is a great deal. I unboxed the Galaxy Watch7 on Saturday and cannot wait for my tests to finish. Looking forward to comparing the Galaxy Watch Ultra to a Garmin in about 11 days… Now, as for the digital bezel, sorry, I prefer the hardware bezel on my Galaxy Watch from 2018 or the Watch6 Classic from last year. I do enjoy the faster processor & the 0.5GB augmented RAM, nice 👍🏻
Found you a link on Amazon, and it's called the OnePlus 12 guardian case by Poetic. It is the case I still use since it allows the OnePlus 12 to use MagSafe amzn.to/40zphXD Yeah, the MagSafe does connect and charge the OnePlus 12 wirelessly, but the OP phone charges slowly.
All the features of GW U, including watchfaces, body battery, readiness, updated looks, etc, will come to previous models with One UI 6. The new update will also smooth out most of the previous watches, so stutters and lag on the previous models will go away. The health sensor is a mix bag so far, at least for now. There are improvements but also downgrades. For me, going for the Ultra is pointless except for cosmetic reasons and larger screen. I got the Watch 5Pro and 6 Classic. I prefer a more "True watch" approach with the lugs (prongs) and all so I can use my extremely large watch band collection. 😁
Excellent points and thanks for the detailed comment. I am often torn about certain upgrades and feel a tad more pressure by reason of something new to review… I am glad I don’t feel that pressure with every company or my hobby would take over. So, the Galaxy Watch6 Classic will have an energy score soon?
Many thanks, and yes, I do still enjoy note taking on my reMarkable 2 tablet. Glad you enjoyed my detailed reviews about those shiny Galaxy wearables. I unboxed the Galaxy Ring last night and wore it to bed. More about that shiny smart ring soon...
YOUR WATCH BAND COLLECTION IS A NON-ISSUE!! I have a large watch band collection 2 and you know how I overcame it going from the watch5 pro to the Ultra. I bought high quality stainless steel adapters off Amazon. The watch5 pro accepts 20 mm pins. For about $6 each I bought two bags of 22 mm pins which is the size of the adapter lugs. I yanked the 20 mm pins out of my watch bands and replaced them with 22 mm pins and attach the adapters to them permanently. Holy crap my leather embroidered watch bands my stainless steel watch bands and all the others in between are now being rocked on my five Ultra. IT'S A NON-ISSUE. I never had a watch six classic because that didn't appeal to me and in addition to tracking battery was my number one concern. I don't care what anybody says going from the watch5 pro to the Ultra for me was night and day. The screen size the brightness, It's snappy, The digital bezel is snappy and way easier to use than the 5 pro. I even interact with this watch way more than I ever do with my 5pro. Not to mention the titanium silver that I got looks great with all of the bands that I have and of course even two bands I bought with the new attachment. I'm a woman with a very small wrist and this watch sits perfectly and when I walk into a room with a beautiful analog watch face it stands out. You can even still continue to buy traditional bands. IF YOU HAVE NO GAP BANDS THIS WILL NOT WORK. I didn't purchase no Gap bands for my 5 pro because of the size of my wrist.
I cannot believe the opportunity to review such a strap adapter, what a fun video idea you just gave me. Thank you for the details and glad I don't have to give away my old bands from 2021, 2022, and 2023. Today is Day 17 wearing the Galaxy Watch Ultra and I very much enjoy the new style, health metics, and the larger screen. Thank you for watching and for the many comments.
I've been getting about 1.5 days on my 5Pro running OneUI 6 beta. Lost a day by installing the beta. Definitely a bummer. I am running all background metrics also though. Continuous monitoring without AOD
Galaxy ultra ..Design , speed software improvements, galaxt watch 5 pro $530 dollars cheaper ebay excellent ref..faster charging , wireless phone charging, more options for accesorries ...in the end, this watch uktra will be 200 dollars cheaper in less then 5 months on ebay and in 2 years under 350 in excellent condition😢
Four plus days, eh? That blows me away for my Galaxy Ultra does not even estimate four days of battery life with heart rate, SP02, snoring, and 11 other health metrics disabled. Your comment has spiked my curiosity and more research from my own Samsung timepiece is needed...
@PeterHerget just took it off the charger from 100% and it says 4 days 9 hrs. I have seen it as much as 4 days 16 hrs. Not sure what I changed. I fiddle with settings when I watch TH-cam videos.
Curiouser and curiouser... I will need to fiddle around with the Watch Ultra even further to see if I too can see "four days." Thank you for the comments.
@@jsworld1446 I tried those exact settings again and I only get 3 days and change. I even disabled snoring detect, turned off stress, disabled age & AGEs index, raise to wake is off, AOD is off, and yes my heart rate only checks every 10 minutes. My battery life is at 84% and even with Power Saver Mode enabled, nope, just 3 days and 20 hours is my battery life estimate. I'll go through all of my settings and see what else could be sucking the battery life from my Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. Over the past month I have been comparing the Watch Ultra to the Galaxy Ring, yes, I have revisited the cool factors of Samsung Health. And all in all, I started to like wearing a WearOS timepiece once again. Most of yesterday I wore the Galaxy Watch Ultra on my left wrist and the OnePlus Watch2 on my right. Thanks for your comments. Oh yeah, I even turned off "auto-brightness" thinking that would add another day, nope. And since you and I chatted last and given this video is over two months old... I even did a hard reset and changed the Galaxy Watch Ultra pairing from my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 over to the OnePlus 12 smartphone and it is connected to one of my Samsung test accounts. I wonder 🤔 could having a Samsung smartwatch paired with a non-Samsung smartphone cause battery drainage?
I took a few minutes, okay, over an hour, and wrote a detailed article on how to achieve the ULTRA battery life of FOUR DAYS & 12 HOURS www.reddit.com/user/GadgetsAnonymous/comments/1gk98e7/galaxy_watch_ultra_why_is_my_battery_life_so_low/
Awesome informative videos on your videos always Pete I always really enjoy them 🙌 One more thing hey guys what you waiting for smash the like subscribe it’s that easy helps the algorithm 👍😄
Thank you, BigMaxCC, and glad you enjoyed yet another geeky and informative video. I didn't wear my Galaxy Watch Ultra to bed last night... Instead, I placed the Galaxy Ring on my finger to track my sleep vitals!

@PeterHerget My Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Bands work with the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra with the adapters.
Hooray for adapters and I need to order a few yesterday ;)

I hope the Apple Watch Ultra 3 boosts their battery life to four days, but I doubt it.
Cool news! I did not even think about downloading the OneUI Beta. Does your Watch5 Pro seam less laggy with the new software?
Thank you for watching my Dad's video.

Yes, the resale value drops drastically after just a few months. If you are already content with your current Galaxy Watch, nope, no need to upgrade.
I prefer Garmin all day and all weekend.
I turned the aod off and touch screen or raise to wake and heart rate every 10 minutes and I get 4+ days
