Hello, fellow Swede here! The batter should be MIXED. I think there’s a error in the translation, the Swedish word for mix is “blanda” which resembles the English “blend”. Blend in Swedish is “mixa” which further adds to the confusion.
Also the bacon should be pre-fried, then chopped up and added to the batter. :)

Yeey Kay, a Swedish dish! ❤
But I have as a Swede who loves owen pancake never done it that way. I whisk the eggs with the sugar and salt, the put half the milk in and whisk. Then the flour abd whisk and then the rest of the milk and whisk again. If you want bacon in it I fry it first in the frying pan in bits and put it on the batter in the owenpan. I also melt butter first in the owenpan before the batter goes in. I also use cinnamon in my batter. Love your videos Kay ❤

What you can do with the bacon is that you cut it up into pieces and put the ovenproof dish and put that into the pre-heated oven and let it cook to perfection. Then you pour the batter over it. Then you have no added fat, just the bacon fat and the dish has been heated up and that makes the pancake rise nicely and not become flat.

From Sweden, i made this dish today. But we do it a bit different love. We use bacon cubes, spread them out evenly over an oven dish. Then you pop it in the oven and cook them until they just about to turn brownish. Then you take it out and pour over the batter and let it cook til finished. About 15-20 mins

This looked right good, I love pancakes, they're fantastically round. I do tend to get them a bit confused with pizza and quiche though, just because they're round and that lot. I do think the best way to tell the difference between a pizza and quiche and pancake is that a pancake is browner than a pizza and has less cheese and unlike quiche pancake has no egg. You also don't cut pancakes into triangles like pizza and quiche, you just have them round with mince and boiled tatties.

As you would've expected there will be many Swedes here like me who immediately clicks on this video and see how you do it. You passed but I would've changed some things. Don't take what I say serious it's just for your best, I want you to become a great homecook.
    1. Don't blend the bacon. You can add that but you have to chop it into pieces or strips and fry it and put it on top before you put it in the oven. Personally I just like it without meat, just the pancake itself but that's just my opinion. If you like it then go for it.
    2. Don't blend the pancake, whisk it instead. You don't have to wisk a lot just so it gets blended and smooth. That's how a Swede would've done it.
    3. You should also eat it with some kind of jam like some RÅRÖRDA LINGON or swedish ÄPPELMOS.
Apart from what I've listed I think you did pretty good.

Hello Kay hope all is well with you, I love watching your videos, I have an easy Spanish recipe for flan, I would love for you and your son to try it. Here it goes... Preheat oven to 350F degrees or 180C degrees,
melt 1 Cup of sugar over medium low heat until it turns to an amber color, do not stir the sugar, just whirl it in the pan, carefully pour it in a 9 x 2 inch cake pan, with oven mitts, it will be burning hot, so please be careful . With oven mitts on swirl it around in the pan and set it aside. In a blender mix !-14 oz. can of condensed milk, 1-12 oz. can of evaporated milk, 2 Cups of heavy whipping cream, 2 Tablespoons of vanilla, and 5 eggs. Blend for about 2 minutes. pour mixture on top of the caramel. Bake it in a bain Marie for about 50 minutes to 1 hour and ten minutes, keep an eye on your water so incase it evaporates add a little more. You'll know it is done when it has a firm jiggle. let it cool down at room temperature then refrigerate for 2 or more hours. When ready to serve, cut around the edge of the pan and flan with a knife, put a larger plate on top of the pan and quickly invert on a table, tap the top and lift evenly, and enjoy. There are videos that will show you step by step.

Chop onions, garlic and carots, put them in an oven proof dish
    Put in lightly fried sausages
Put in a tin of baked beans, one tin of chopped tomatoes and a big squirt of tomato puree
Add chicken stock so everything is covered. about 1 pint should do it.
Add a tablespoon of thyme, and one of parsley and one of oregano.
Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
Cook in the oven for 20 minutes at 200 then stir it all, and put it back in for 20 minutes.

I was wondering if the bacon is to be cooked in a pan first before adding, and the grease is the melted fat from cooking more so than the liquid from the packaging? The liquid from the package makes me think of brine.

I'm honestly not sure though because this recipe is quite different than what I'm used to cooking or eating.

Hey Kay, just want to remind you that it's a good idea to mind the raw meat juices/grease getting everywhere - major cross contamination here! I'm not being nasty or rude, I'm only mentioning it because I don't want you and your family/friends getting terribly ill from all that raw stuff being flung around all over (like your recipe was soaked in that raw bacon juice; I'd copy it elsewhere and throw that copy away).

@KaysCooking just keep doing what you're doing and try to be adventurous when possible. When you learn techniques, apply them in different situations and see what can happen! I used to rely on recipes but now I try to think of regional differences and everything else works out.

Here in the USA, pancakes are a breakfast dish (not that you can't eat them anytime) and are very sweet. Plus, we top them with various things, usually also sweet, like maple syrup (usually with butter), fruit (often with a fruit syrup or topping), whipped cream, and more, and sometimes nuts, chocolate chips, blueberries, etc., can be a topping and/or cooked into the pancake.
Of course, we can make them savory, too, but you might want to make sure when you order if you're visiting the US. 😊
Wishing you beautiful and happy days, Kay! ❤💐🌹
