Coming back to skating after 17 years because these videos started popping up in my feed and got me hyped to get on a board again. Love the trick selection I see in these new parts. I think the early 2000’s were when people started figuring out exactly how massive they could go and it became an arms race of who could kickflip the most stairs or frontside flip the biggest gap. I feel like I get a lot more of these dudes’ personality through their skating and approaches at spots to try weird shit. Also, that 360 flip hippie hop was so nasty.

This was insane! Finally a breath of fresh air, a lot of unexpected technical tricks and actual skill. I feel like a lot of skaters get by these days with going fast, doing slappies, wallies and powerslides and maybe one sketchy ass impossible. And even some of the actually talented skaters are lackin i don’t know - dedication? Hard work? U know if Dylan Jaeb thinks he tech i would suggest him to take a look at this. Some of these clips are nearing prime level Daewon Song. I love to see the progression. Finally a part that is not like all the other parts, and it stands out because of far superior skill level not because of ollies and powerslides like T Funk. Lol. Good job Nick!

This is the most ignorant skating take I’ve seen, holy shit. So you aren’t good unless you push yourself to do the most tech tricks? An ollie on a near vertical wall is “just an ollie”? And a frontside flip down a 15 stair is probably “just a frontside flip” and stylish skating is irrelevant, it’s just “going fast and doing slappies”? Do you have no appreciation for the artistic aspect of skateboarding? Or is it all just a math equation with one possible answer?

With his skill he should easily be doing technical stuff like this guy. And I don’t like the whole powerslide hillbombing guys that are overhyped. Yeah maybe there is no need for me to compare but having skated for 17 years, I kind of have a grasp on what is really fucked up difficult and what is not.
