Beautifully done. I’m picturing Frog looking in the distance as he morns for his lost friend. Just at the end of the song Frog picks up his sword. I really enjoyed listening. ✌🏼
Squeeeeeeeee. Yes. More of Yasunori Mitsudas's melodies. His nonharmonic melodies are so unlike most other soundtracks out there and hit such a range of emotional content. You captured this song beautifly Rebecca and I love the added vocals you did.
@@RebeccaETripp Yes, this one felt special. Thank you again. As for the first thing that made me cry, I was re-watching the series finale of StarCrafts. For a series that normally makes me laugh, that finale has made me cry hard, every time I've seen it. Here's the link, if you want: th-cam.com/video/3zom0687XCE/w-d-xo.html
Very nice as always! Love the tone, almost feels like it exists somewhere in the space between Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. This is the one song I wish I had been able to fit into my album and bugs me to this day.
Nice arrangement, Chrono Trigger is one of the best JRPG with Secret Of Mana elements and Final Fantasy ATB with Combo Techs. Best RPG for Snes. Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu worked this soundtrack together. Nobuo Uematsu helped Yasunori Mitsuda to compose when Mitsuda-san had stomach illness. The 2 legendary composers create such an amazing soundtrack.
So this was you! It was shared by one of my good cousin before I randomly tuned into your interpretation of FF6 Terra's theme(my favorite) recently. It appears that you are able to extract the soul of songs/compositions. As a long-time VGM instrument player myself I appreciate you publishing your work to the world. /Thankful.
What a coincidence. I just got done playing an incredible hack of Chrono Trigger (Schala Edition), two weeks ago and just finished Chrono Cross against last Monday. Your Chrono series pieces are always incredible.
This is beautifal, the chills it gives me combined with soothing melodies and a hint of sorrow in it. I am impressed and in awe, the vocals being icing on the cake, you keep doing good and I love your Zelda arrangements.
Damn, Rebecca, there was no need to almost make me cry on the first notes! :') ❤❤❤ Should I add: this is my first time listening to this piece at all. I'm not familiar with the source material. Therefore the effect this had on me was purely musical on its core, no nostalgia was involved in the process!
Wow! Beautiful! Fantastic! Always loved this track, as I tend to find the sad songs the most beautiful. Your arrangement really digs into the heart... thank you :)
Surely I would have commented when this released? But I can't find it. Odd. The Red Star, hurtling through the lonely abyss of space for untold eons, rips through the Earth's atmosphere. Its cataclysmic impact not only sealing the doom of the Reptites, but directing the fate of the planet for all time to come. This piece is always powerfully melancholic. Your version adds a tragic beauty and also a sense of catharsis, with tones that are both deep and delicate.
Idk why but i started listening to this and i just started bawling. Ive been so stressed out and i think i just need to release these terrible emotions and this song just broke the floodgates.
This melody will always remind me the sad background of the Frog's story. But even with that he could overcome that and to turn himself into a Time Warrior 😃
this ost will always be inspired to me then again I have a bias since it is from my favorite game and this song in particular has always been among the best for how emotional it is and you have tapped into that so well with this version also I love hearing your voice if that is indeed your voice really brings this whole track together
You really brought out and enhanced the spirituality and emotion of the piece. The slight variation with the violin is very nice when it comes in. I was hoping you'd let the violin really take over the melody around 2:05 rather than emphasize the backup voices and atmospheric but maybe that's just my personal preference. That one nitpick aside, terrific job quite worthy of the Rebecca Tripp Chrono Trigger repertoire. Very good call to slow the tempo a little, as if to say, "Just listen. It's ok to be sad." Ok, now I want to hug someone...
I beat the game to death on the SNES last century. The part portrayed by the fanart in the video was a tearjerker, with the song making the feelings stronger. I like the song, and felt that it wasn't played enough times in the game. However, I find it a good thing because this meant there were less deaths and tragedies in the story.
I admit: I cannot bear to see anyone cry; not even a figment of my own imagination. Nonetheless, the illustration suits the piece, of course. And it is lovely.
I don't know how you execute every piece perfectly. I love the background melodies that perfectly correlate with the main melody. As a fairly new composer, I have to ask, do you have an tips for me? And what software do you use? Thank you, I appreciate your music, and you inspire me!
I'm really glad that this moved you! However, I'm extremely bummed out because I just crafted a long, very detailed reply, and then accidentally clicked out of it. D': I'll try to summarize it instead. The best advice I can give is to learn as much about yourself and your truest nature as possible. The more you understand this stuff, the easier it will be for you to get into flow states. Flow states are the most important thing for creative people. It takes us about half as much time/effort to create whenever we're able to maintain these delicate, yet potent states of mind. So, it can help to ask yourself some hard-ish questions! I'll list examples: -what emotional state typically makes me feel like creating? -am I a procrastinator, or do I work best on a consistent schedule? -am I an intuitive learner, or do I learn best by studying systems and memorizing information directly? -what kinds of music do I want to create ultimately? -do I understand the fundamentals of the genres I want to create? -am I a playful person who learns and creates best through experimentation, trial and error? -or do I create better by adhering to tried and true formulaic structure? -is it better for me to lay down basic framework, instrumentation, etc ahead of time? -or do I do my best work with less planning/constraints? -am I a visual learner, or more kinesthetic? (this can be helpful in determining the best programs/instruments to use)
Bittersweet moments like these are all over Chrono Trigger. Interesting you picked a this particular image as that part of Frog's story kinda gets buried in the overall theme of fighting against Lavos. That is until you find that secret ruins.
