The R7 looks amazing and that CP2 engine is awesome 👌 plenty of power and reliable. It's a perfect all around motorcycle 🏍

Correct - structural reinforcement for better handling.

Just watched the full video on your website. Man…I must be missing something. I’m currently at 3600 miles and I tend to do about 100-200 miles when I work. I did a 160 mile trip nonstop on the weekend to the desert from LA and it felt really good. Little to no pain. A bit of numbness from vibrations but that’s it. I’m 215 pounds and I’m still on the stock tires. Here are my settings:
Front Preload - 10 turns in
    Rear Preload - 4th setting
Front Rebound Damping - 1 click out
Rear Rebound Damping - 1 turn out of 3
    Compression - 10 clicks out of 13
I went to the canyons to adjust and loved it at this setting and I barely feel little bumps. But according to your video it seems I have “stiffened” it too much? I do agree that the harsher bumps are a bit gnarly. But I was tired of pogoing on the small bumps. I definitely need some guidance here. What do you think Dave?

Hi Nicholas. You found YOUR settings that work perfectly for you on your roads at your speeds. That makes me very proud in reading your explanation and you sharing your settings to pay it forward. Try fork rebound at 4 and shock rebound at .75 to see if that provides a better balance. The big missing piece of information is how much fork travel you are using?

@@catalystreactionsbw thank you! That means so much to me. I’m honored. I have always looked up to you when it comes to suspension. I definitely have more to learn. I will try those settings out thank you for the recommendation. I usually have about an inch to 2 inches of fork travel left. Upon examining my zip tie I have about a quarter inch left but that’s due to wheelies unfortunately haha. Am I right to assume that you should be using most of your travel on the street but save some for reserve? And on the track I should be looking to be using close to all of it?

@@nicholasaguirre1661 80% for the street is ideal so you have a buffer. Track 90%.

@@catalystreactionsbw what about a setup for two up? Or is it not recommended on this bike?

    • @catalystreactionsbw

@@nicholasaguirre1661 I have not had the chance to do. 2 up video with this bike yet. Depending on the passenger weight, it could be possible to have enough rebound damping on the rear shock to keep them still in the seat.

    Dunlop Q3+ : 120/70r17 180/55R17
Taller tire, steeper profile, falls into corners easier. As for geometry in the rear, the stock Michelin and Dunlop are the same height. For the front, q3+ is 6mm taller so while it's steeper profile you may still have to do some adjustment to the front fork height to compensate correctly.

I got excited when I saw R7. Bit of a bait and switch for a fossil like me.

6:00 i like seeing that didn't even need to reposition or hang off the bike like so many other "less experienced" guys do or say is necessary. And with these rides, how would you compare the S22 to the Pilot Road 5 and Pilot Power 5? Mainly asking about the PR5 bc I'm wondering if S22 more than I need even though I ride streets aggressive, but mostly upright bc I'm still not very sure about leaning traction with my 07 cbr1krr and my under maintained esp nor changing fluid. I bought bike with 16k miles 3-4yrs ago now with 24-25k miles. Previous owner claimed had recently changed all the fluids but I didn't due diligence check much except that they looked clear.

When you lean out your allowing the bike to make the turn going faster without leaning so many degrees. It also keeps the pegs from hitting.
