The scene in last tango when he berates his dead wife is the most gut wrenching pieces of acting i have ever witnessed 😮😮😢 absolutely mesmerizing ❤and of course his scenes in apocalypse now are beyond belief. Beautiful and tragic genius 🍻👏

Yes Marlon Brando was such a great actor but it makes me sad that there's a very good chance that he may have used his money and influence to do some terrible things to his two ex-wives .
There's a vid here somewhere where the husband of one of those women is talking about how Marlon convinced a doctor to say she had psychiatric problems and was mentally unfit to be the mother ... and that's how he was able to get custody of the kids and also have her put on harsh psychiatric drugs she should never have been on .
We see later the horrible tragedy with his beautiful daughter Cheyenne and his son Chris .
Perhaps if he had not taken them from their mother when they were so young , perhaps things would have turned out differently ?
When it came to his two wives it seems he didn't care what he had to do to win against them even if it meant destroying these women .
I feel sorry for them and those two women both seem so innocent

This is a good biography in the sense that it goes into some detail with each phase of Brando's life and provides some insight into his behavior and life choices. It kept my attention throughout the over one hour length. At this point I am motivated to read Brando's autobiography to go into more depth with his life and times. Thanks!

Marlon Brando was a huge activist & even backed out of a movie "The Arrangement" with his favorite director, Elia Kazan to raise awareness & support Dr Martin Luther King's foundation. He suggested that everyone in the acting world donate 1% of their total annual income to keep M.L.K. foundation going. Brando donated 10% of his annual income. Brando also supported American Indian's by giving them a parcel of land owned by him to the American Indian's. Brando had a huge heart when it came to people who were disadvantaged or hurting. There will never be another Marlon Brando, at least in this lifetime. He had the face of a poet & the body of a prize fighter. In other words, he was uber gorgeous & is the greatest actor in film/cinema history.

Most of the time if we meet them in person they are extremely disappointing. That is not their fault, it is our fault for placing them on that same pedestal. I got "Songs My Mother Taught Me" some years ago, and it's outstanding. I truly admire the man. He is one of the greatest actors of all time, if not THE BEST ever.
When he was in High School plays he was an attraction and people came to see him. He was in a Broadway play and he an elderly actress did not get along.
11:00 During a play, Brando was scratching himself which was distracting from the actresses performance. So she went to him and hit him with a whip that she had for the play.
He took her by collar and starting slapping her up on stage. She tried to run away from and ran up a stairs on stage that goes to no where with Brando hot on her heals.
The stairs collapsed and the curtain was drawn and the audience stood up and cheered. They thought it was part of the play.

Comparing Brando & Sinatra is like comparing Caviar to Fast Food. Brando was the most gorgeous guy I've ever seen & also was the greatest actor hands down in the film/cinema history. There's not too many who could ACT like Brando. His facial features are perfect. It was said that Brando had the looks of a poet with a prize fighters body. The trio of the greatest actors were Brando, Montgomery Clift & James Dean but very sadly we lost Monty (age 45) & Dean (age 24) much too early.💔💔 Brando also had a huge heart for the underdog & was a great activist for civil rights & the american indian! We all love Marlon, some of his films are a bit hammy, but On the Waterfront is powerful gritty stuff, his Don Corleone legendary, and I even love The Freshman were he reprises his godfather role to great comic effect, One-Eyed Jacks still stands up, he displays an enigmatic mystery in this film. I don't like Streetcar named Desire, feel for poor Blanche against the brute Stanley Kowalski. Great screen presence, Mr. Brando!
You start off making good-objective and spot-on assessments of Brando's acting then say you didn't like an entire film because you felt bad for an actor portraying a character who was "treated badly" by Brando (an ACTOR-Acting like a brute). You seem to not realize that Brando's performance was so powerful and moved you so much that you (actually) believed Marlon Brando was treating Vivien Leigh badly. THIS is exactly what GREAT acting is. You need to re-evaluate your thoughts/decision on Street Car.

To me Marlon Brando and Micky Rourke mirror each other's careers and some of their lives.
Oh man...this is SO true !!! Where do I start?
1st of all....let's start with the fact that they both have Irish ancestry. 2nd: They both had a dysfunctional childhood. Brando hated his dad, and Mickey hated his stepfather and had nonrelationship with his biological dad until he met him just once as an adult. 3: Both of them were not known to do hard drugs or alcohol especially Brando (I've heard Mickey wS doing coke in the 80s, but I've not been able to substantiate this). 4: They both had the same face and physique. Patricia Bosworth once quoted someone who said Marlon had the face of a poet and the body of a prize fighter. Also... they both studied at the actors' studio. They both spoke very softly and could snap at the drop of a hat. They both hated Hollywood, acting and actors. They both fell out with Hollywood but rejuvenated their careers. They were both outspoken. They both had troubled private lives. They both boxed. They both chose projects that their hearts were in, especially Mickey. The big difference is that Marlon had dozens of kids, and Mickey was smart enough to have none. Imo Rourke is the closest a thespian ever to cone out who is closest to Brando, especially in terms of raw talent. I say Mickeys actually surpassed Marlon in the talent dept, but it balances out because Brando did theatre and Shakespeare, which Mickey did not.
I'd also like to add Mickey has French ancestry as well and so too does Brando as well. I recall reading once he had French Alsatian ancestry as his family name was originally Brandeau.

So, it's surprising that the narrator's mispronunciations of virtually every foreign name (aside from the hispanic ones) were not caught and corrected. I mean, how can you possibly get Blanch DuBois and Steven Speilberg's name wrong?

I have not watched all Marlon Brandon movies but quite a few. Not just the obvious choices like The Godfather, On the Waterfront, A Streetcar Named Desire and One-Eyed Jacks but some of the others. So far. Marlon Brandon hasn't been bad in any of them. I can't say all the movies as a whole has been great but always interesting to see Marlon Brando. I will continue my search for the others.

I found it hard to enjoy that series because there's just no way I could believe Henry being that lean and in shape even as he got older ... it just totally ruined it for me because it made it so unrealistic😂

Such a great great man. We all have our issues. Nobody is a saint on this Earth. We are what we do in life, and Brando could make people feel emotions like very few actors and actresses just by a simple facial expression, or the way he said certain lines. Brando gave films a heart, and an identity all their own, even if thee critics couldn't see it at the time with certain films that were critically panned. Every generation there is one actor that has that same gene for acting that Brando had. In the 70's, and 80's, it was Al Pacino who took that mantle. In the 90's, and 2000's, it was Johnny Depp. What's so great is that even after their primes in Hollywood, they still went strong with some of their greatest roles happening when they were older men who's best work was thought to be long behind them. That's what makes them the GOAT's of acting. The greatest actors and actresses can act in any era of film. They can adapt to changing times, and sell films just by their name, and presence alone on screen.
I think that Mr Brando would have loved the film Dances With Wolves.

As much as I enjoy this documentary, I couldn't help notice the narrator constantly mispronouncing names of very famous motion pictures personalities!
That's why a lot of people think it was an AI bot and I agree because even though it had a sophisticated voice that would fool most people that were just way too many mispronunciations for somebody who is supposed to be an American.

Believe it or not it's a bot it's not a real person ... usually you can tell because they mispronounce so many words and names .
So the voice bots have become really advanced and in fact now they have voice A.I. that can imitate any human voice and do it very quickly within seconds .
It can imitate your loved ones voice and be used to fool you where you get a phone call from them saying they need money or they've been kidnapped and there's actually vids about that here ... CBS did one about it and it is really scary .

He was much different than the image. At least in later life. He did his best to live a normal life. But he was a genius. Genius isn't free. It can be very expensive. Sometimes the cost is a normal life and a family. Brando had many children, who had many problems. It was very sad.

Fascinating and interesting video. However there were too many unbelievable mispronunciation of places and peoples’ names. It would sure be more professional, for you to learn how to pronounce names before you begin the final recording, especially in these times when finding out how to pronounce words and names is as easy asking Google.
