@@50mtb44 Not uphill. I've ridden the blue downhill but not up. I'm visually impaired and can only catch a line about 5 ft. in front of me. Makes tech hard because speed is your friend on sections like that. Sometimes I lay out a colored strap so the line is easier to see.

@@knordberg cool how you adapt to the trail and situation. It is a fun section down (and up). Keep rocking forward.

Try going up a gear in your technical climb sections! I like picking my way slowly through gnarly stuff, too, but there are things that I can get over/through in 3rd or 4th that I can't get through in 2nd. A little momentum (and a well-timed hip/bar thrust) can go a long way. You'll get it!! :-)

James, good call. I''ll try that - increasing gear. Also, picking lines that are hard to enter, but easier when clear. So much is in our head. Thanks for advice.

James, quick question. Do you climb tech standing or sitting?

@@50mtb44 Its a mix, really. I used to ride observed trials, so my default response is to stand up through stuff, so that I can throw a lot of body movement and body english around. That was also a fairly necessary technique for getting through tough sections on my old 26" bike. I'm finding more and more on the 29'er, however, that I'm often better off staying seated and motoring through stuff as much as I can, or lifting up a tiny bit from the seat, and staying loose in the arms and legs so the bike can move around, but keep moving forward. The big wheels and low-pressure tubeless tires have been a serious revelation to me. I still stand up through some stuff that I cannot pedal through, and for bigger moves, but I'm trying to keep my butt planted as much as I can, and I'm finding that surprisingly effective!!

50mtb I wish I could go but I also have a conflict but want to put it on my list for next year. My daughter loves the trails there. I have a couple of kayak trips planned in Missouri and Texas while it is going . I hope it works out that you can make it so you can tell us all about it. Keep up the good work and videos that keep us old guys inspired.
