S Guard Basics - The Giant Killer Guard

Also known as Deep Butterfly Half Guard. This guard works well against bigger opponents because once you are under them it is hard for them to attack you. It also works well against leg lockers because your legs are hidden. I combine this guard with Z guard and butterfly half. I stumbled across this guard around 2005 when rolling. Have not really seen anyone play it in the US but I’m sure someone does. I have seen Christian Graugart (BJJ Globetrotters) and his team use it in a video from 2011. This video is a shortened and cleaned up version of one I did a few years ago.
