    Great video !!
I found the cassette tape long ago in Escanaba and wore it out !
Just for the heck of it looked it up on u-tube.
I grew up on my family's dairy farm just north of Trenary and world famous toast.
I live in Northern AZ. Now and miss the U.P. BAD !!
Thanks for reminding me of the great times.

Thanks so much for your quick response and clearing up the Makkara mystery.
We never cooked in our sauna but always had great meals on the Wood fired stove in the farmhouse kitchen.
I'm still curious about the line ," pass the feelya please".
My Grandparents came from Finland and had a small farm in Watson in the area called the Fin settlement. My Mom was born there and graduated high school in Gwinn.
I always wanted to live there among my family that I felt closest to.
      Childhood dreams.
      Keep the videos coming !!

Vellia. 2nd and 3rd gen American Finns use either “e” sound, long E is more common among older folk. A fruit sauce used as dessert, on ice cream, etc.

      Hey Dare you Yooper !!
Thanks for clearing that up !
I spent the best years of my life in the U.P. when I was a kid.
I never learned to speak Fin but wish I could have.
I loved the farm life and all my Mom's family there and dreamed of living there someday but life got in the way.
I still get there for fishing and visits though.
      Thanks again.

@@charleshughbryan5603 I’m a Finn and I didn’t get the ”feelya please” part but it could mean ”viili” which is a thick yoghurt like sour milk some have for breakfast here.
Cooking in the sauna is not common. The only thing some people sometimes do is to wrap the makkara (sausage) in tinfoil and place it over the hot stones. It’s just something some people do very occasionally. The sausage in the video doesn’t look like makkara to me. By the way there are many, many types of makkara from chorizo like sausages to ones with black pepper, cheese, etc these days.
As a side note the clothing looks more like Game of Thrones mixed with reimagined Lappish / Sami stuff, but not very Finnish at all :). I understand it’s all fictional so I’ll let it pass!
