Being fairy new to actually deep-diving into competitive Strive, seeing Gobou use cancels during RC in tandem with the positive bonus to get three Roman Cancels in one combo, was actually wild. It finally made something click in my head to realize a practical application for cancelling mid-Roman Cancel. -Hopefully I cure my brainrot and remember how to Guilty Gear again someday.-
Glad to see Gobou also suffers in this matchup. Not that I want to see Gobou suffer, I just feel like a fucking idiot every time I get hit by Rock the Baby.
As a long time Bridget player and current Aba enthusiast, I think this is Aba’s most troublesome match-up. As gobou demonstrates if you can hit parry you can avoid yo-yo mix, but it is largely a guess in the Bridget player’s favor, as they choose the timing of their normal hit. Gobou does good to show the struggle of the mu and what counter play can be implemented, in harder mu’s like Bridget/HC/Axl/Faust where keep away is effective any parries you can get to build meter can be the difference between winning and losing.
Gobou said that so far, A.B.A's hardest match-ups are Chaos, and probably Axl. They also mentioned that Johnny is very difficult as well - even while you're in Moroha Mode.
I watched this set during Gobou's stream last night, and I didn't know who this strong Bridget player was until I read their name - ちゅらら/Tyurara has this unorthodox playstyle that just seems to work out, plus they have amazing combo conversions with all of their characters (Ky, Sin, Bridget). Their Bridget gatekept Gobou out of the finals at Arc World Tour, but perhaps Gobou should have picked a character that does a little better against Bridget... Regarding Gobou's Asuka (*Long post*): Gobou recently stated that they will be using A.B.A/Asuka - with A.B.A being the main, while Asuka being the secondary. They played Asuka for about an hour last night, seemed like they were letting out some frustration (perhaps because of the 3on3 tournament I will mention later in this post), and they are without a doubt still the best Asuka player in the world. They mentioned that they haven't played Asuka on stream since A.B.A came out. However, they have played Asuka in a 3on3 tournament - there does not appear to be any archives, so I will spoil the results of some matches: The first match was an Asuka mirror - Gobou vs. コメコメ/surumaiden; I've been waiting to see this match between these two since I picked up Asuka, and the match went mostly as I expected; コメコメ has a unique playstyle, the best defense of any top player I've seen, and they have incredibly strong fundamentals - they also switch between a defensive to an aggressive playstyle. Well, they beat Gobou 2-0 in the mirror match using tricks, fuzzies, ect - which is not an easy feat to achieve - but the most amazing part is that they used Case 2 to do it - winning against Case 3 with Case 2 is harder than winning with Case 1 (which is why they used Case 1 the majority of the time on set 2) - the fact that surumaiden was able to pull it off, against Gobou at that, is nothing short of extraordinary. I have _never_ seen a player block just about everything Gobou threw at them, and lived to tell the tale - Gobou on the last match essentially panicked because they ran out of ideas and resources to open コメコメ up (Gobou used up all of Asuka's HP a few times during those matches). One thing that I would like to mention, is that before Arc World Tour Gobou said, "The way I win, and the way I lose has changed" - this is one of the things that makes Asuka the hardest character in the game, because there are so many things to remember, and your playstyle can change as time goes by - I'm most shocked that Gobou has seemed to forgotten that Asuka is a grappler - but their playerstyle is now more focused on solitaire and less interaction with the opponent, so that makes sense. Moreover, Gobou is still the Asuka GOAT, and I'm happy that they're still sticking with Asuka for now, but I had to root for a fellow Case 2 Asuka user. Truly some fantastic sets. Furthermore, TY's Chipp saved the team from elimination, then Gobou was the anchor against tights, Yuu, and Nage's team - and well... lost to Yuu's May. But Yuu's May is as good as Slash's May in my opinion, so I guess there's no shame in that... Gobou does not appear to like fighting May with Asuka at all, and he said that they wish that they could use 6 active staffs while playing against May.

I always see your long comments about Gobous Asuka and they're always nice to read, keep them up! I am also interested to see the 3v3 tournament so if you have a link that'd be nice!
Consider that this isn't a tournament setting and not really some sort of ranked play at all meaning it's entirely ok if Gobou wanted to use the match to experiment and mess with things on ABA instead of going solely for the win. Fuzzy jump into HKD has already been documented elsewhere and established as good, so he'll probably go to it in a more serious situation.
start your 236k while dashing, and then PRC forward during the startup frames, you’ll keep the momentum so just use 214h, or really any other move you want with the momentum :)
There's something really cool about seeing these former +R locked characters fighting eachother in strive

Right?
It's validating 😅

Any long range character gives her problems. Can barely interact with them. You only hope they make a mistake.
Gobou:"should I find other places to use meter on this character? Nah, blow it all on 3 Bonding and Dissolving's every time."
Late to the party but it keeps them from bursting. Also it’s sexy
triple RC from A.B.A 😰??
Purple carrying the momentum from Tilt into Bond was hella cool, too!
Gobou is just so good. I always respect players who make low tier characters look legit broken.

Not bursting and dying with it on a low damage character as ABA is craaaaazy. I know it's scary to get baited by RC, but that didn't even happen once.
