I am deeply moved. My great grandfather, his daughter and doughtie-in-law perished in western Ukrane, shot by the Germans into trenches dug near Dubno. This song, written in Hebrew by Hannah Szenes, a volunteer paratrooper who was executed by the Hungarian Fascists, was my son's favorite when he was young.
Wow, this video brought out emotions of both amazement and pain. It's a reminder of our history and a wake-up call to strive towards unity and become one humanity. Let's hope that one day, we can all come together as one. Brings tears to my eyes.

It was damaged early on during the invasion, in a very ironic move indeed by an invader claiming to be denazifying the land. To say nothing of their war crimes and atrocities against the people.
@@elenrochlin4153 Yes - that's the place. Thank you. (Yeah, I could've searched myself, but .... 😞 ) "Eloquent landmark damage" ? I'm not how long it would take me to combine those words, but I believe you're talking about things like: • the theatre that had "children" written in large Russian letters on the pavement so it wouldn't get bombed. • the cultural center 100m from any other building that took a direct hit from a missile • the telegram videos (one of the more macabre channels) showing the Russians dumping civilian bodies into mass graves. (The women being nude.) I suppose we could also mention calls intercepted by SSU where wives encouraged their husbands to rape Ukrainian women. (I never got my head wrapped around that arrangement.) This song ELI ELI, My God, my God, a cry from a deeply wounded soul was composed by Hannah Szenes (often anglicized as Hannah Senesh or Chanah Senesh; Hebrew: חנה סנש; Hungarian: Szenes Anna; 17 July 1921 - 7 November 1944) was a poet and a Special Operations Executive (SOE) member. She was one of 37 Jewish SOE recruits from Mandate Palestine parachuted by the British into Yugoslavia during the Second World War to assist anti-Nazi forces and ultimately in the rescue of Hungarian Jews about to be deported to the German death camp at Auschwitz. Szenes was arrested at the Hungarian border by Hungarian gendarmes. She was imprisoned and tortured but refused to reveal details of her mission. She was eventually tried and executed by firing squad. She is regarded as a national heroine in Israel but has largely been forgotten in her birthplace of Hungary, according to The Guardian. In Israel, her poetry is widely known, and the Yad Hana kibbutz, as well as several streets, are named after her.
