We bought one of these a couple of months ago, reconditioned from Meaco to take with us in our motorhome. Last summer we had a 5 day trip ruined when temperatures pushed 40 degrees and we spent our time looking for shade. The fan won't make it any cooler but maybe a bit more bearable.
Thanks for the review. This fan currently sells for £70 on QVC but I'm not convinced whether it's worth the price? I guess I can always try it and send it back in 30 days if I change my mind
Just had this recommended to me - apart from the design and the noise levels, is it any different from a standard fan? Does it actually cool the room temp (hoping I heard right)
A Google search to buy this product keeps leading me to UK websites (I'm in the US). I clicked your US product page link and it went to a miscellaneous Amazon page but not the product page.
I've just ordered this but a concern is lots of reviews saying usb issues. I'm not technically minded, is it not possible to just plug it into the wall?
@@geekanoids No worries. I would assume (probably bad to assume) that if it can run off USB from a PC, it can run off a powerbank. But that is assuming the 1056 has the same functionality!
Nice review as always buddy. The problem is the price. At nearly £100 it's too much. Yes it's quieter but it's just a fan. It blows air and nothing more. Honestly I see it's price point at £39.95. I just can't see the money in there.
@@sepiagamer99 Keep me updated on it. I've heard of people mentioning it happening weeks/a month in, so it could still crop up, even though mine happened in the first few hours. Considering getting the 1056 since it might just be a design flaw with the way the 650 oscillates. The smaller and larger fans of the series have the entire base move instead of a tiny plastic neck.

What kind of timer does it have? Is it a countdown timer or a 24 hr timer?
It’s a countdown.
Does the Meaco 650 lower the temperature when it reaches 32 degrees
This solely moves air, so can help lower temperatures but not as effective as the Meaco air conditioners.

How powerful is the fan? How far can it blow ( you can feel the air movement)?

It moves air very efficiently. No active cooling though.

Yes absolutely, just use a mains plug with USB ports in it, it doesn't need to be plugged into a computer.
Will the 1056 run from USB? (i.e a large powerbank so it can be portable)

Mine is going for replacement due to wierd noise ( faint grinding like ) . Only happens on rotation though
