  • Ioniq and Niro transmission fluid change it is quite easy actually but yet still great to be described in this step by step video.
    Enjoy 👋😎
    We are usin the amsoil DCT 75w 100% synthetic wich is a great gear oil for dual clutch transmission.

    I wanted to see *ev* automatic transmission fluid change, regardless how simple it might be. U should take time to show the oil number and even if U don't have should show us what kind of pump we can use to refill transmission fluid. Plus, ev automatic transmission fluid would be even simpler to change than hybrid (I would guess) but still show to us directly pointing out where it is and should state exact torque spec stated, if you have been properly trained, U should know the drain and fill plugs must be tightened according to the manufacturer's torque spec!

Dealer said this is a wet system but then showed me the right part number which is "Kia manual transmission fluid!" So I bought redline MT and put it in. Feels like I'm getting a vibration though around 3k rpm but that could be me going from 0w16 to 5w30 oil (what the last gen used). Where did you find out that redline is approved for Hyundai's?

I've only got a pair of rhino ramps that I use at home which give me about 8.5" lift... after removing the undertray i can just about guide and position my ratchet with an extension to the bolts, but i'm afraid i won't be able to reposition them after cleaning/refilling the reservoir and might drop the bolts and lose them somewhere, so i'm hesitant to actually commit to the job!

      Its just how the car drives... not a smooth engagement/release of the friction brakes, a bit clumsy engagement of the gas engine, and a rougher shift out of first than you'd expect given how smooth every other gear shifts...

Jerky transmission while engine is cold is more noticeable. My Ioniq has 125,000km so far, haven't changed spark plugs nor DCT. Only Brake fluid (actuator) and engine oil every service.

      The TSB for the Kia Niro (upposed to be the same drivetrain) says:
      Drain Plug Tightening Torque: 32.5 - 43.4 lb.ft (44.1 - 58.8 N.m, 4.5 - 6.0 kgf.m)
      Filler Plug Tightening Torque: 43.4 - 57.8 lb.ft (58.9 - 78.5 N.m, 6.0 - 8.0 kgf.m)

    My mechanic found it to be an imposible task to remove the 17mm fill plug on my 2017 Kia Niro. Has anybody else had this issue or can you offer a tip? Does it require a special tool?

    • @yurivic
      @yurivic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I easily removed 17mm at home. Maybe your mechanic used a wrong size socket and damaged the outside part of the bolt the way my mechanic did to my 17mm oil drain bolt I ended up replacing.

      If your mechanic can't do it and think it is impossible, maybe you should find a new mechanic? Or maybe you should do it yourself? I am no mechanic by any means, only weekend DIYer and I was able to remove it when changing the fluid myself!
