- After watching Tiger King and seeing what happened to Travis Maldonado, it just broke my heart and I wanted to know more about him, unfortunately there is not much out there about him or his life. So I searched for some footage and compiled this video from videos from Joe exotic's youtube channel.

@Hellmark Channel No need to get your knickers in a knot. The statement was loosely based on my observation of these clips and that's what they reminded me of. I did mention ignoring the sex and drugs which is obviously a part of the manipulation. I was not there I just watched a documentary so I really can't be that sure of what went down with them. Coz some ppl say he was happy and others say he was depressed.

My heart genuinely hurts for travis family and friends back home , he seemed a lovely young lad with so much fun to be had and life to live , my sister was a drug addict and it really is a hard thing for all family and friends of the person with the addiction , my sister also moved away from her family to a bad situation that fuelled her addiction , she died 2 years ago and I wish I had done more ( she had been clean 9 years before her last relapse) this makes me sad to watch so I can’t imagine how they feel 💔

Are u that small minded?? Think about it....according to all the media he gave him gifts like vehicles, guns, drugs, etc...I highly doubt he gave him physical cash. He wanted to keep him dependent on him....I was a joe supporter at first but the more I learned about him I think he is right where he needs to be. Sure he may have been a broken man that lived with rejection from his own family... but he took his pain and turned it into a tool of becoming a manipulator. He killed I innocent animals so he never turned away an animal donation, along with treating them bad and not giving them proper care or the space to live a good life, ( granted from the show his spot looked better then Carol's cages she had for the animals. .....and then so he wouldnt be alone he found young broken boys that he could become their "saving grace, or Jesus", by showing them a world where he promised them a never ending supply of expensive gifts and drugs and when his money would run low, he would sell another animal and where they were addicted to drugs he would hang over their head that all that would stop if they even tried to have a life outside of the zoo. I am not saying the other " characters" in the documentry were any better or any worse and I do believe that the under cover agents enlisted Jeff's help by getting sound bites of a confession that he wanted carol dead and illegal spending with the parks money... when he ran for office. In the beginning maybe his heart was in the right place after his brother died and he wanted to have a beautiful place to take care of the animals that his brother adored, but somewhere he lost his path and got caught up in the ways to make alot of extra money illegally. Then the greed took over and and he masterminded a way to run his place so everyone would center their lives around him for their own survival because he found broken ppl and promised them a roof to live under in exchange for helping in the zoo, which could have been a awesome stepping stone to get their lives back on track but he kept them stuck with their next to nothing pay, inwhich he took back for utilities and could barely afford food. This kept them in a position to where they could never get ahead. He would sell them a pipe dream but in reality they were used and abused. Of course this is all hearsay that the media could have twisted but when so many ppl have then same story there has to be some truth to it and then finding bones from the lions that were still young and healthy he killed to make more room so he could accept more donations because I would predict that alot of times when ppl gave the animals to joe the also gave him some sort of monetary gift to pay for their care!sorry this is so long but I just read these comments and shake my head at the simple minded comments thinking they know it all, and maybe I am a know it all too but it doesnt take a brain surgeon when you really listen to all to all the stories to figure out that yes he may have been set up but he was a cruel man to the ppl and the animals that he pretended to adore. I just hope that he is the first of many to get taken off their thrown.....carol needs to go and so does jeff....I really hope the stories about doc antle killing Cubs is false because it's true these animals wouldnt survive back In the wild and his place seems to be the cleanest set up and his family seems to really adore the animals. . ...and if he has 4 wives that is his business as long as their not being abused or held against their will.

James Rice that look of surprise is not what you think. It’s literally your brain shutting down and your facial expressions being triggered by trauma. Travis wouldn’t have known a thing. That much velocity through the brain at close range...he was dead five minutes before he shot himself. The velocity causes soft tissue to open a vortex, only the clap back together within a fraction of a second. He was dead....nerves just functioning afterwards cause eyes to widen and mouths to open wide or even clench. Twitching throughout the entire body is also common.

To take a young kid in and manipulate them, stick them with drugs that are terrible and keep them from leaving is beyond sad. Did joe shove the drugs in him no. But as a husband and a “lover” i would never bring drugs around my man if i’m the only person who has the ability to go get them. I would be encouraging sobriety, and looking into rehabs. Joe had the upper hand at all times in this relationship & never used it for good.
