Would love to see a curated “Smack Yo Lips” snack box of Evelyn’s favorite treats from the series. Do a super limited quantity run. Maybe during the holiday season. It would be a hit!
I seem to have developped (slight) misophonia in my (older/wiser) age...but I live for this! Smack Yo Lip is the only eating noise I will welcome happily in my life!
It's so cool to see chevda show up on this smack yo lip! Chevda is really common in India and I grew up eating it, and we do sometimes add it on top of other things but my fave is to put some finely diced onion, tomato, cilantro, and lime on top of it, especially if it's fried lentil heavy! So delicious!
went back to India to visit dear friends over the Christmas/NY break and since its winter, i got my hands on 2 packages of milk cake, like proper Kalakhand as they'd send out with wedding invitations (thus in winter, it's a seasonal thing), and I've been snacking one each evening, delighting my soul with soft sugary crumbly goodness :))) love to see you back!
Ayyyyye! I was in Kenya for Christmas! Before heading to Ghana for New Year’s celebrations (my birthday 🥳)! I’m going back to Kenya for my New Year birthday next year! EEEEYE loved it!!!! 🥰 🎊 🎉
You had me cracking uppp! About the tomato chips, I remember squirting ketchup on my crisps growing up in Kenya lol esp the freshly fried ones on the street, it hits different that way lol
Hey Evelyn, I absolutely love this Smack Yo Lip video!!!!! Some of the snacks presented reminds me of when my family spent the last two weeks of April in Costa Rica last year, where I really fell in love with tostones (fried plantain chips). They have such a variety of flavors, which came in handy especially as my Crimson Wave kicked in the first few days 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. As of the moment, I can't stop munching on these ginger chews from Prince of Peace, which I buy from my local Burlington Coat Factory every once in a blue moon. I started off with the Mango ones, but I've incorporated Lychee & Blood Orange into my snacking repertoire. From me, they get 5 SMACKIES ALL AROUND 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. Happy Snacking y'all ✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾
You're so right about it being like a jelly consistency! Ketchup tastes different but it matches well with their homemade type fries because its thicker. It almost tastes all more homemade, idk. I'm a Heinz girl though
I haven't had ketchup chips/crisps before but since they're made of potatoes, as are fries and fries are dipped in ketchup, that's probably why it's a popular flavor there! It does seem weird when I try to imagine what it tastes like though. Potatoes and tomatoes got a good thing goin on.
The chevda reminds me of something we have in India! It's like Bhel Puri mix (some deep fried gram flour(?) sticks, some nuts, just a bunch of crispies, sometimes with raisins maybe, super spicy and pungent). There's another one similar to Bhel Puri mix that's more like Chevda (everything's bigger) but I forget the name -- still, cool to see some similarities!
I was so mad the internet/FragTok made me buy a rose and cumin perfume from Le Labo that was so hyped up (Rose 31). I wore it once and immediately felt nauseated 🤢. I ended up throwing it away. Thankfully it was only a sample size, but NEVER again. And I love cumin in food, I love curry, but perfume? No ma'am 😔
Good to see you as always🙏🏽 I been smackin on some regular degular oat nature valley bars lately because depression but you’ve inspired me to step my game up😂
I'm also eating while watching this and at 4:10 I thought you said Cheese and Honey flavour. That's a unique flavor I've not heard of. * looks it up * Mister Potato, a Malaysian brand has Cheese and Honey potato chips. Potato chip flavor combos feel like they can be endless! Makes me wonder about one of those freestyle drink machines but for potato chip flavors.
I think cheese and onion crisps are pretty popular in the UK as well. Meanwhile here in USAmerica I'm resisting the urge to hoard my current favorite chip: Flaming Hot Cheddar and Sour Cream Ruffles (because I would absolutely eat a big bag of them in a day and I really should not be allowed to do that).
Hey Cuzzin! That dahl one sounds like it would be my fave as well. I love cheddar and sour cream ruffles so I was hoping the cheese one was good lol also love ginger beer so that drink sounds like it would hit too! I'm not much of a snacker unfortunately so no recommendations here lol. Have you guys been active on Patreon again recently?? I took a hiatus but I'd happily jump back on if you're rocking and rolling again.
@@noovernightguests - Chiiiilllleeee...TJ has SOOOO MANY PROBLEMATIC SNACKS (like their triple ginger snaps) I usually don't even bring a cart with me so I can only buy what I can carry! 😩😆😅😂
Whoo hoo! Smack Yo Lip is baaack! I feel like, I would enjoy all these snacks but I don't know how my body would like the spice. 🥵 So good to see you having fun again!
Kenya! Yaay! So happy that you are in the Motherland. That chevda reminds of those snacks that are sold at Indian candy stores in bulk. I am curious as to which sweetener they use in their "zero sugar" beverages. ❓Looking forward to the sweet smacks.❤
I'm at my relatives' place in South India right now, which means food: amazing, everything else: 🫠 But I'm loving all the crunchy, sweet, spicy, lemony stuff here. My favorite is thattai, a deep-fried crisp disc of flour, I think gram flour. You can break it and put it in your meal. Banana chips also reign supreme. I got to see how they're made, too! A fire underneath, a wok filled halfway with coconut oil, sizzling, green bananas fed into a cutting machine until the wok is full. They come out a golden yellow.
Evelynnnn you should try the halal haribo gummies from any Kenyan supermarket…..they are sooooo much better and also the Heinz ketchup in the glass bottles is amazingggggg
I'll slide part 2 y'alls way on Friday afternoon 💛
Thank you for staring this with us! 😀🇰🇪

Love it! I had the captions on and when you spoke in an accent, it said "prim and proper Kenyan accent". Hilarious!!
Yes, that was the best!
What!? So funny!

🤯🤯🤯 now you're onto something...
Yassss!!! Absolutely!!!!! I would love to know!!!
Not me, a fellow Kenyan, realising the way we say 'chevda' very much gives Kenyan accent 😂😂😂 Love this smack yo' lip home edition!🇰🇪💪🏾
It’s so good to see you progressing Evelyn! Been following you for a long time now
I’m Kenyan, of course I know what every single one of these snacks are 🤣 The way I miss chevdaaa!

I love it when I have a fun little video like this to watch during my night-time skincare routine

I was just thinking that I wanted to watch someone try African snacks! The algorithm is giving me everything I need today
I've been obsessed with Trader Joe's dried mango lately. I also mix together their dried cherries and almonds. SO GOOD.
"CheX MIX, trail MIX" has me screaming!!! Love Love Love this!!!
we are so blessed this month 😭😭
You had me cracking uppp! About the tomato chips, I remember squirting ketchup on my crisps growing up in Kenya lol esp the freshly fried ones on the street, it hits different that way lol
Next time I travel back, I will be stocking up on chevda for my salads. Such a good idea !!!
Praise be! Another Smack Yo Lip video! Thanks Cousin :)

saying "it's giving peanut" about roasted peanuts is my exact brand of humor, apparently. I can't stop saying it to myself and giggling.
Welcome home Evelyn!🇰🇪 Love that you’ve enjoyed some of our local snacks😄 Chevda is a fave!
Yay! Always looking forward to these!
The way i immediately clicked this video
lol. The blue bag. No plastic bags. I was just there last year.
We call Chevda "Bombay Mix" in the UK.
Evelynnnnn!!!!! How you know I be sitting in bed with a case of the depressos NEEEDING a smack yo lip!?!?!? ❤
bro thisssss
🫂
That part
I bought some ketchup flavored crisp this past August in Scotland. They were ok but I couldn’t get over the fact that they were “Ketchup” flavored!
"are we togethahh?" immediately transported me back to Kenya with my wildlife management professor lol
Cousinnnnnn happy new new!!!! Good to see ya!!!
I love your videos. Appreciate your work, thank you xxx
the short cheese soliloquy brought so much joy😊❤
I love the saying "it remains to be seen" haha
Yay a Smack Your Lip video!!!!🙌🏾 I've missed these and from the motherland,we love to see it! 🇰🇪. Love from a 🇬🇭 girl internet cousin 😊
Kenyan Chevda by tropical heat is my favourite chevda. Tropical heat crisps are like the national crisps 😅😅
5/5 for the CHEVDA is giving chev-DUH because it's so good!!!!!
beverages and/or foodstuffs are back! yess!!
You make my day Ev!!
I knew that honey comb snack was gonna be good!!
This was amazing! Amazing accents. Amazing review. My mom and I love watching your videos. Can’t wait for part two
Yaasss here for it! And I might be first!!
2:32 wonder if lemon is being used interchangeably for lime. I’m Kenyan, and both my parents use “lemon” to mean lemon or lime.
You're so right about it being like a jelly consistency! Ketchup tastes different but it matches well with their homemade type fries because its thicker. It almost tastes all more homemade, idk. I'm a Heinz girl though

Exactly! potatoes and tomatoes belong together
oooh! the chevda is definitely a relative of Indian/South Asian chiwda(which I grew up with!) would definitely recommend that for a taste test toooo 😊
Yup we have it in the Caribbean too.
We call it Chiblo.
It's good!

I was thinking Chakri but apparently in India it has the same name--Chivda/Chevda
Wish there was a way to send you snacks from South Africa. Think you'd have a good time with them
Grew up eating so many of these, oh the memories! Also chasing spicy chevda with tangawizi is wild. 😂
Karibu home...jienjoy vizii😀
Ooh I want to try the chili lemon crisps
Ohh, I hope they gave you cassava chips. I love those.
I don't normally watch people eat, but when I do, it's Evelyn FTI 😂❤️
We love Stoney❤❤
Looking forward to the sweet portion! Happy 2024!
3:23 OH MY GOD, Someone else gets SPICY B-O!! I been telling people about that forever and they all look at me crazy

You are hilarious. Thank you for sharing.
Love this!
Good to see you as always🙏🏽 I been smackin on some regular degular oat nature valley bars lately because depression but you’ve inspired me to step my game up😂
At 6:45 you sound like King Julian. 😂
I didn't realise the British empire influence made it to the times of cheese and onion chips😂 which are very common here btw
I'm also eating while watching this and at 4:10 I thought you said Cheese and Honey flavour. Love these "Smack Yo Lip" episodes!!! So informative...yet hilarious...😂❤
These videos are peak you tube! This is how it’s supposed to be!!
Sooo good!
chevda is originally from south asia! it's eaten as a snack and also as a topping on curd rice, sambar rice, etc
Hey Evelyn👋🏾Looking nice and warm in the motherland! Thank you for the video ❤
I clicked on here so fast. Our cousin is back!!!!
So glad to see another video! Thank you for giving us Hashtag SmackYoLip!
My heart is overjoyed when I watch these videos!
Chevda is the best! I think the potato crisps just don’t have enough dusting on them. They need to do better
Yaaaaay a new Evelyn video on my timeline!
I didnt watch the video yet and i thumbs up lol. Don’t worry i watch the video! Hold up in Kenya! Where our video vlog!
I enjoyed this so much! You're making me miss home. In part two add Masala chips, mandazi, Kaimati and mahamri

Not the cheese episode 😂🤣🤣
I loved cheese and onion in primary school, literally obsessed
Wooohoooo, looking forward to the next one! 😄
Thanks for making this video, it’s great.
I've been snacking on Trader Joe's Cinnamon Bun inspired Kettle Popcorn!😋🤤
It's addictive! 😩
Sounds good
Be careful with those snacks from Trader Joes. I found the carrot cake sandwich cookies and it was OVER.
