So, I got interested in what damage to a vehicle actually does, and what the cost is. Someone went really in depth on it, and posted to Reddit. The link will be at the end, but long story short is your tractor needs repaired, because at 100% damage, that is at nothing on the bar, your tractor has 30% less power, and uses 30% more fuel. Your harvester gets 40% less yield. The header matters less, because it just reduces the working speed. You really need to spend the money repairing your vehicles. Otherwise, you will end up spending much more in fuel. There is also more wear/ damage on older vehicles with more hours on them, but ultimately it shouldn't matter that much. I just say that because if you end up with a spare half million sometime, it might be worth it to replace your 9R with a brand new one. It's also why you might notice your older vehicle needing repaired far more frequently than a brand new one. That said, you should still be able to get something like 3-4 IRL hours out of an old (60+yrs) heavily used (500+ hrs) tool from 100% condition to 0% condition.
I can't post the link to the Reddit post, but I can post the title of it for you to Google if you so desire. FS22: Repair your Vehicles! Up to 40% loss
And if you just want the TL;DR: At 100% damage (maintenance, not paint): 40% lower yield on harvesters 30% less torque/horsepower on powered vehicles 30% MORE fuel consumption 30% lower max speed on anything w a working speed (harvester header) 30% more seed used (planter/seeder) Note, the harvester being damaged is what reduces yields, not the header. The header being damaged just reduces how fast you can go. Which 30% on most headers means you go 4-5 instead of 6 mph. Not sure what that is in km.
Repairs at 10% damage cost 1% of vehicle purchase cost. Repairs at 50% or more cost 20% or more of vehicle purchase cost. You make the best Fs22 videos on TH-cam.
This challenge should include planting soybeans every 2nd corn harvest. That’s what my grandpa does with his corn fields. It’s realistic and it adds a touch of variety
Idea for another challenge: Sheep farming 10 year 5 million Rules of the Challenge: -Own 3 plots starting out (including farm house) -When you lease an item you must keep it until you own it (lease to own mod) -Not allowed to flip fields -No cash crops, only crop for feeding the sheep (can grow other crops for other animals that you wish to add to the farm) -Crop Destruction on -Start with farmhouse, 1 tractor, 1 mower, 1 grass field, 1 empty field, 1 sheep house and 10 baby sheep -200,000 Maximum loan amount (must be paid down monthly) -Start with $15,000 -Periodic Plowing on -Stones on -Weeds on Productions allowed to help maintain fields
I always felt the one thing missing was goals and challenges. It was the best part of roller coaster tycoon, to beat the game you had to do new things you weren't used to. kept it more interesting.
@@FarmingSimSWU to elaborate on this. the way I was getting Ideal yield and perfect PF score was, 1. Harvest 2. Mulch 3. Subsoil 4. Stone Pick 5. Seed 6. Roll 7. Lime/Nitrogen 8. Lime/Weed (after first growth stage using the weed sense sprayer).
May have missed it or forgotten it from the first two years. I know you're broke AF at the moment lol. But can you not use the stone crusher to make you lime? Might be a cheaper way to get lime and put the stones back in, plus the ones you already collected and dumped.
Jesus H C! You must repair your Combine above all! 80% or better or you lose so much yield. There is a break-even point, but for the volume you are pushing you are losing tons of yield on your large fields. You are riding your equipment next to death and that is pretty sad and infuriating. Does SWU stand for Sucks With Upkeep? Pull them up !!! I love your content and your style dude, but this is something you need to look into dude. Keep on!
@@FarmingSimSWU haha nice I’m up in munising. Been kinda toying with the idea of making a map from like limestone/trenary area with holmquists feed mill and trenary home bakery and stuff (just gotta find time and learn ho)
This is such a hard watch. Not much fun, watching you do terrible decisions, waste money like trash and making simple mistakes at every turn. No proper planning, no focus. I wonder, you must've played this game for couple thousand hours already, so is it just ADHD and full lack of focus? You focus on small talk more than the game? I know a 12 yo gamer who focus better and make better decisions, and he has played the game for less than 60 hours. Sorry bro, getting brutal again, but it's true. Are you burning your candle at both ends? A burnout perhaps? You say you enjoy this series the most, yet you seem to focus on it the least. I don't get it.
@@FarmingSimSWU I'm sorry mate. I'm a bit cranky at times. I know I'm blunt and overreact sometimes. Please accept my apology. Anyway, I'm still enjoying your content, a lot. You're doing a great job at creating interesting content for FS22 😎👍

Repairs at 50% damage are 10% of cost actually. All the info is in the help menu. Keep up the great work 👍

So no wool production?
@@FarmingSimSWU wool production would be allowed, that would be the main source of income in theory
I’m obsessed with this series! It’s so good! Keep up the amazing work!❤
Thanks. 🙏
A wise person once told me -
"When you cut one corner, you create 2 more."
That kinze is a direct drill. So no need to cultivate at all. It also increases the PF score and no stones
Casually sitting here yelling at you to remember fuel for the harvester and get the rest of the corn sold lol
no kidding lol
This is funny
I’m also from upper Michigan and can confirm the amount of snow over the last couple years has dropped at least from when I was a kid 😂
Not sure if I hope that trend continues or not, that's a large and touchy subject for some people though. So I'll stop there lol
No, we got all your snow down here in Missouri this year. We had over 24 inches out of 1 storm. Next year y’all can keep it.
Dang!!!
You should visit Buffalo, NY!
This is a great series would love to see year 4 soon
If you buy a small flatbed trailer you can hall all the seed and fertilizer to the field in one trip instead of multiple trips save you a lot of time
But I’m broke 🤣 I might do that soon!

Lol love the content.. but brother.. fix yo shit.. lmao 😂
Love the vids keep up the good work
Appreciate it
I will say after doing some testing with this challenge subsoiling in between harvest and planting is absolutely worth it.

I wish that giants would be able to implement courseplay on console along with other quality of life mods in fs22.
100%
The mars map that just came out on console has been fun but I think pc already had it
Concider a wagon to cart extra seeds and fertilizer around the map.
No diversity in crops, no passive income generators, no veggies.
were these among the restrictions?
Yep! Just corn. Can’t produce anything with it either. I go into a deep dive of the rules in the year 1 video.
Have you tried the fuel warning mod it sounds when your really low on fuel
I have not. I'm gonna look that up!
@@FarmingSimSWU I use it and I enjoy it cause I have the same problem have stuff sat in front of the bar lol
is there a year 4?

Michigan here too :) i live in south west Michigan

lots of back and forth. might consider buying a cheap truck and trailer to speed up your transport of products
Its a good idea. Just worried about over spending.
@@FarmingSimSWU old chevy with a flatbed would be ideal and save $ not needing a trailer
Try sunflowers 🌻 or eventually soybeans
That's not the challange though. Go back and watch year one. He can ONLY plant and harvest corn at this point, nothing else.

I’m aiming for next week. Then busting these out quicker…
