From the last time I rode these, they're still in extremely good condition for 25 years. Somehow people think that these need a mod (not in the comments, just people in other forums I think), even though they're perfectly fine. If they do get modded, I hope Sigma does the modernization and does it in the "Mall Ambassador-style" slap-on.
I really, really hope that these won't be modded into OTIS. If they really want to mod it into OTIS, they can simply choose the Korean version of it, a.k.a Sigma's Muse MRL lineup.
Well the Korean version mod is only available through Jaya Kencana aka Sigma, and OTIS only has the crappy Chinese mods. Heard that Jaya Kencana still maintains these elevators so if these will be modernized soon then I really hope Jaya Kencana will do the mod (I hope the result will be like the modernization at Hotel Atlet Century Park).

@@idl3k_elev : Well, that's what I meant 😂😂 Sigma Muse MRLs are basically Korean OTIS Gen2s, so I hope that they will modernize it to that, instead of calling OTIS to mod it with boring results.
Here's something interesting which I've just recently found out from a Korean languaged wiki. Ever wondering why the current Sigma elevators that we have since around 2012 are so different than they were before when it comes to quality and perhaps reliability? Here's the truth, OTIS Korea (the parent company of Sigma) shut down its local factory in Changwon in 2013 after the site was sold to LG Electronics, and production moved to China, so all Sigma elevators as well as OTIS elevators that were sold in South Korea came from there. This explains why the quality is so different now, and there have been cases where some Sigma elevators suffered breakdowns and malfunctions, especially in Singapore where the brand is currently banned from tendering in new housing projects due to countless problems. The question is, why did OTIS Korea moved its production to another country that is sometimes known for its "cheapo" and "flimsy" quality? Why would they "downgrade" their quality with cheap Chinese quality? However there is a good news. Last year OTIS Korea has opened a new factory in Songdo International City in Incheon, South Korea and local production is said to have resumed. With this news, I really hope that Sigma would also resume its production at this new factory and their quality would improved. I want the Korean made Sigma back!
@@idl3k_elev : Hang on there - Sigma only had a factory, which is in Changwon? I thought they have another one. And yeah, I hope that they will be able to bring back the Korean Sigma.
Anyway, I am curious on why Sigma decided to replace the LCD displays outside the scenic elevators in this shopping mall to orange LED ones, while the old displays aren't even old yet.
Probably because the old displays got burnt out or something, not really sure what happened with them though. I think it was kinda weird having a MiniTouch LCD indicator outside and a bog standard LED indicator inside. It would've been better if they were installed in the opposite way (i.e. LCD inside, LED outside)
Agreed with you. These elevators are still going strong for 24 years, and I really hope they will last much longer. Man, this place sure brings a lot of memories to me.

IMO the current LED display for the big scenic elevators are better. The LCD displays just don't really work that well
Man these elevators are in relatively decent condition. Just hope they don't get modernized anytime soon.

What happen to TG97 Elevators?
Stopped filming elevators due to an undisclosed reason.
