Most people really don't understand what a total beast Andrew Wiggins can be offensively if given the reigns to go out and really eat on the regular. In the final 32 games of the 2017 season (the number of games played after LaVine tore his ACL and was out for the season) Wiggins averaged 25.9ppg. In his career he has 46 games with 30pts or more. And he also has 9 games with 40pts or more... When Wiggins is asked by Kerr to go get it, he can, he does, and he will continue to do it. But, as of right now, that's not what he was normally being asked to do. He is mostly tasked to tame the best non-Center/PF scorer on the team. And then score within the translations. And that's what he's doing. Rarely, do you see them setting up specific plays, repeatedly. Wiggins (28) is just now reaching the middle of his prime. And, IMO he's still got levels that nobody's seen yet. At Minnesota Wiggins had 4 HCs and 4 different systems in 5yrs. How is someone supposed to set roots and grow as an overall player with that kind of visceral turnover at the top? Especially after being a 19yr old one and done'r in College. He was raw, and almost directionless as far as organized basketball knowledge, and usage within the game, as most 19yr old, freak
Every time I see Wiggins play I think he has the same skill set and body type/athleticism as Jayson Tatum, but not the mentality. Except in the Finals, when he outplayed him. I am glad he found a place of no pressure where he can win tho. He has still had a good career despite never living up to the hype.
Yes Tatum and Wiggins have similar skill sets. There is only one ball and the highest usage on the team has to be Curry so Wiggins and Klay have to score within the flow with lower usage rates. So Andrew does have to sacrifice some scoring for team mentality. High usage guys like Tatum if you pressure him like Andrew can without fouling is priceless and his basketball superpower.
You got it. Since Wiggins isn't the primary scorer for the Warriors, he can spend all his energy stopping the primary wing scorer. Wiggins is your ideal third option: Extremely well-conditioned plug-and-play player that has the talent base and team-first mentality and can pop off on both ends when the team needs him to plug the holes.

Tatum is a lockdown defender despite heavy offensive usage, and the same is expected of every great wing player. Wiggins can jump over most people and get to the rim at will to either finish or draw fouls, and he's a legit 6'8 in a league where Centers are that height now. But he's content to be a 4th option, which is totally fine, but it actually would have helped the Warriors a lot this year of he was always aggressive instead of coasting for long stretches or settling for fades because he doesn't want to get hit.
I wish Wiggins had more of Kobe mindset or at least a killer mentality . If so, I think he’s be the best athlete in the league. He’s a good defender and that’s all he’s missing is that killer mentality

i like to watch his defensive highlights, especially on ball defense.
