My best friend Hannah and I went on our first holiday together to Golden Sands (Varna) Bulgaria! Even though the weather was on and off, we still managed to laugh and enjoy all week long!

Varna is great and a lot cheaper than Golden sands.

Nice video :) I'm off on Friday, hope the weather is a bit better! BTW, that MacDonalds in Golden Sands is an absolute RIP OFF! The one in Varna is a quarter of the price..... it worked out @ around £1.10 for a Big Mac
Had a superb holiday, weather was ROASTING hot...... on the last day I tripped over a kerb, landed nose first on the pavement! 6 stitches, busted nose, lost a few teeth and cost me £550. Great place but a damned trip hazard ;) th-cam.com/video/6geDBJINCOg/w-d-xo.html Best place to eat is in Varna...... get off the 409 bus at the cathedral, turn left and walk down to the bazar (they call it BAZA) there's a fruit market there and the best kebab I have ever tasted in my life (bar none) cost 2.80 leva (about £1.30) not many tourists there, mostly locals, so prices are dirt cheap. I got a KILO of cherries at the fruit market for 1.2 leva (60 PENCE!!). I've been twice to Golden Sands but will never go back, next time I'll go to Varna..... a third of the price for everything (compared to the resort) even water was only 0.19 cents for a bottle (compared to 1.09 leva at the resort) a BIG difference. A big word of advice to anybody going to Golden Sands...... watch the pavement, there are so many trip hazards! They build the kerbs so high to prevent flooding when the rain comes down (that's what I was told) but I think they do it to keep the medics in a job. There's an ambulance on every street corner for a reason ;) Jesus, even the Hotel wasn't safe..... there was an old guy perched up on a high bar stool...... he leant back and the bar stool AND his head hit the concrete! I rushed over to him (being a first aider) and told him not to move (I really thought he had cracked his skull open) but it turned out he was absolutely fine, not even a bruise, his large mop of hair (or wig) cushioned the impact. Anyhoo....... great holiday, met some lovely people, had a great time riding the waves half a mile out at sea with an ex marine I met over there...... everything was spot on until the nose dive onto the pavement and that was pretty much holiday over for me. The nose wasn't too bad but the severely grazed / fractured kneecap was a bummer and the "teeth" (or lack of them) made it slightly hard to eat ;) Glad it happened on the last day though..... I wouldn't have enjoyed 2 weeks in Bulgaria laid up in bed.

BTW.... the bus from Golden Sands to Varna (409) costs 3 Leva each........ you can barter with the taxi drivers and they will take you in for 3 Leva (per person)..... 20 Leva for two people is a rip off...... just keep saying "NO THANKS! I want to take the bus" and they will drop down to actual bus fare rates or in some cases even charge cheaper than the bus.... just stick your ground.

I would suggest Varna , unless you want noisy nightlife, then go to Golden Sands. Golden Sands is a purpose built commercialised seaside resort. Varna is a seaside city catering for 380,000 locals, which keeps the prices down ;-)

this was golden sands and its a resort of Varna the peak there is summer, you can have alot fun when everything is open i've gotten pissed drunk alot of times there XDD and the middle of the city is very good, Varna is summer city
