When the patch went live I was able to play against pc as an Xbox player, even on my normal 30 ping felt doable. Now whenever I play a PC player I cannot get a tackle, complete a pass, or even get a shot successfully without a defender teleporting to block the shot. I’m not saying I’m good at all, but the first 3-4 days post patch were the most fun I’ve had playing this game and it just doesn’t feel like it’s the same game

yep, i play on pc but i have consistent 60 ping bc i live far away from the server and after this new soft patch the game feels so much worse even against console players
If ur on console never play a pc guy man. The advantage they have is so clear. Way better gameplay than us
There is no doubt EA did something, this whole week i was struggling I barely finished my champ, my player barely moved and defender as aggressive as gorilla
I played Champs, Rivals (Div 3), and SB today. Gameplay feels basically like it did pre-patch. My defenders were bouncing the ball right back at the attackers constantly, my through-balls were getting sent straight to the opponent, passes were not going to where I was pointing, etc.
Attacking AI runs are almost nonexistent. Players randomly slow down when you’re running towards contested balls. Defenders are catching up to fast attackers a lot more again.
I have been losing games to people who are objectively worse. Game feels 💩 again
Rebonuds were always a problem even more so with the patch. I did notice throughballs being weaker now but they were massively OP before that. Defenders do NOT catch up to my strikers, neither do my defenders catch up to theirs.
I knew something was up this weekend. The gameplay was so heavy and Ai based again
Not sure if I just suck or they really did change something, but everything feels slower now. Again, could just be getting used to the patch, but seriously getting reminders of pre patch gameplay

That's just confirmation bias. Server performance was ass, for sure, because its full TOTY weekend, but other than that, gameplay in terms of mechanics, is the same as the day the patch dropped. Also a lot of people adjusted and learned to defend while others didnt
dude they hundred percent changed it. I lag every game even on twenty ping games are low scoring its impossible to score even green timed shots now unlike a week ago and defenders move a lot faster then before. ai wasnt changed either the only thing I feel that changed is passing and that got worse.
100% there’s been a patch.
When they launched the good patch update, AI runs were excellent, my TOTY Salah was rapid and making the best runs ever off the ball.
Now, everyone is slow again. AI runs are awful again. 96 rated salah being caught up by far slower players.
Oh, and AI defending is more powerful.
People saying there hasn’t been a soft patch, clearly haven’t played the game that much pre and post patch. It feels awful again
I dun’t know I played nearly 1000 before patch and about 100 post patch and have not felt a difference since the patch, just heavier gameplay during peek times. I have also Mo Salah but dun’t experience the same issue you do (he is striker).

Many were pre patch. And that pre patch game play is pretty much back to how it was.
People haven’t learnt how to defend in a week. Whilst people don’t have such high lines anymore, the AI defending is back and my 97 pace SBC Bale easily gets caught up by everyone.
When they put out the good patch, whenever I broke away with a fast player, I was gone. I could run down the wing easily and look for a pass across the box.
Now, I find myself having to stop running whilst I’m nowhere near the box, and look for another pass, exactly like I did pre patch.
I 100% can feel such a downgrade vs the other day when that good patch went live. It’s a shame
@@Gregl337I dun’t know because for me I still breakaway and score, I am scoreing 3-4 goals a game and not conceded many in them and it feels quite responseive unless played during the hour of content dropping.
I think what I notice more is people playing very low depth block and fill the box to try and help them deffend which makes it seem like AI defending is back (it is kinda still here).
For me the gameplay is not too different to first day post patch but with the differnec of everyone adapting to it.
This game is different every matches so sometimes it’s heavy for no reason and that makes it feel bad like pre-patch.

Its rhe servers because more people playing post patch. It is still tennis though, almost every shot goes in. People has also adaped playing lower lines trying to fill the box. As expected.

Crap servers, people adjust to the new patch and also the insane amount of defenders we are getting. Of course it's not the same. However the heavy gameplay is all due to the fried servers of EA...

i played rivals and champs and could feel a way different gameplay than last week, the rebounds and bounces are occurring more often, the AI defenders are OP again and i feel like my passes are slow, i manually defend to try to intercept passes but nothing works now, its either it bounces off my player to the opponent or it just goes straight through, there’s definitely a change to the gameplay, there’s little to no chance of having a game where you would have a clean sheet, you will concede, you just have to score tons of goals to win there’s no point to try and defend, insane stuffs
Been having the same problem with defending through balls just go straight through no matter what I do it’s so dissapointing
i swear man how can people say there was a patch when there's been no update for us to download? do you think they can conjure up a patch out of thin air onto your device? even if all they do is adjust a few sliders you still need to download at least something for those sliders to be updated on your machine. THERE WAS NOTHING, so nothing was changed.

My lahm should not be catching up to toty vini. Post patch that was not happening. Fast players were ripping through me and now they aren't. I play with slow players because I like how difficult they are to defend to to their slow clunky movement and now no one outpaces me

People denying a secret patch are funny. It's 100% a secret patch. We've had TOTY every year in the past and no one complained about a secret patch then. And the player traffic for FC 25 is smaller. So the whole "it's the servers" line is bs.
Yeah. I’m not sure how some people can’t notice or others are surprised. They constantly make changes that blatantly alter the way you have to play.
It’s almost like part of the game is identifying what the current “meta” is and adapting to accommodate.

the amount of kickoffs and 45th minute goals from the most random rebounds is actually disgusting
I think it’s a secret patch, although the server been bad last couple days the gameplay has been way more bouncy. Also defenders are good again

Pretty much all of my opponents are trying to read passes with their defenders and make pre-emptive runs to cover the other player, when before that, they'd just constantly you pressure you while pressing R1. People did adapt to the patch, people did adapt to the meta. Remember when this game came out people glazed it and called it fun as well, then a week later people found out what's meta and ran with it.
I won't say EA have done nothing because i can feel that Incisive+ has been downgraded a lot, but other than that, my playstyle of quick passes with tiki taka through the midfield and defense still works like a dream.
It may not feel like the first day of the patch, but it's nowhere near pre-patch either because before that, all that worked were Finesses lmao
the thing I've been noticing the most is some really weird animations. Keepers not reacting to a shot, weird first touches, weird tackling animations when you do it manually idk
I don't know if it is just the servers that are sucking right now, but the game does feel slower than the first week of the patch. It's still better than what we've been playing the last couple of months, because dribbling and passing is still really good, that has not changed with this "soft patch".
I just had my 2 best Champs finishes with 11 and 12 wins since the patch, but it definitely feels different from the first week to the second

I feel it too I noticed defenders catching up a bit faster and also alot of shots got blocked like last second because their defenders always managed to get in the way in time with my players taking their time when shooting and just in general the whole gameplay feels a bit slower again a slight buff in ai defending too

When the first patch game, I was finally dominating games like early fifa. Got myself a 13-2 for the first time this fifa..
But last weekend league my games was so heavy, my players couldn't run anymore, they have done something. When you can feel a difference, you know somethings up
Oh, if you guys want to know how to prevent the constant counter attacks that 4213 gives play a formation that has a DM I've been using 41212 wide and that does sound suicide but trust me you have so many attacking options that the 2 dms in 4213 can follow and when you lose the ball your cdm man marks the CAM in 4213 and if you put your fullbacks on, on Fullback they will stick to the wingers too 4141 is also a great option
People are playing low depth defender height now because high line get you caught every time so it seams like ai automatic defending is back because they are all crowded around and theres less spaces behind them like day one. (my experiences).
Exactly,had to switch from high depth to low depth after the patch cos the defenders just couldnt catch up anymore and got consistently outpaced on through balls. Wouldnt be suprised if the long shot meta or headers meta comes back because of this lol

4-3-3 holding seem to great. CDM in the middle constantly on the CAM of the 4-2-1-3. Both backs on defend and trigger them manually to go forward. CM’s on B2B and Playmaker. I’m in DIV2 and enjoying it.

Nick try the 442 with dms and play them dlp build up they play like cm but in defence they come back so you build up a attack with 6 and defend with 6 players
Maybe this was coincidence that we felt "bad gameplay" first time and thats how inconsistent gameplay will feel after the patch. It was pretty tough ngl, at this point we just should stop believing inconsistent gameplay will ever get fixed.
After seeing this game and play the game before the patch and after i decide to play early in the morning 7h30 UK time, i have to say that they do a soft or shadow patch , the things are the improved the AI defense and the speed of defenders are almost equal before the patch we keep score more goals then before the patch but not the same like the day they launched the patch

tbh i feel like something is different with the game. i played a couple of rival games today and couldn’t win a single one. i felt so confident after going 13-2 for WL and now not even being able to win a single game is so frustrating 😭

Okay then why didn't we need to download anything? You think they can conjure up patches out of thin air and adjust the gameplay onto your device with their minds? EVERY patch requires an update that needs to be downloaded. Ingame parameters have been changed and you need to download these for them to be active on your game.

You guys say shadow patch, I say EAs servers are fucking dog water!! Ps5 servers were down for like 10 hours Sunday remember that!!!! It’s not the patch it’s the servers!!! They can’t handle the demand and ea probably regained a lot of the game base again so the gameplay feels sluggish again.
Servers do nothing to change defensive AI behaviour, pass accuracy, attacking AI and player off the ball movement and defenders now catching attacking players. I don’t want to come across as I am bitching and moaning I’ve been an elite player each year since I started in fifa 22. I am not absolutely terrible and play well enough to notice this right away
@Chanelcoco749 I'm not disagreeing with anything you have said, but that's exactly how my gameplay is once I start having ping issues. Ping definitely affects AI response but I'm not sure about servers.

I’m glad a lot of people are feeling it… there was definitely something done I am currently in elite and my o my never have I seen so many bounce backs to the opposing team giving them a free goal it was basically every game. Opposing defenders felt absolutely automatic compared to before when not even usered. I felt a difference contemplated to retire from the game… I hope it’s just the servers but the gameplay was the worst today for me and bearable but still off yesterday as well. Glad I ain’t the only one it was not fun to get the points done for rivals im not touching the game until servers/patch is better
Why? Why would they soft patch something? The idea that they’ve secretly reverted to the old way after they’d gotten crushed in the stock market and the complaints this game has had the last 6 months is nuts. There’s no reason for EA to do anything like that, and I constantly clown them on Twitter almost daily lol.
They’d soft patch it because this game is noob friendly. When the patch came out it I won 11 straight games in champs and smash people who I’d normally have a 50/50 chance against. There’s always going to be more bad players than good players in every game so it’s a smart investment to make the gameplay noob friendly so they have as many bad players staying playing the game as possible for maximum money
The same reason kick off goal scripting and 45th and 90th minute scripting exist. Otherwise the people who can’t do proper build up play would never score a goal and quit the game
@@seanmcleod4725 I’d agree with you if that were completely the story of it, but more players have come back to the game in months so there’d be no reason whatsoever to push them away with a hidden patch and get people pissed again. Since the patch and the promo hype most of Nick’s views have eclipsed his videos since November. What wouldn’t be surprising is if they decided not to reset the servers this week. With everyone trying to acquire cards with lower odds then already insanely hard to get smaller promo pulls, letting the old servers that they normally reset weekly run further could cause serious delay issues and cause more people to be pissed with the players they came back from October to. This means that without patching the game secretly they’ve allowed slower gameplay and more demand for better cards. I’d expect it to be fixed by next weekend league magically, sorry for the yap sesh I just didn’t know how to concisely make that.
@ it’s weird, there’s a lot of theories. All of my mates play fifa and 90% of them quit this year but have come back because of toty. Every single one except me has packed a toty as well and I’m assuming it’s based on not having played in a while. Toty is when ea would make the most money so you’re definitely right in saying it wouldn’t make sense for them to soft patch the gameplay, however with the free zidane, and toty as well as good game play that would maximise expenditure for those people coming back, but then to keep the bad players playing they would release a soft patch so they would maximise the expenditure from them as well. Because when people lose or don’t get results a lot of people just buy packs. The bad gameplay is the reason so many people quit so if they’re coming back for toty it doesn’t make sense to spend money on packs if the gameplay is still shit. That was even more of a yap but yea. Good gameplay to get returning players to buy store packs, then soft patched game play so the noobs don’t leave and more money from them
@@seanmcleod4725 A soft patch would still require you to download the new files, even if it's just a 1mb file, you still need to download something and there wasn't. The last patch we got was the big one with like 3gb. In order to undo that patch you'd have to download something that is a similar size.

they definitely did something, they saw everyone was having high scoring games in every game, so they surely have put a soft patch, its definitely changed. im glad i see other people who also acknowledge that the game changed again, makes me think im not going crazy
It’s either the servers or they changed something cuz this weekend was terrible. It feels like it’s almost right back to the mechanical way of scoring again with overpowered AI and defense. Like I can’t manually defend anymore, holding R1 is overpowered again, shooting is horrendous and you have to do the same passing plays to get goals.
EA really juiced it for one week during TOTY just to get ppl back. What a rat company

yep, everyone who was happy with the patch, felt that something was fishy after a couple of days when the kids started whining about how they cannot defend. My attackers are now slow again against any DC, even though I have 2-3 meters ahead and my ST has got 98 Pace.
also, the passing was off again and the AI defense was spot on.
Personally I feel for everyone but something maybe did change. Defenders do be catching up to quick compared to the first day the first day of the big update. They should nerf chem styles or find a way to make them more balance. Throwing a shadow/hunter shouldn’t give a huge advantage. That’s also something else to blame. The attacking AI for me has always been booty. I run a 4-4-1-1, while in Div 2. This is the first fifa where I can’t reach elite division. Everyone playing the 4-2-1-3. The formation needs a nerf. I pretty much have to hold the ball and wait for a slight opening or mistake by the player to even create a chance. While they just sit there and block passing lines, meanwhile the AI is parking the bus with 6 players blocking the middle of the field.
Don’t feel a soft patch. I think you guys are going insane from playing this game so much for the past few months.

Yeah let's first see when the servers are back to somewhat being normal. The servers have been cooked for this entire TOTY promo now. It's still insanity how a multi billion company like EA are still having the worst servers. It feels insanely heavy and delayed. Personally I also don't believe it's a soft patch because why should they when they got so much positive feedback. They need to invest more into proper servers...

Every game I played, the opponent did not touch their CBs and were AI defending like before. The finishing is still there but the AI defense is back and it’s so lame.
Ong had one guy who did everything in his power to not use his defenders. Used his cdms all game even if he had to track back from the corner flag and his defenders marked perfectly ofcourse
Playing WL on Monday night and it might be the heaviest shit I've ever seen
I was 12-0 and in my 13th game I didn't get the ball from the 10th to the 33rd minute because of the rebounds. I tackled/intercepted the ball a total of 12 times in that period and didn't get it once, he of course scored on the end of it with a red timed shot which perfectly chipped my TOTY GK
I won the game in the end but holy shit these conditions are fucking horrid

When the patch came out i went to elite in like 2 hours and got 11 wins for the first time on fc 25 and felt like i could have done more.
Now i play and everything feels the same as it was pre patch. I can’t win on elite division and i made 9 wins on weekend league. Theres surely something behind

Nah, there was a patch for sure. I went from struggling to getting a win post patch to going back to winning constantly. The original patch screwed me and i couldnt get out of div 5. (Usually im a div 1 player but havent played since october) my games consistently have over 10 goals in them because i cant defend for shit but i can attack like nothing. They soft patched this game to where im getting bailed out in defence once again. I just play super aggressive and constantly attack the ball. I have no patience to actually defend but now i dont need to again. Even when that new patch came out i was really enjoying the gameplay because it was just constant back and forth with scoring more than before. My phillip lahm is catching up to toty vini now. Should not be happening.

Last weekend I got 8 wins in weekend league. Today I am going 3 wins with 6 losses currently, the last loss I was 5-3 up in the 85th minute. I lost the game 5-6. Something is very different from last week. Think I’m about to have my 100th break from fifa man I miss how this game used to be…

I think servers just were awfull the last days. Attackers felt slow,sometimes even Running in quicksand again as pre patch,other than that the gameplay still feels great compared to pre patch. Went from div6 to div3 cos my opponents actually have to manually defend now. Feels like I have control of the game instead of playing a pingpong simulator lol

I play 10-15 ping PC. I feel like attackers are a little bit more clunky/slower. My AI defense feels more responsive/better. I hope it’s just the servers cuz the patch made the game so much fun. Scoring feels about the same but long finesse shots feel worse. Ik they nerfed them but they feel worse than the original nerf.

Why would they change something without telling us? I have the genuine doubt, like what would EA have to win in screwing the game just because? For me gameplay feels the same since the toty patch that they announced in a very detailed post with videos and explanations of what was changing and I like it. And i've been getting consistent wins on Div 1 and rank 3 on FC. Im far from a pro and I'm enjoying the game a lot. Honestly I dont know what you guys want from the game

there has been a soft patch konate tired in 90th min and my subbed on toty rodrygo 99 pace was on a breakaway and konate caught up never happened before soft patch
The counter to 4213 is using 4213 with RB AND LB on Defend

Yes the game is heavy also yes it has deffo been patched.
Today is not normal gameplay, no way servers alone do not account for that level of slow movement. My players feel like they have 50kgs on their back again.
All weekend game was amazing and I genuinely enjoyed dribbling and running past people.
Now dribbling is impossible, passing only.
Everytime they touch couple things to fix they ruining everything else behind and we are getting worse and worse game experience. Yesterday i'm attacking with Salah toty and opponent's Klosterman did a slide tackle to Salah and he missed, gets up and keep up with Salah like that's easy and realistic.. Momentum don't exist in this game anymore..😂
4-2-1-3 isn't better than 4-3-2-1 in the past 2 titles. That formation was literally so good for me. Much better than the current 4-2-1-3. I really don't like the formation at all. For me it's way too defensive. I like the 4-4-1-1 way more

All these people saying soft patch need to grow up tbh just using it as an excuse cos there getting beat now. All it is is people have adapted to the new patch lowered depth and are learning to manually defend. There hasnt been no soft patch just shit gameplay and servers. The ones that think its a soft patch are obviously little kids that are just yes men and follow what someone's said without any proof
There is no soft patch at all, the game is way better than it was pre patch. Speed boosts are still insane and defensive ai is still nothing like it was pre patch. Can only put it down to bad gameplay and people getting used to the new patch
