    44:32 John: “I sit around and delight myself a lot” - It’s possible to do this every day for hours, on guitar, always discovering new angles on known stuff, or totally new stuff. Part of my brain is critical of me doing this, calling it wasting time, but it’s an endless fascination!

      @joeblakeukeman ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thing that came across to me, Tim, when I first discovered your playing, and ever since, was, and is the joy which is manifest within it. So, not surprised when you gave voice to that! (1:13:28) I’m sure I’m not alone in expressing my gratitude for that joy so gladly given. ❤

    Most guitar players on YT know about .00005% of what you guys know about this instrument. Including me. Although, I'm not going to stop trying. Its not an easy ... (this guitar thing) that is. But, the love for it is why we keep trying. Thanks so much for this conversation. Very inspiring. Back to "filling my Pockets". T 😎

    This is such a great tribute to Lenny Breau. It’s so fascinating that Lenny experienced connections between the colours of the expressionists and jazz. Much of the conversation is above my theoretical understanding of the guitar but I appreciate it nonetheless.

I looked through tons of music books and bought lots of records and materials during the 60s on. I appreciate watching this amazing event sharing the thought process and examples you made possible.

    Tim, thank you for sharing this. You guys are further along the journey than me, and it's such a sweet thing to hear and to learn from you two. Your playing gives me that delightful smooth feething of ooooh what was that? Like a hot shower to the neck. I'm so inspired by Ted too; i see you as furthering his legacy in some ways by encouraging people to see the power of the guitar as an instrument with many simultaneous moving voices, and to not be afraid of music theory, but also to realize all that stuff needs to fade into the background while we say what we really want to say on the instrument

As a big Tommy Emmanuel fan I'm curious, if there is any musical connection between Tiim and Tommy, or maybe just some short stories etc, or if it is too distant.
