JULIEN!! : I'm in pharmacy school an it's really important for you to hold your advair like a sandwich when you take it! It helps you get all the medicine that's in there for each dose! You may not be getting enough! (IDK but gravity works ya know?)
You also need to wash your mouth out every time you take it!
When you take it you should sit up straight, breath out as much as you can, and then breathe the dose in FAST AND DEEP! (you did that) and hold it. You shouldn't be tasting anything, that may mean that it's not going all the way down in your lungs! Put your teeth around the mouthpiece so the medicine doesn't get caught on your teeth when you breath in!!!

Most people who often use inhalers know how to do it.
Not trying to be rude it's just I have medical issues and I hate it when people that aren't my doctor randomly tell me how to do stuff I already know how to do.
pharmie101 I've been using inhalers for 20 years and I didnt know this. My doc literally handed it to me and walked out of the room when I got it. Thank you! Very helpful!
