Hey everyone - thank you all for the love and support! My next reaction will be posted on Tuesday, and it will be to the “On” music video! Right now I’m thinking that I’ll likely watch “this is BTS” by xceleste, but NOT as a reaction - it’s 15 minutes long and I just don’t think I’ll have the time in my week to edit out a reaction that long 😂 but I want to know them better, so I will watch it!! Sorry to disappoint those of you that wanted to see my reaction to it, but unfortunately, I only have time to do so much 😕

Hi Cedric! ARMY love the documentary type vids on BTS and honestly will sit through an hour long reaction video lol. We don’t mind if you pause the vid to make comments throughout the reaction either, because otherwise it would be boring if we just watched you staring at the screen the whole time and only talked at the end. It’s Your channel of course so do what you feel comfortable just wanted to give some insight/tips for the type of reactions viewers generally enjoy the most:) 💜

Oh great choice! "On" is amazing both as a song, but its choreography & video concept was 🔥👀🔥 so am looking forward to your reaction. "Black Swan" is another recommendation I am submitting for a possible reaction in the future. 😁 Funny yet cool how BTS is a group where one song leads to another and pretty soon you have fallen down the rabbit hole to the BTS universe 😜😁 but I have never regretted my own fall and am so thankful BTS is now a permenant part of my life & am proud to be Army. 💜

I just want to jump on, hold you down and have a 9 hour BTS conversation!!! How often do we get a reactor that's actually understands what they are watching? I will say, It's so nice to have someone who understands acting, film, editing and now you tell us you were a dancer too! Gloriously Faints in your direction. You're not someone just looking for views (which I understand you want views) But you actually understand subject matter!! If you want a real a great journey where you will come out with a life experience buckle your seat belt because BTS is a great ride. TIP FOR THE DAY: Never try to learn BTS members by their hair colors or you will never learn their names. Start with learning RM, he is the leader of BTS. He is the one, at 16 years old Bang PD put all of his eggs in a basket because he believed in RM's talent. BTS was formed because of RM's talent. You should watch, Who is BTS? that video will give you an idea who is who? I can't wait for you to watch Blood, Sweat & Tears!!! It's the deep end of the pool but so much to unpack. So much to see & talk about. I will go to the corner now and sit on my hands!!!

“I grew a flower that can’t be bloomed in a dream that can’t come true”-poetry, so beautiful yet sad sigh. The sculpture of the hands represent “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. To sum it up “Fake Love” is not necessarily about another person and their fake love, it’s also about how we feel about ourselves. (Notice they look at themselves in the mirror often like talking to themselves). Basically they’re saying if you’re not true to yourself or love yourself first, then love of any kind or for anyone will always be fake. Fake Love was on the 2nd album “Love Yourself: Tear” of the Love Yourself Trilogy and follows the trilogy’s theme of self-love “Love Yourself” where in the last album “Love Yourself:Answer” you realize YOU Are the one you should love and accept the most before you can truly love anyone else. JHope/snickers, Jimin/water, Suga/fire, Jin/flower, V/phones etc is part of fictional storyline that runs throughout some of BTS’ MVs so you kind of have to start from the beginning to piece some of the meaning and connections in the MV’s together, and warning it will be confusing for newbies lol! It was flower petals flying away from Jungkook’s hand it was the flower in the glass from the intro with Jin when the room exploded. The flower is the “smereldo flower” which is an important part of the BTS universe storyline. You’ll find most BTS lyrics and visuals have very deep meanings and connections to humanity and the world we live in.

What a great explanation. A quite often experience the epiphanies and "ooooh"s like when I read Harry Potter as a child. Like that feeling when you enter a world with so much happening, and with every book another layer is added and all of a sudden you get the "oooooh, now that makes sense in a whole different way". That's what I get from BTS. This video has soooooo many hidden references, metaphors, meanings ... just mind blowing how much they were able to put into one music video - and keep doing it with almost all their mv.'s.
By the way, liked your reaction, Cedric. I'm excited to see your next reaction.

Im an army for quite some time now and I love analysing the lyrics but that specific line “ i grew a flower that cant be bloomed in a dream that cant come true” is for some reason so hard for me to decipher.. i have a lot of theories on what that line actually means but I wanna ask you what does it mean in your opinion i would love to hear more insights!

    • @minja6528
      @minja6528 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

@@leona3237 I think the metaphor of the “flower” and “dream” could have different meanings. To me a dream is actually a fantasy and Not Real therefore a real flower cannot actually bloom inside a dream. And the flower in MV represents the smeraldo flower which is fictional in BTS’ storyline therefore Not Real. The flower could also represent “love” and for me “Fake Love” is related to vocal line song “The Truth Untold” and the story of a man that wants to give the rare smeraldo flower (‘love’) to a woman but can’t because he did not have self-love and was hiding his true self so his dream of being loved could not be fulfilled or come true.

  • @jessiejameson9991
    @jessiejameson9991 3 ปีที่แล้ว +80

I really like how you analyzed this MV! RM (one of the members) said this is what "Fake love" means: "if you are not true to yourself, your love won't last forever. The love could be person to person, it could be between me and myself". Also this song is a part of the fictional storyline that runs through their music videos.
If you want to see how this MV was filmed you can watch "BTS Fake Love MV Shooting".
I think as a dancer you will be interested in "BTS Fake love dance practice", it will show better their choreography.

  • @Lisa__13

I don't know if you noticed, but at the back of the room with the phones it says 'SAVE ME'. If you turn that upside down, it reads 'I'M FINE'. Those are two songs of BTS that are connected. Save Me talks about being hurt and afraid and needing the support and help from someone else because you can't do it on your own (Lyrics: give me your hand, save me save me, I need your love before I fall). In I'm fine you've learned to rely on yourself instead of someone else, you'll be okay no matter what. You've accepted the pain and sadness and you're not lonely and afraid anymore (Lyrics: I'm feeling just fine, fine, fine, I'll let go of your hand now).
I also think that Fake Love is about BTS themselves, they want and have to please the fans, the general public, the company ... so they have to pretend to be happy and okay all the time, even when they're not. They create this 'pretty lie' for us. They can't always be themselves and only want to show us their happy and healthy side. They have to wear a mask. (RM also stated this in an interview once, that the most two-faced person in the world was him) They would do everything for us and don't want us to worry so they lose themselves and become our doll. So in the end, the fans love them, but not the true versions of themselves, only the version the fans and public get to see, so it's fake love.

Hey thanks for reacting to BTS !
I thought some information might help you.
BTS Stand for Bangtan sonyeondan, which roughly translates to 'Bulletproof boyscouts'.
BTS has 7 members, 3 of them rappers (RM, Suga, J-Hope) and 4 vocalists (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook).
BTS is the most popular and appreciated k-pop group in the world with their fans called ARMY (estimated as more than 20 million of them).
BTS can rap, dance, sings and much more… They have really deep and thoughtful lyrics which they usually write themselves, they produce too and 4 of them have their own music studio. Each member has a unique story and personality and you can easily identify to them.
They debuted in 2013, but they have been 10 years together and now they’re way more than friends, they consider themselves more like a family.
All of their songs are meaningful, there is also a whole storyline that runs throughout their albums and songs which is very important to understand their lyrics and videos. Some albums are also inspired from other things like books or artists.
They really have an important place in ARMY’s hearts because they have a deep general message too which is: LOVE YOURSELF (mentioned several times in their LY albums [Her, Tear and Answer]). They spoke about that at the UN and launched the Love Myself campaign with UNICEF.
But despite their success they keep them humble and natural (as Halsey said after collaborated with them).
If you want to learn more about them, I can recommend you those videos as guides:
    The seven members of BTS
    th-cam.com/video/xu0IfBvZMRs/w-d-xo.html
    Crash course 2020
    th-cam.com/video/M40jsKiIcm8/w-d-xo.html
This one focuses more on their musical career, very interesting if you want to have a quick overview of their 'rise to fame' so to speak.
BTS// From Nobodies to Legends (2019)
    th-cam.com/video/SrI4AvkABm4/w-d-xo.html
This shows how much BTS struggled at their debut but they worked hard and continued even when the times and critics were really hard.
If you’re into visual videos you should react to the ‘behind the scenes’ (eng sub on “Bangtan sub channel”) and I recommend you those few videos:
    ON
    Black Swan
    Not today
    Spring day
    DNA
And if you want to check out more hip hop/rap, the rap line (aka the three rappers) actually have a lot of songs with only them together and also released own solo mixtapes, so I would recommend:
    Ddaeng
    Cypher 1 to 4
    Outro: Tear
    Ugh!
They also have Japanese songs/versions like :
    Run
    I need u
    Stay gold
    Blood Sweat & Tears
    Rap line solos :
Daechwita, Last, ‘Agust D’ - by Suga aka Agust D
Do you, Joke - by RM
    Daydream - by J-Hope
    Vocalist line solos :
    Epiphany, Moon - by Jin
    Singularity, Stigma - by V
Lie, Serendipity, Filter - by Jimin
Euphoria, My time, Still with you - by Jungkook
Vocalist line song : (all vocalists without rappers)
    House of cards
    Dimple (live)
    The truth untold (live)
    Zero o’clock
This got so much longer than I expected 😅
I hope you don't mind. If you have any questions, I'll happily answer them.
See ya, and as ARMY says:
    You nice, keep going 💜🤗😂

All Kpop MVs are fantastically done, but BTS/Big Hit are just a cut above. They take their MVs very seriously. There are behind the scenes videos of a lot of their MVs. And since you're a dancer... they also have dance practice videos, which we love, because you can see the entire choreo without the edits that are in the MVs.
I think you would love the ON - Kinetic Manifesto Film (which is a performance MV), and the ON Official MV (which is like a Hollywood movie). Same song in both, but totally different takes.

In the middle cut scene that was flower petals that came from the sand and floated in the air. Because if you remember in that lantern-looking case it was a flower that Jin was trying to protect when the room exploded. Also if you watch them during the dance, they are doing a lot of the monkey no see, hear and speak movements. Yes, those were phones blinking. In that same room V walks to the back arch and on the wall you see the words "Save Me" That is a reference to the story they are telling plus one of their songs. Now if you flip it upside down the words will say "I'm Fine" now. That talks about the concept of the album and also it is the sister song of "Save Me" With BTS things are not done randomly, there is usually a reason for it and sometimes we won't discover that reason until the next album or MV. they have a behind the scenes video for all of their mvs, you can check them out if you want! you can find them in their channel BangtanTV (new ones have subs, old ones you can find them with subs on BANGTANSUBS channel).
i guess the "what music do you like" question was because bts do multiple genres, they don't stick to just one type of genre, so army could do recommendations to you based on what you usually listen to :)

Nice take on the vid. There is a behind the scenes on the filming I'll link in the replay. Ow and the music video is part of an ongoing fictional storyline for almost 6yrs where they place hints and connections on some of the music vids where u have to catch and figure out. And the song is a title track of the second album in the love yourself trilogy. The first one( album LY:Her) is about love like fate ( destined to be). second one( this album LY: Tear) is about losing ur self to be accepted by someone u claim to Love. The third one (LY: answer) is about u need to love yourself first to love answer. Check out there song I need u 19+ ver to see their acting. It's part of the story line so it's confusing bt u can see their acting more.

A massive part of BTS's message can be understood in the visuals, and from my observations, people who work and are trained in the visual medium can get almost the whole message from that alone. One of the best thing about their music videos is everything has meaning. There is an ongoing arching fictional storyline that is revealed in bits and pieces, mv's, short films, short stories included in the albums, webtoons. Some fans will spend hours studying it all and trying to put it all together. Other MV's are based on books. There are whole reading lists out there of books which inspired BTS songs and MVs. Basically to understand BTS songs and MV's you need to study psychology, literature, greek mythology, art, history, religion. It's very appealing to intellectuals. Yet their music can still be enjoyed just on the surface auditory and visual level. It's great.

You have an amazing journey ahead of you in discovering just why BTS is loved so much. I almost envy what your about to experience, if you continue to learn more about the group that is.
Beware, this group has put out a lot of content since they debuted seven years ago. Their fans called ARMY, show up for them.... doesn't matter if we've seen the content a dozen times already.... we're willing to watch it again.... especially if we can help someone new discover the group.

It will be a little long comment but I hope you can read it.
First of all, loved your reaction. I can see you are really enjoying while watching and Im really happy to see that after those youtubers who react kpop just because its popular and acting like loving it even we clearly see they are not enjoying with the mv.
Secondly here is some info about BTS
You can ( and should) react to Who is BTS, Seven members of Bangtan video. Its a fanmade guide to know them better. Its quite long but Im sure it will help you a lot with the names and group in general. But what I want to add about BTS is their aim on mvs. They always give some really important messages on their so gs and mvs. Like " you are important even you do t have a great academic results, you should love YOURSELF before someone else, you should think about what you want to do not what other people want you do etc." also the way they express those messages in mvs are just soo cool.
Also one of the special thing about BTS, all kpop groups dance very well but BTS is just soo perfect about it.
    About kpop in general;
Kpop groups sing, rap and dance at the same time but also they act. Usually there is some stories in kpop mvs and even you can see the story and acting in live performances. So basically watching a kpop mv usually like watcing a moe and watching a performance is like watching a musical.
But, kpop idols sometimes act for real. For example V from BTS acted in a historical drama.
Also abouy kpop mvs and live performances, the staff members are just way too professionel. If you can react a performance you can see how great camera works are.
Here is some request for your future reactions, I do t know would you like to react them or even you will read my comment or not but I think you may like these mvs because they have really strong storylines.
Vixx - Fantasy mv and The Closer mv - this is one of my fav kpop group and they known as concept kings due to their unique, detailed mvs and mostly very dark stories they tell us in mvs. These two mv actually on a concept about GREEK GODS and you can be sure that you wont see anything like these two. So, I would be really happy if you can react them.
B.A.P - One Shot mv and Skydive mv these are basically short action movies. Specially second one is 10 min. long so we can consider it a short moe for real.
Monsta X - Love Killa mv - it just came out and have some real moe referances. This is a group I specially like the rappers.
