It's clear that this thing is too top heavy and liable to roll if traversing across a slope. The vehicle itself is meant to be a protected mobility vehicle, not an IFV. Slapping a big turret on a small, lightly armoured vehicle won't suddenly make it suitable as an infantry support vehicle.
Yea I think the smaller .50 cal remote turret would be more popular on the export market and if anyone wants an autocannon turret on it there are plenty of scout/security vehicle on the market with those. This car simply does not have enough armor to match the turret’s firepower so it would be easy to knock out even with .50 cals.
The video does state it can be modified and can be configured differently depending on buyer needs. However I do also agree with the top heavy part, also isnt ammo an issue? where are you going to store all this? How will there be space for soldiers own equipment and supplies? Also as we have seen in ukraine in harsh battlefield conditions APCS have to be used as medvacs...I have high doubts it can provide this role without emptying at least 2-3 soldiers from the vehicle.

I know a lot of people seem to think that these vehicles are only good for low intensity and scouting operations but I think that’s a very shortsighted viewpoint. When you look at how the west in the United States in particular has geared for combat and combat doctrines, it’s very clear that the idea is a very short and victorious war. Now against a opponent from 20 years ago that might’ve made sense and certainly against an opponent that is smaller it is possible, but in reality the equipment being used is so high-tech that anyone that can hold out for period of probably 3 to 4 months has a good chance of winning the war. That’s where these vehicles come in. They are small, fast and sturdy enough to be highly survivable and relatively hard to hit. on top of that with low detection, signatures, courtesy of the diesel electric combination would make them highly effective and fairly stealthy. Per unit of these vehicles with an anti-air variant to take out and detect drones, and you have a highly mobile force that can affectively knock out effectively anything short of major fortifications(including tanks and unmanned vehicles). Not to mention the capability is low enough to reduce casualties, but high enough to allow for a great deal, more flexibility than an unmanned vehicle would be able to have. And finally, while they do look top healthy, I think that is a poor evaluation of the vehicle. A large part of that is determined by weight distribution combined with vehicles dimensions. While I doubt it would be able to go up anything too steep, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that it can run very happily along a 15 to 30° slope. Which, under most circumstances would be the most extreme situation it would have to operate under. Most hills that look fairly steep are in reality only about four or 5°. Which an average riding lawnmower can handle something that steep.
I think the larger turrets made the vehicle quite top heavy, even in the advertisement the vehicle looked like it's about to tip over when making tight turn where the turret is facing.
Really interesting vehicle especially the 90mm version, however I've recently heard about that the Belgians had some issues with the Cockerill 90mm gun, because the the APFSDS rounds ruined the cannon barrel, I don't know if they have got rid of this problem. If there was a version that could fire 90mm shells 10km away with decent precision while on the move, with targeting link from drone, satellite, observer station or plane, would be one hell of a based counter-battery piece.
@@Truthbomb918 I can't really name any 90mm guns with this range, especially recent ones, because nobody is really developing 90mm guns for serious anymore (and that's first assumption - if there was a need to develop it for this task, it would be done), but I think 8,8cm Flak 36 could fire it at, like, 15km on ground targets. Yes, yes, you're right, Flak was 5 meters long, but that's not the point, this distance would be pretty reachable by some munitions and many guns designed mid-XX century, imagine what could be done today with CAD/AI-designed barrels, rocket-assisted munitions and GPS guidance (yes, costs as hell, but, again, that's not the point). Second assumption is that modern precision would be far better suitable for counter-battery fire (you can even think of counter-mortar and counter-trench fire) than it was for WWII guns, where it was required to spit out ammo on areas in order to hit anything. Now, third assumption is that 10km is a ceiling for this task, because highly mobile system of this kind can get way closer, say, 5km, for mortar suppression with targeting link from drone and be relatively safe from helicopters, front observers, return counter-battery fire than any conventional towed artillery, which survives because of distances of 20-25km and highly-jerked teams which manage to pack it in 40 seconds.
Once your thermal sites pick up enemy armor, you are going to want to throw smoke and run. The last thing you want to do is start trading blows with a T-72 or entrenched infantry with ATGMs. So, what is the purpose of the 90 mm cannon? You are out ranged, out gunned and out armored.

If I remember correctly, Malaysia was an sounth pasific country consisting of thousands of small islands. For this reason, I don't think that Malaysia needs such a vehicle, it can do this job more successfully with reconnaissance drones instead of scout car. But isn't much needed for countries with flat, rainforest-free, comfortable terrain for logistics like Western Europe or South Pacific island countries without having big chunk of mainland.
Why not have windows to your turret if you have them on the hull? Gunner & commander visibility in scouting mission or low intensity war is life saving. If your armor can only stop 7.56mm then it should have windows.
@TheMrPeteChannel I was thinking of counter-battery fire possibility, which is usually medium distance and hit and run tactics. New KF51tank claims to have this possibility with data link from several sources, for example.

OTOKAR is the first company to produce the pigeon chest chassis design in the world. Later, other countries copied this invention from Turkish industry.
Would rather have an armored scout car with guided AT missiles, mortars, or high caliber fully automatic, armor piercing or explosive round capable gun mounted on it, rather than an artillery piece. Unless its a surplus artillery gun, then it could be a good mobile artillery
This thing is not actually top heavy. The hull is more armored than what is said in the video. It is resistant to .50 all around. And the powerpack it has is 300 hp. Ammo is also located in the hull. I think this is a modern take on vehicles like AML-90 and Wiesel.

12:47 what is the name of that vehicle?
Arquus Scarabee
Why not have windows to your turret if you have them on the hull? Gunner & commander visibility in scouting mission or low intensity war is life saving.
If your armor can only stop 7.56mm then it should have windows.
That is a big gun for a light armor vehicle but I guess the AMX RC 10 isn't much different in that manner.
They should market this to hunters in US.
'Dem dammed feral hogs gonna hate you
Uhmmmm that 90mm just might be a tad overkill. The 25 & 30mm autocannons are fine.
@TheMrPeteChannel I was thinking of counter-battery fire possibility, which is usually medium distance and hit and run tactics. New KF51tank claims to have this possibility with data link from several sources, for example.
12:08. That's a single use technical with the GRAD
By the way, Google translate says that 'Akrep' means 'Scorpion.'
There was once a company in the USA with a similar name called Autocar.
Its the same name, just translated.
Idk if it's the company you mean, could be a coincidence.
@@heroiccombatengineer6018 The two companies are unrelated.
there are hundreds of old m60 tanks in turkiye that still in use in turkish army..turkiye uses these old tanks in very usefull ways..turkiye already modernized these tanks and made them very deadly even eganist the modern tanks..turkish roketsan firm also made a unmanned tarret for m60 tanks..but its not integreted to m60 tanks yet..i think in near future these m60 tanks will be fully autonomous with a artifical intelligent..so that there will be no need to supply food or water or other needs for tanks crews..without humans tanks will be much effective on battlefields
Good on defense not so much offense.
I would like to hear more about these modernized M60 tanks.
@@Alsayid Just google "Roketsan M60" and you'll find images.
Ahahahahahah
Purpose of development of this tool. residential area struggle and exploration. Specially configured for sudden maneuvers. Everything was considered, after thousands of hours of field testing, it was put into mass production.
It's an excellent idea it's got a looks like a automatic 40 Beaufort millimeter cannon in the hole is probably full of fuel and ammunition so it won't be too heavy
When an opposing force see's this vehicle: "ahh crap."
OTOKAR is the first company to produce the pigeon chest chassis design in the world. Later, other countries copied this invention from Turkish industry.
Look at the South African Rooikat.or the Italian Centauro for 90mm or 105mm armoured cars that want to be tanks.
My 10 live premiere
A successor for the ERC 90 Sagaie
I believe the successor of that may be the Jaguar.
The Haitian military need some of this car
Çok güzel ben beğendim.ön ve yan camları küçültün.
Nice but is it ulez compliant?
The French tank doctrine make large use of scout cars even today in their tank formations, for scouting and security.
Lol
Why does it have an APFSDS round if it can only penetrate 100 mm of steel? Why not just use a HEAT round?
How does it compare to the US made JLTV?
It's basically an IFV jeep
Except it doesn't carry infantry
Eland 90 + Humvee = AKREP II ?
Bulky humvee? Really?
I just said "21st century Eland" to a friend of mine. Funny how the world keeps going around in circles
Looks good for armored car
i mean, heavy scouting is a good idea, if you have the shot and you can punish the enemy by taking a moment decision do it
Would rather have an armored scout car with guided AT missiles, mortars, or high caliber fully automatic, armor piercing or explosive round capable gun mounted on it, rather than an artillery piece.
It isn't 50 cal proof from the front tho correct?
@@sneakysnek8416 Windows are bulletproof but not .50 proof
the king's throne may still be akrep but it wont be long if the new himas wolf pack is launched to market capable of releasing both mortar, rocket, missile & drones of various range & warhead from the vertical tubes behind the vehicle.....
Perfect for the farmers hinting those darn rabbits in Australia.
So basically, an almost armored humvee with a turret of some sort and less seats xd
cool
Nimble mobility may be where it's at anymore. $4M USD MBTs are getting disabled and destroyed by
It could be the replacement for the tanks in the drones age.
It's neat and it has potential but, if you ask me, the turret's too damn big.
Has anyone played that custom halo reach map with the warthog that had a scorpion tank cannon on top of it? that's what this reminds me of
Malaysia should have this vehicle, it is really strong
I’m surprised the us doesn’t have something like this. Since we do a lot of fighting in Africa
I WOULD OPT FOR A 20 MM 30 MM AND 762 ZIP GUN
Ótimo veículo para reconhecimento e emboscada.
