As for all you opinionated people, I'm from the UK were cropping and docking is illegal, but if my dog was a working dog and their ears or tail was an impairment to them then they would be better off without them. You wouldn't be saying the same thing if your dogs ears got torn off while working because chances are they would be in more pain then.
This is a presa, often listed as a dog that can't be in a rental apartment, dog park, etc. Its body language screams "PLAY" and apparently the chickens understand.
The way Presas should be, gentle, loving family pets that always want to play and tail is always moving. Not dogs trained to attack and fear everything foreign that moves.

The chicken is a fierce breed. Without the proper training they can become unstable and often deadly. Please do not leave them alone with children under the age of 25. After this video was shot, the dog was mauled to death by the chicken.

They are certainly powerful enough to kill a 200 pound man. But you know, all the pit bulls I've known were sweethearts because they had good owners. I've grown to love and admire that breed. This presa...he doesn't want any part of the "business end" of those chickens. I'm sure he tried to mess with the chickens as a pup and got his face pecked to death. Conditioning has taught him well. Hell, I wouldn't get near a chicken...creepy, weird ass animals. It's a very powerful breed, powerful enough to kill, but everything I've read states that they just have to be socialized the right way. When they are, they're just like big pit bulls...who eat way too much for my budget I'm sure. Such a good looking dog though...damn handsome!
my 150 pound male presa is a big baby. he loves to cuddle my 4 year old son on the couch, and is more than happy to let my 7 year old daughter chase him round the garden. we socialised him non stop from an early age and have had no problems at all with him while outside. he's a bit aloof with strangers at first...bit of a "wait and see attitude" but soon comes around and gets to know them. great breed of dog, don't let people scare you away from them man
I'm with you. I've never ever ever ever been afraid of dogs (and I was actually attacked by two German shepherds when I was young.) Made me have an ultimate respect for the canine. But yes these guys are all very beautiful and have impressive size and features, especially for someone like me who prefers large breed dogs, but they have always "spooked" me as well, especially since that story when I was younger about Diane Whipple being attacked in the hallway of her apartment building.
Also - people have to realize that dogs are still dogs no matter if you have them for five months or five years or 12 years.…… If they've never shown any aggression or anxiety, it doesn't mean that they are human. They are animals and at any point can lash out and react negatively to anything. Whether it's a Pit Bull or a Pomeranian - the only thing is.... W/ the Presa Canario, it can certainly KILL if they go through this kind of sudden negative reaction to someone or something. Sometimes I don't know if it's a good idea to have a dog of this strength as a pet. 😁. I've always felt if in a sudden situation, you are not strong enough to handle your dogs, then you prob shouldn't own it. And I know I couldn't handle a Presa Canario if something bad happened and I had to hold it back. Even with a lead or harness. OK I'm done rambling LOL!

When my presa was young he attacked chicken horses etc.... A real presa is a hunting and Fight dog He doesn't have any tolerance to animals He's from Serbia, there are good dogs presa etc...they breed real presas
I don't know about the non-deserving part but I'm with you. I've actually met very very good canine owners that had dogs w/ cropped ears and docked tails; but I'm totally not with it. However it doesn't make them a bad owner they just have a different opinion on certain things I guess. Did you know that the Rottweiler, originally from Germany....currently it's illegal to dock their tails but in the US we still do it? It's so crazy - they are beautiful animals with a short tail or a long one.

Inaccessible Cardinal i had a presa trust me as long as u bring it up right it is fine, people were intimidated by the dog but he was harmless
