Congrats on the purchase. I just got mine also while the price was good. First time out, I pulled two silver coins from a new permission. This time of year, I wear the headphones to keep my ears warm. :)
Hey, Seek and Detect! Cool choice on the detector for today's video. I don't hunt the beach often, but when I do, I normally stick with Surf and Seawater with Tracking Ground Balance on. The Surf setting, from what I can tell, doesn't have a negative effect on dry sand. It is the same as Beach General, but is less chirpy when detecting in salty or black sand. I like to keep my sensitivity around 21-23, otherwise it gets a little chirpy... for me anyway lol. Calabash Digger Adventures has a few good videos on detecting the beach with the Manticore. Hope you enjoy your new detector!! It took me a while to get used to it, but since you're out more than I am, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time. You'll be finding some very small stuff with the Manticore by the way! I always find very thin pieces of copper or whatever and it can be frustrating lol.
I’ve noticed it’s very quiet on the wet stuff. The black sand on this hunt was pretty severe. Yes I’ll be watching lots of videos and talking to friends. Thank for taking the time to comment☺️
Looks like a great Detector if you can afford it. I can't so I'll just keep hunting withe my Xterra Pro. I find a lot with a lower priced detector. Great video on the Manticore.
You stay with your cheaper, I mean less expensive detector. I have four detectors and only two I would recommend. 1st is an old Garrett GTA X500. It's over 40 years old and still a beast when it comes to finding coins and gold jewelry. 2nd is the ATX Pulse induction. Good for deep targets. Thr other two are Equinox 800 and Whites 24k gold master. I hate numbers on screen. They're not as accurate as sound.😊
I have the 900 because like Daniel the Manticore took too long to arrive. I still have my 800 as well. Both find gold and silver but because the 900 vdi numbers are all over the place I like my 800 better.
I just ordered mine from Bart a few days ago. It hasn’t arrived yet, but I can confirm he was great to deal with and he made me a sweet deal. Can’t wait to get it! Hope you enjoy yours!
I had mine out the other day. New england beaches are starting to erode in some cases. But I am still finding lots of stratified light aluminum. That said. I had 4 targets, low tone, too deep to recover. And they were not beer cans. 4. I found a pull tab at 24 inches. Almost to deep to dig. Manticore is a engineering marvel. Welcome to the club.
@@SeekandDetect I am still learning. Theres an oldtimer who posted his beach settings. Beach General. 2 tones adjusted. Recovery speed 6. I drop that lower. Upper limits 11, lower limits 2. Threshold 4. I cant find threshold. GB 3. It was hitting deep.
Congrats on new addition to your detector collection. Im interested in how well the Ferrous / Non-Ferrous discriminations feature works. Most of the detecting Chanel’s I watch use either Deus 2 or the Eq 900, so I’m excited to watch more of your videos with the new detector. Great $500 off deals right now. Alright bro, Gold Luck to you. 😎👍🏼
Hey Eric I was watching the content and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine I will say that I like to run beach deep on dry sand and did find it will run at a higher sensitivity than nox 600 I did need to set the separateion settings, I think a little bit higher but I am not sure, but do know I made a adjustment to that setting and that's about it.
You can't depend on the Vdi numbers that much. It'll give you a really wide variance depending on coin condition and orientation. Also just because it isn't a perfect circle on the non ferrous line doesn't mean it's not a good target. Also whatever mode you use pick one audio profile and use it on all of them till you learn the machine .
@@SeekandDetect taken me six months of hunting at least 2-3 times a week to really become proficient with it. It's a great machine once you learn, although it can be discouraging during the process. Good luck
Congrats on your new Manticore! I'm a user since APR 2023. A critic says I'm wasting mine by using mostly default settings. You'll customize everything and get more out of yours - looking fwd to seeing the results. Suggestions: 1) get plug for shaft bottom. It'll keep out sand & seawater, 2) convince MMM to get a Manticore too. 🤪
I’m not sure if I’ll plug the bottom. I actually like the idea of pulling the bung plug and rinsing how the whole shaft. I’m wonder how much sand is in my other detector shafts. I was amazed how much sand piled up in my scoop shaft last time I pulled it out.
@@SeekandDetect - The bottom plug completely blocks sand & water. Whatever sand that gets in is from when I lay down the unit outdoors. I always rinse everything. But agree w/you on the scoop shafts. They still hold sand & water.
I pretty much use factory settings. I keep recovery speed low and sensitivity around 16 to 18. I get no overloads this way and target ID's are pretty consistent. I also keep ground tracking on.
You are correct sir, most of the time when I find a gold ring, I don't know what it is before I dig it. There are many factors that determine the number.
I will stick with my Deus2. It's the real gold finder. It's so light and I got a pile of gold rings with it and yes, I was Nox 800 user, and I love that 6" coil, talk about finding rings, now the Deus2 is finds a lot more women's rings. Sold on the Deus2 nothing like it. I am a cherry picker only looking for gold rings, not picking any coins up unless a nickel. Good luck Swinging for gold.
I have the nox 900 AND the Manticore.. haven't got much use out of either.. we did take the Manticore to panama city couple months ago and only found change and a fake gold cross. I don't have enough time with it to say anything yet
How’s the arm cuff?? I bought an off brand aluminum one for my 800, it’s bulletproof..after the first one broke in just a couple months, that being said my 800 is pushing about 5 years now and still works great although I’ve never submerged it but she’s paid herself off a hundred times over.
The biggest loophole for my Manticore experience, was all The tone settings & tone profiles….. some sounded horrible ….some great …..you really need to try them all , to see what you like and don’t.
@ After you pick your 5 tone ……..There’s a Sub Menu (Tone Profiles) …. changing a profile ……will change your 5 tone sound ……profile will not change pitch / depth tone

As a fellow Manticore user, I strongly recommend getting the M9 coil.
That’s the plan!
It should come stock with the m9 imo. I like it way better for all-around use.
