I wish you were still on your other channel. I loved that channel. I'm older and no interest in a badass career. Been there and did that.

One of the reasons why I watched this video and subscribed is because I've always been told by employers that I "work to slow."

I graduated from UX design boot camp in October 2023 and have been job searching for an entry level position since then with over 700+ applications sent and only 2 interviews that didn't get past the recruiter screening. I have 17+ years of work experience but because it wasn't UX specific it's been so challenging finding a role in my career change due to "lack of experience" ....my background is in entrepreneurship, film production, and restaurant service so I am currently in the process of revamping my resume to showcase my experience has been in "real life" user experience ...these tips have been very helpful as its given me some ideas for ways I can reframe my experience to align with the roles I am seeking.

How has your search gone? I'm in the same boat but I have military experience an associate degree AND a bachelor's degree and still can't even get an interview

@@Jayne-y6d Based on a lot of groups I am in it seems like the market is rough rn for UX overall even for those with experience (including even those with masters degrees!). I thought my lack of degree could have been the issue but I have been working with mentors and know I have a killer portfolio. I've since tailored my resume to spin my experience in a way that showcases everything I can do is relevant and transferable for UX design as well. Still no luck with interviews. I try to attend local UX events to network but I am thinking I need to push the networking even more as it could be easier to land an interview when you know someone working for the company who can vouch for you. A lot of people I know have also just given up looking for UX roles but I really want it and refuse to quit, I trust in the timing and that hopefully the perfect position will reach me at the perfect time. Keep going and don't give up! Anything you can do to improve your resume, skillset, etc in the meantime will only help. Did you do a UX bootcamp as well?
