    About Mangalore Buns
    Mangalore Buns is a deep-fried bread originating from the Udupi-Mangalore region of Karnataka, India, and part of Mangalorean cuisine or Udupi cuisine.The buns are mild sweet, soft fluffy puris with all purpose flour and banana being the main ingredients. Usually served with a spicy coconut chutney and sambar, they are also eaten without any accompaniment. Variations of this dish also incorporate finger millet and Sorghum.

    "It's not one of those cold buns that you identify with." 😅 I've never identified with a bun, but there is a Disney short called Bao, and this lady makes a child out of a dumpling. She loves and cares for her dumpling son until he leaves home (and her) with his human lover, and she responds by going into a rage and eating him. I identify more with a house cat than a dumpling. Dumplings are mighty tasty though. 😋
    You may identify something as being cold or hot, or maybe you're more familiar with a cold or hot dumpling, but identifying *with* is to feel like you're also that thing and/or can relate to it. This recipe is delicious, and I also needed the laughter because sometimes I do feel like a fluffy dumpling.

    It's not Mangalore banana. It's grown all over Kerala -- called Nendran here. And considered a great breakfast food.
