I am truly amazed. I can see it becoming one of the most useful plugins I have. The price really blew me away. Thanks Mr. Sheps for creating this awesome plugin and Warren for sharing as you do so very well. Much appreciated.
Yep. Own it. Use it extensively. It's particularly useful for tracking with the SoundGrid system. Dial in some basic settings, fold back to the musicians for tracking, zero latency added, musicians have great mixes in their ears. Like Cameron says, particularly useful on drums, but I track with it on just about everything for basic management. Then use it to adjustments as I start the mix down process. Waves. SoundGrid. StudioRack. Scheps Omni Channel. Great combo.
Hi Lem Meador thanks ever so much for your fantastic insight!! I trust your opinion massively! You’re one of the best my friend! Great member of the Audio community!!
Hi Gerhard Binkele that’s good to know you already knew it! We didn’t! Haha I asked Cameron to show us how he used it on an actual mic after he raves about it! I personally prefer real reviews using the equipment over the paid for esoteric description videos! Have a marvellous time recording!
Hi Friends, I was working Cameron Webb and he was raving about Andrew Scheps new plug in the Omni Channel, so I got him to open up a mix and show us how he used it! It was my first time seeing it and I was very impressed! Plus I see it's still only $49, which is a great price considering everything it does! Check it out here:- bit.ly/2GgbkGd
Omni Channel and Parallel Particles are two of my favorite plugins right now. If you haven't tried Andrew's Parallel Particles yet, give it a shot. One thing I didn't see you guys cover (forgive me if you did) but you can actually insert any other Waves plug-in into the chain of that channel strip, and put in anywhere within the chain of the plug-in. I did an entire mix the other day using ONLY the Omni Channel, and it ended up great. If you're not comfortable with ALL the different aspects of it, the presets are fantastic, and will get you some great sounds straight away.
Hi Patrick Fouhy thanks for your wonderful comment! I really appreciate your attention to detail and additional insight! Yes, there is much more we could have covered! We definitely do as much detail as we could and should of! big part of what I do is showing people inside of my daily Production of music. I was there with Cameron working and he excitedly telling me about this plug in so I took the opportunity to film him talking about it. So glad you are part of the discussion!
Warren, one other thing he didn't mention but I think is pretty excellent is that they tried to keep the gain consistent. For example if you switch among the 3 compressor types the apparent volume remains pretty consistent which you may not get if you are switching between the waves 1176 and neve or dbx modelled compressors on their own.
Hi warren i picked up the scheps omni channel pretty much right when it was released. I have used it on just about everything. its a super great plugin. Even the presets are great it seems like its a pretty well thought out plug in. I wonder how long andrew was thinking about it in his head...... if only i could make this happen.... thanks to all! that made that plug in happen.
Hi Lauren Roberts fantastic! Yes, this is not one of those usual ‘name only’ plug ins! This really is an incredible tool! I intend to use it myself quite a lot! Cameron is a good friend and this came directly from him! He was talking it up and we were working together, so we just took 20 mins and filmed this quickly!
I'm glad you got around to looking at it. It's a great tool and the video didn't even cover the plugin insert or granular controls. I use it often and even when it isn't on the final mix (or fully on it), it's a great starting point to figure out what I want to do with all of the controls in front of me. There's a large number of interesting presets to start out with as well. Sometimes I'll end up using a different saturation, EQ or other plugin but I figured out how I wanted to use the other plugins here first.
I bought this the day it was released and all I got to say is that it's amazing. I use it on practically everything now at the track and bus level. It's the last Channel strip You'll Ever Need.
HI Warren. I purchased this plugin about a month ago. Put it in my library for safe keeping and forgot about it. Last week I needed something new and different to add "life" to my tracks. Pulled this plugin out. AMAZING! Whatever the default is...it's incredible. It gives you such a great starting point. The tracks came alive in a new a different way. Never had that kind of experience with a plugin. Most plugins lure you in and somehow let you down or don't deliver what you are hoping. This one over delivers from the first moment. So good!
Yeah guys! Been loving this plug too, the pre amp saturation is great and the the ability to so easily switch between different types of compression and eq with out loading up different plug ins is huge.
Thanks Cameron - and Warren of course - for that "real life" review! I like Waves stuff in general and I have enormous respect for Andrew Schepps. I like the guy. He's got good ears, he's a good communicator and his resume speak for itself, so... I don't know how much of his ideas went into this plugin but I'm more and more impressed with this Omni Channel. I think I'm gonna try the demo on my next mix - when I'm done recording the tracks, of course... ;-) Thanks again !!! And... have a gorgeous day. Sun just came out here, right on time! :-D
I bought this plug-in a few weeks ago when it first came out. It's really an amazing product. It does what it says on the tin! Highly recommend. Thanks again for the fantastic work Warren.
Awesome review guys!! I had a chance to demo the plugin and it did everything and more. And on the plus side you don't need to all those plugins which can use more RAM and CPU as well. Also i like that it has 3 different compressors as well. Also not to mention that you can actually other plugins to what already is there as well! I hope guys are having a wonderful day as well!!
Thanks for the quick review! I got mine the other day and so far I think it's great. One thing - he said that everything you get is what you see, but selecting the square button on top right of each strip allows a much more detailed view with lots of cool fine tuning.
With a ton of channel strip plugs already out there, this one just stands out as a real workhorse. Been using it now for a few months and i keep discovering new things i can do with it all the time. Defiantly a plugin that inspires and makes you want to create , and that's a very good thing,,,,,, just love it....Well played MR Scheps & Waves....Well played indeed..:)
If you hit the control key and sweep the eq bands, you can solo the frequency like on the desser. It's a bit of a hidden feature. This thing has become my bread and butter eq. It gets used on everything.
I'm not as good as these guys, but I bought it the first day it released for like $49 and I also Love it!! It just does SO much.....does a bit of Everything!!
Warren, it's really nice to see you doing a video on a reggae tune, even if it didn't focus on mixing techniques specifically. Reggae mixing is a lot different than rock and roll, so I'd love to see more. A+ on the Scheps Omni, I picked it up immediately.
hi warren , i love this plugin ,i got it when it first came out ,i use it all the time ,its probably my no 1 go to . it is everything you need for any track.
Great review! I just got this plugin a month ago. Love it on vocals and bass but I've gotta try it on drums. That review really opened my mind to using this plugin more radically. Cheers!
That is a cool plugin. I've messed around with it a bit. Another great one is the Butch Vig plugin from Waves. You can put that thing on pretty much aything as well. It's pretty awesome .I use that one all the time too.
An idea for a future video for you. I was flipping through you "top 5" videos and I noticed you don't have one for your "top 5 fav plugins" least I didn't see one in there. It would probably be hard to narrow it down to 5 as your fav. But it would be interestng to see what your 5 fav's are. Secondly thank you on the advice you gave me a few weeks ago when I asked you about the Eosis Air EQ. I purchased it and it's on my Master bus permanently. I love that thing. One of the best eq's I've bought. I mix a lot of hard rock/ heavy metal, Mostly my own stuff for now but I've always had a hard time getting the right high end and fullness in my mixes and that eq has helped a lot. So thank you very much Warren. You're a gentleman and a Scholar!
Hi Scott, thanks ever so much for your great comment! So glad to be able to help my friend! I really appreciate all of your great comments and the amazing input you have to our community!
That track isn't Jungle but reminds me of Congo Natty. I'm definitely picking this up to add to my collection. I was in the same boat as you. I've been waiting for someone to do a decent review of this plugin. Really nice.
When I first got the Omni Channel I did a mix using only the omni channel to learn it. I was really excited about the de-essers and being able to use it on any frequency. I wound up overusing the new de-essing on taming low and mid-range frequencies and when you do that it makes things sit back in the mix. Overall I liked many parts of the tool especially the saturation. I didn't like the limiter at all. Some of the pre-sets were great!
waited and waited... from $49 to $149 to $69 and suddenly yesterday $29!!! bought it straight away!! (the only time it will get cheaper is if it shows up in my personal daily deals which is so hard to get)
Yes I’m using this plugin and I love it... I got it for $49.... My question to you is I’ve been subscribing to Slate digital everything bundle which I also love but this Scheps plugin seems to be my go to... should I sack the Slate?.....HELP...!!!!
Aw shucks Steven makes amazing stuff!! You know me I love using a huge range of plug ins! I suggest using this and see what it does or doesn't replace!
Hi Warren and Cameron, I bought it too today... I,m very happy with the functions on it, ofcourse I have the SSL too of Waves, but options are Always welcome....:) Maybe you could check out Hornet plugins, I bought some stuff of them and I really liked the Hornet tape plugin and that owner is a really humble guy too, just like for example Klanghelm... Just do your own research on it, and see if you like it yourself, but im sure you pros do...;) Keep up the great work over there!!!!! Cheers, Jeroen.
Agreed on Hornet plugins. They are surprisingly good, easy on CPU and very inexpensive. The SW34EQ is my favorite way to add low CPU console saturation to tracks that just need a little something to bring them forward.
Hi Warren, thanks for all the great videos. I know that you use a lot of Waves plugins. They seem to have the biggest selection of plug-ins of any company out there. For those of us that don’t have zillions of dollars, would you do a video sometime of your favorite Waves plug-ins and why you like them? Thanks a bunch.
Généralement je ne suis pas attiré par les plugins avec trop de boutons façon grosse usine mais dans ce cas précis ça donne envie de l'acheter la fonction saturation est démentielle 👍🏾
I haven't either but the concept of their stuff seems interesting, would love to see what you think about them if you ever get your hands on them www.sonible.com
Thanks Warren - Cool review! The insert feature is pretty cool too, btw - you can insert any other Waves plugin you have into your chain inside the WOC. I got the plugin when it first came out & decided I liked it so much I would do an entire mix using only the Omni Channel. I did use some other reverb and delay plugins, but for pretty much everything (including the master buss) I used the Omni Channel: Here's a link to that mix: www.dropbox.com/s/eez0mb4uwu3fvh0/Falling%20Apart%20Mix%201.mp3?dl=0
Yeah....I'm really surprised he forgot to mention that. Look to the right where it says, "insert," that's because you can bring other Waves plugins into the Omni channel
Hi David Belcher thanks for the comment! I asked Cameron to open up the plug in and explain how he used it on the mix he did on his lap top. It was a real world look at the plug in, also he hadn’t delved in further yet and frankly may never! All of us use our tools differently! If there’s others who use it I might get their feedback as well!
Hi Michael, sounds interesting, quite different though! The Scheps is definitely more about the saturation characteristics, deesser etc, more of an analog modeller. The Eventide looks great for it's Micro Shift and Delay features!
@@Producelikeapro easy bud-it wasn’t intended to be a slight. I figured, you know, we’re all really into audio if we’re watching this video…did anyone hear what I heard. You assumed and you are the ass- congrats! 🎈
This is not more than a merchandising video, sorry. You didn't show anything at the end. Two deessers is good, but don't make much sense in series. I need them at different stages of the chain! Please make a new video and show us some a/b with and without the plugin on some audio and not this turn knobs here and there and say wow all the time. Sadly
Hi Marek Voosen thanks for your comment! I just watched the video again for a refresher! I didn’t say wow once! There is lots of additional things the plug in does that weren’t be used on this mix. Haha maybe it went it fast for you? I apologise if so. In the moment I could hear all of the changes, that might not be as apparent here. For me I do not gravitate towards the technical only reviews by people who don’t use plugins for their careers. When someone like Cameron gets excited about something and wants to show me it I too get excited as I know he’s used it and created great music with it! I understand that may not be your preference, however for me a ‘professional’ review by an ‘expert’ who doesn’t actually make a living doing music is not what I personally like! I like these kinds of things with a guy like Cameron who is working every day. Remember this was an actual mix of a commercially released song, so far I have not seen a single review that does that, just paid content. Have a marvellous time recording!
How is this merchandising? This is obviously the exact opposite Marek! When you watch the paid for videos they talk about it technically because they are using the manufacturers specs. This video is a guy who just mixed a sing using the plug in showing you how he used it.
Produce Like A Pro I follow your channel and really like your stuff, but this wasn't the best one for me to show the plugin. I'd like to see and hear more about it, but that's where it's stops all the time for me. But that's just my opinion. And great, awesome, love it are just synonyms for wow. Go on with your great work in full respect.
Darlene Sheffield merchandise is wrong, you're right. I'd like to hear more of it on different signals. Warren asked also for it all the time, but it didn't really happen.
Marek Voosen no problem my friend! I trust Cameron and his ears! So for me this was an amazing opportunity to do a video with a real song! The other videos have only touched on the technical and that doesn’t show me whether it actually sounds good or not! Haha all I can say is it sounds great! Frankly that’s the main for me! Does it sound Good is far more important to me than a huge feature set that doesn’t good! If Cameron had used it for other purposes then I could talked about that, however I kept it to real life experience. Thanks for taking the time to respond! I really appreciate your time!
I am truly amazed. I can see it becoming one of the most useful plugins I have. The price really blew me away. Thanks Mr. Sheps for creating this awesome plugin and Warren for sharing as you do so very well. Much appreciated.
Wow! That's amazing to hear Richard!

Hi Lem Meador thanks ever so much for your fantastic insight!! I trust your opinion massively! You’re one of the best my friend! Great member of the Audio community!!
You can also use the insert section to add other Wave's plugins into the Omni Channel.
Great question Rave! I'm not sure! Will have to see if we can find out!
yes you can. theres an addititional insert at the end of the chain for another waves plugin of your choice. obviously of whats in your collection
Fantastic Ryan! I appreciate the insight! That's really helpful! You Rock!
Yes - that's the thing I missed in this video.
Hi Gerhard Binkele that’s good to know you already knew it! We didn’t! Haha I asked Cameron to show us how he used it on an actual mic after he raves about it! I personally prefer real reviews using the equipment over the paid for esoteric description videos! Have a marvellous time recording!

Great review of a great plug in! Thanks Cameron!
Only $49?? Amazing
Amazing plug in! Game changer at only $49!
Thanks ever so much Darlene!
Agreed Apple! Only $49, is a great price!

Fantastic Hugh!! Great to hear your experiences!

Hi Claudius, thanks for the great comment! Yes, I'm very impressed with Andrew's plug in!
You're gonna want to buy it.....like Cameron said, you will use it so much you will "have" to buy it
David Belcher that’s very cool!!
This plug is dynamite! Best $50 spent ever. You could do a whole mix with it.
Fantastic! My gut is what it was designed for!
I bought this plug-in a few weeks ago when it first came out. It's really an amazing product. It does what it says on the tin! Highly recommend.
Thanks again for the fantastic work Warren.
Wow! That's wonderful to hear Justin!
Cameron mixes amazingly well! This plug in is a game changer!
Agreed Harmony! Cameron is the man!
All the presets in it really add to the value as they are quick places to start.
I agree! Fantastic stuff!
Thanks ever so much Joseph! You Rock!
Thanks for the quick review! I got mine the other day and so far I think it's great. One thing - he said that everything you get is what you see, but selecting the square button on top right of each strip allows a much more detailed view with lots of cool fine tuning.
Hi Rummagin' Ray fantastic! Thanks ever so much for the great additional information!!
Thank you Cameron and Warren!
Thanks ever so much Mia!
Looks like a great plugin. Thanks for the review Warren and Cameron
Thanks ver so much! Yes, Cameron rules!
Yes he does and so do you! Thanks a lot for posting the Cameron Webb's Drum Recording Setup video in the Academy. Awesome stuff! You guys Rock!
You're very welcome! Yes, I'm proud of that drum video! It's the kind of additional info that I love to be able to give Academy Members!
Great review of a great plug in! Thanks Cameron!
Thanks ever so much Darlene!
BTW, I grabbed the Omni Channel when it first came out (For $49). I find myself using it on just about everything. Very handy plugin.
That's fantastic to hear Studiodude1!
I totally use this. It's my Buss channel plugin, Lows, Music, Strings, FX - cause it does it all.
Wow!! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Got this plugin about a month ago, and I totally love it. It is so easy to use, and it sounds great.
The perfect plugin for hiphop samples.Thank Mr. Scheps
I really like it, I use it on everything :D And it doesn't take a lot of cpu. Big thumbs up for the price!!
Thanks for the insight Jean-François! Agreed still only $49! bit.ly/2GgbkGd
Thanks yu guys for talking about my country music and one of legendary from Jamaica music
You're very welcome Dilla!! Yes, I love Reggae!
Produce Like A Pro how to see some course on reggae
Hi Dilla, yes, that's an amazing idea!
I'm not as good as these guys, but I bought it the first day it released for like $49 and I also Love it!! It just does SO much.....does a bit of Everything!!
Fantastic David! Thanks for the marvellous comment!
Warren, you're still a kid! love it !
Warren, it's really nice to see you doing a video on a reggae tune, even if it didn't focus on mixing techniques specifically. Reggae mixing is a lot different than rock and roll, so I'd love to see more. A+ on the Scheps Omni, I picked it up immediately.
Hi Alan Makranczy that’s wonderful to hear!! So glad to be able to help in any way I can!
hi warren , i love this plugin ,i got it when it first came out ,i use it all the time ,its probably my no 1 go to . it is everything you need for any track.
Hi Darren, fantastic! Thanks ever so much for your great comment!
I think there is still a special on this, I purchased mine for $49.00 at Sweetwater. This plug-in is great on background vocals.
Yes Zorro! It's an all around great plugin!
Great honest review! This plugin looks and sounds amazing!
Hi Eric Gonzalez thanks ever so much!
This plugin is insane, especially for the price.
Hi Stev0theBohunk yes, I’m very impressed!
Great review! I just got this plugin a month ago. Love it on vocals and bass but I've gotta try it on drums. That review really opened my mind to using this plugin more radically. Cheers!
This is going to get A LOT of use on my mixes!
Me too Spitfire!
Warren looks a little bit skeptical about the Plug in and Cameron happy, like a kid with a new toy. Nice video!
Sounds good being able to move things (panels) closer together, and use of more than one d-esser. Quicker to alt back and forth through controls. ;)
Hi Audrey Sims yes, I was very impressed with the plug in to say the least!
On sale for $49 right now. I bought it the day it came out.
Great to hear Scott!
Congratulations, there are many first-rate producers
Thanks Lazaro!
That is a cool plugin. I've messed around with it a bit. Another great one is the Butch Vig plugin from Waves. You can put that thing on pretty much aything as well. It's pretty awesome .I use that one all the time too.
Thanks ever so much Scott for sharing your experience!
An idea for a future video for you. I was flipping through you "top 5" videos and I noticed you don't have one for your "top 5 fav plugins" least I didn't see one in there. It would probably be hard to narrow it down to 5 as your fav. But it would be interestng to see what your 5 fav's are.

Hi Joe Maday thanks ever so much my friend! Yes, I wanted to show someone who actually used it! Cameron was very generous with his time and talents!
Sorry about off topic but what is that (white box) on top of the Marshall amp head to the right of the screen? (over Warrens head).
Haha I don't know Loren! I wish I did! Cameron?
An awesome and very musical plugin! The bass sounds like it’s a Yamaha CS01. THE reggae synth bass no1. :)
Nice! Thanks for the tip! Yes, the CS01!
The Plapington Huart Tutorials........................from now on we can refer to warren as "Plappy" thanks again great plug in
Hahaha Plappy!!
Hi JR! Wow! That is an amazing piece of history! It's wonderful studio! Great work my friend!
got this the other week in the sale and started using it really impressed
Andrew Scheps is the Gandalf of the mixing world. A wizard.
I had a feeling this was going to be the bee's knees.
Hi Frederick, Haha indeed!
When I first got the Omni Channel I did a mix using only the omni channel to learn it. I was really excited about the de-essers and being able to use it on any frequency. Oh I'm getting this -- $49? Sheeeet!
Hi Billy! Yes! Only $49!! bit.ly/2GgbkGd
waited and waited... from $49 to $149 to $69 and suddenly yesterday $29!!! bought it straight away!! (the only time it will get cheaper is if it shows up in my personal daily deals which is so hard to get)
Great plugin one I use on almost every track
Great stuff!

I know Apple! Great deal!

art and part....;) I hope...:)
Nice! Haha Agreed!
Hi randy w yes indeed! I will do! Thanks for the great comment my friend!
As a Logic Pro user, isn't this basically the same thing as the Phat FX stock plugin?
It doesn't have a fancy spectrum analyzer which makes me use my ears instead of looking at my screen. End result is better mixing!
Haha yes indeed Steven! Very true my friend!
Way Cool....your the Best
Shuzies aw shucks thanks ever so much Ron!!
uir
Is this song going to be a course for us
Aha great idea Dilla!
Généralement je ne suis pas attiré par les plugins avec trop de boutons façon grosse usine mais dans ce cas précis ça donne envie de l'acheter la fonction saturation est démentielle 👍🏾
Je suis d'accord. La saturation semble incroyable!
Replying in French! Warren, you're a class act. Merci pour cette vidéo !
noisesoundtonevibe vous êtes très bienvenu mon ami
madd caddes! no way.... band i played in many years ago supported them at the garage in glasgow.
Have you ever looked at the sonible stuff?
I haven't! Should I check it out?
I haven't either but the concept of their stuff seems interesting, would love to see what you think about them if you ever get your hands on them www.sonible.com
tá mé Gavin ok great! Thanks for letting me know
Another great vid.
Does it have presets for commonly used instruments?
Yes, plenty!
the was awesome warren..
Thanks Andrew! Yes, I hadn't used it, so I only got Cameron's incredible view of the plug in! A real life view of what it can do!
I don't like the gate/expander, the rest is gold!
Very similar to the Eventide UltraChannel
I'll have to try that Michael!
Michael Taylor is that different from the Eventide Omni Channel that Pascal is mentioning above? Or did they get the name wrong?
Omnipressor is a dynamics plugin. The Ultrachannel is an eq, compressor, Opressor, gate, micro pitch shift, stereo delay all in one.
Hi Michael, sounds interesting, quite different though! The Scheps is definitely more about the saturation characteristics, deesser etc, more of an analog modeller. The Eventide looks great for it's Micro Shift and Delay features!
Best $29 ever spent
It’s pretty amazing isn’t it!!
@@Producelikeapro Yep - love that 9 times out of 10 its the only thing you need (apart from sends). 2 full range DS is brilliant.
I got it for $29 on a flash deal... :)
All its missing is reverb and delay
You can insert other plugins on this plugin
anybody else hear the vocal bleed into the drum mics at 3:49? lol
Yes, that’s very common and completely normal. Why would that be funny? I assume you’ve never recorded a live band in a room before?
@@Producelikeapro easy bud-it wasn’t intended to be a slight. I figured, you know, we’re all really into audio if we’re watching this video…did anyone hear what I heard. You assumed and you are the ass- congrats! 🎈
Highlight this one so your other viewers can see your personality a bit more.
Get it cheaper at Every Plugin
Do you think my man dyes his hair?
Eventide Omnichannel is better...
Hi Pascal Clerotte I haven’t tried it! Can you list the features, sound etc that makes it superior? Many thanks Warren
