    I think back in the 70s they expect most guys to shave every day, so there was no need to build the razor to not clog.

      Some guys have to shave everyday. Some guys can play it both ways. For me it keeps my skin looking nice and young 😂

    I do love the Atra and the G2 and the Sensor (my first razor, too), but the blades don't last as long as the Fusions. Still, shaving like it's 1985 is so much fun.

    I started shaving 🪒 with the Gillette Good News Plus! I loved those razors, my dad shaved with them as well. He used Original Barbasol and to finish his shave he would close it out with Aqua Velva. Have a good week brah! 🤙🏾

    You can buy a new Atra Plus handle with 11 blades off ebay for $13.99. Honestly the Atra isn't a bad shaving razor at all. I really like how small the head is and how easy it is to maneuver. My Dad has the Sensor Excel which is just a better Atra. But overall they both give about equal results. The Atra Plus and Sensor Excel are very similar designs but the Sensor has a little more head articulation.

      @averageguytested  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Robert! Yes, the atra is a solid razor for sure. The sensor introduced the microfin technology (soft rubber guides for the excel) and yes the bed pivots more as you said. Both great - old school blades.

    Hi Tony, great video as always, thanks! Get yourself one of the 3 full metal Atras of ebay or so. One has the same shape like your black plastik one, it’s the first they did, and then there where 2 slighly different looking ones, the Atra Plus, one in full silver, the other with a black anodized handle. 👍🏻
    BTW: In Europe, the Atra was called Contour.
    Take care, greetings from Germany, Dan.

    You know when I was younger around 6 years old I would always see my dad on Sunday mornings when it was he's day off from work he would brush his teeth and etc but I would also see him shave 🪒 and leave the goatee on but the razor 🪒 that he was shaving with on his face was with the Gillette Mach3 and the Shaving Cream he would use is the Red Gillette Foamy Regular Can and on the after shave he would use the Brut Classic Splash On the green bottle thingy lol
    Must i say those were the good ol'days seeing my dad doing his Sunday Morning Shaving 😅

    Hey, Tony, great shave with a classic Atra, which was my razor of choice in the 1980s! I agree, less is more when it comes to blades. Interestingly, Dorco takes an opposing view and says the number of blades is less important than how they're spaced. The closer placed, the less irritation. Best.
