I agree, totally - they were dead lot!! Too many old guys close to the stage. On the night, the place was packed with loads of beautiful women, totally going off, up the back of the club. Cameras were covering the band and we missed em. It's a problem with venues that run a restaurant, punters with money book early and get the best tables and seats.
Kenny Proulx from mobile Alabama and I don't get to here piano bands here right next to new Orleans they always play when Im giging so thanks for posting this stuff. its hard to find bass, drums and guiter players that can back me on that stuff. all southern rock. I need it to be unnecessary funk.........
Eddies playing on this is a lot simpler than the studio recording which is awesome as well but it's nice to see a drummer do their own thing. You got no idea how hard it is to groove like this.
It looks like a small jazz club, most of those places have an expectation of a calm audience given there's no room to dance, I'm sure folks would have been grooving at any normal venue.
The Basement is basically a dinner/show gig - we wanted no dinner and standing room only. A better mix of women in front-row would have been a better look. Dinner and funk don't mix! I'm with you Matt on this one. Best, K
So what happened to this group? I guess they didn't sign on with the devil. Really liking this funky vibe. Love the cow bell. W a l k e n would ask for more cow bell. Nice first half.
@keithatmac this sucks.. they should release the DVD of this - its a waste otherwise.. Jon would want to release it im sure - he can make money off it im sure.. and its good for the fans.. that night was great - i was there.. and all the other times hes come out :)

Punters with money may very well understand what they're seeing more than some 'beautiful women' (or beautiful men) up the back dancing.
In spite of the crowd, the performance was great and worth buying a DVD of!I wish they would have released one.
Funky as it gets. Big D Perkins is killin" it!

Love John Cleary and this band. Smokin' hot grooves and always inspiring but really STIFF white audience .

Where can I get this whole show!?
Why was this a sit-down gig? There's some very funky business going on and nowhere for people to show some proper appreciation for the groove...
Call 911! The folks in the front row are dead!
Robert Deniro on cow bell?
3 people are ridiculously CLUELESS about what good music is. lol

Jon who ??? Where does he come from ??? Unexpected, incredible, awesome ! The telecaster player and the others are the same extra terrestrials. Groove baby groove !
The gentleman with the telecaster is Derwin "Big D" Perkins. Just call him Big D. one of the more soulful guitarist in Nola of all the time.
He is from england
Guitar player rules, but the brother better git his health right.
Eddy Christmas - Drums
