    My uncle has a stick. hinged so it fits in cab. with string on one end and a weight at the bottom. he gets someone to hold the stick on what ever he's carrying drips the sting. he marked on the string every 1 foot .

    I want to learn all this and how to chain etc. I’ve been a hgv 1 driver for 15 years, only used box fridges and Curtain side trailers/roller beds. I know how to use ratchet straps but definitely need to learn new skills. I got my ADR. need to learn about low loaders and Chains

    People making mistakes causing you to have to night out are a good thing, because we get a cab cooking video... :P
    Seriously, I've got two leftover tortillas and half a red onion in the fridge: guess what I'm trying tomorrow (makes note to buy some red cheddar)... :D

    quick tip for you mate. if you get another one like that just tuck the bucket right in and the arm will come down to about the height of the cab of the digger. IF you have the keys 😉

    • @fastasfox
      @fastasfox 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel M Turner
      Just over 26 tonnes I had several buckets and a large heavy box on board...dont ask me what that was lol.

    • @chrisdavison2022
      @chrisdavison2022 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      fastasfox . The box is a 'fuel cube'. Fuel bowser in a bunded box basically. Lift the lid on it and you see the hose and pump inside.

    Which bridge was it?

    • @fastasfox
      @fastasfox 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daryl Parker
      On the A6 into matlock...there is an arch bridge and a beam bridge right behind it....the arch was a breeze but the beam was a true 15.6 inch....it would have been the easiest thing to lower the arm of the excavator and stretch it forward another 6ft this would have lowered the arm by a couple of feet. Poorly loaded and the driver did not pass on the height to me....grrrrr. Each time I do one of these jobs I learn a little ie things to take and not to take forward to the next job.

    Just get in the cab and sort it out, Make sure the safety lever is up, Start the machine unless its got a code, Then put the safety lever down, Right hand lever will lift the boom and the left lever will move the dipper arm ( one with the bucket on) in and out. If you imagine , Throttle will be on the right handside besides the seat somewhere.
    Left lever on seat Right lever
    Dipper out Main boom up
    Swing Left + Swing Right Bucket Crowd + Bucket un crowd
    Dipper In Main boom down.
    2 pedals on the floor are for moving it using the tracks, Make sure the sprockets are at the back and then the pedals will be forwards for forwards and backwards for backwards. But if the cab is the other way round then its backwards with the levers.
    If this is something you plan to do then you Need to know how to safely operate said machines and load them.
    .

      I'm going to save this for ref buddy...the only problem I had is that the cab was locked and the key was already with the customer grrrrr that arm could have sat much much lower. Cheers for the info mate very good of you.

    Look up Sergei Dratchev videos!
    He uses the Internet to look up the equipment dimensions and weights.
    From what I gather he is self taught heavy equipment operator. You should start your education.
    Is there a text on routes for unusual loads?
    Sergei has route plans he has to follow provided by the states he crosses.
