The newest version of ProTools now supports peripherals at the entry level tier of $10/mo and if you own this keyboard it’s an absolute must have. The functionality is so well integrated it brings a tear to my eye. This setup video is perfect and even included some things I didn’t even know about like tapping shift to get stereo pans working.
I love the video! I was wondering if you could make a video of using the m-audio 88 pro into ableton? I've been trying to figure it out but although I can connect it and play, the lower register for some reason doesn't work and ends up controlling some settings of ableton.
Hi, great video! I just set up my new Hammer 88 Pro. I've downloaded and authorized Velvet but can't get it to show up as a plugin in Pro Tools (2021 with Catalina). I've tried restarting Pro Tools and my iMac to no avail. Velvet does open in standalone mode. Any ideas? thank you!

Hi, I finally got Velvet to work as a plugin in Pro Tools. One other question: I bought the EX=P Expression pedal but it has no effect when plugged into the Expression jack on the Hammer 88 Pro, no matter the polarity switch position. No help from maudio. Is there other software for that pedal? Can't seem to find it anywhere. Thank you in advance!
Great Video - having some issues using it as a MIDI controller for my Yamaha MODX via USB to Device. Would welcome some help on that. And I found for Ableton to ProTools similar that to MIDI control the faders/knobs/etc, you have to enable the Mackie/HUI Hammer 88 as a MIDI device
Thanks for the review! I am glad I didn't rush into buying the normal Hammer 88. However, I have used a Korg TR-61 for many years, and I found the buttons being made of a hard material, lost the internal contact very soon. It was very annoying and also very expensive because service centers would only replace them as a set. Do you see a similar problem potentially with these controls?

Hello Douglas, I have some difficulties to parameter correctly my Hammer Pro 88 with FL-Studio, did you make some test with this daw and this keyboard ? I would like to have a Grand Piano and the MPC working in the same time (for the moment, I have piano on all the buttons), and another M-Audio Key station 61ES that I would use for other channels such as Jupiter-8 or more. This is working using the Hammer Pro selecter switching to the different channels for the 61ES, and the hammer pro keybed stays on the grand piano if I select the grand Piano receiving notes only from the midi channel Hammer Pro, ....but the MPC does not work, I hear still piano on these buttons, ....how to configure correctly this within FL Studio ?
How do you get the Metro light to stop blinking? I noticed it was blinking the whole time you showed us stuff in your video. And mine is too! It is driving me absolutely crazy! Please help!

Hello, I just bought one, and I really like the keys, can I ask you two things? Where could I see on the keyboard screen, the firmware version that I have installed? I tried to install the latest version, doing the steps, but the keyboard stays in updating mode, and the app message does not change, it keeps saying to connect the device and press "update". I press update but it won't let me, does it mean that it's already updated? Please, if you can help me, I'm worried because I don't know if my hammer is defective and I'm on time to return. I have the standard Hammer88 keyboard which doesn't prompt me to download the software manager. I can't figure out how to get mini grand or any of the other downloads to work. I just want to be able to hear my keyboard make noise... any advice?

How about a tutorial for setting this controller up with Reason 11? Cannot get the transport controls to work(mistakenly thought this keyboard had automap functionality...but actually,my Reason DAW does not even recognize this keyboard.) Thinking about returning it(should have stuck with Nektar keyboards.
@@DSoundman Yes I did....but I still couldn't get the transport controls to work.It's all very glitchy...as sometimes the keyboard will disconnect & nothing works & I either have to restart or reconnect,under the preferences tab.Perhaps one day,Reason will get around to including this midi controller into their auto-detect list and it will finally work.Thanks for trying to help.

Please tell me what is the usage of 9th slider (or fader) on this keyboard. I have oxygen pro 49. But the 9th slider of this keyboard does not change anything on logic pro.. Thank you.
Haha, to be honest, I'm not sure! When it comes to DAW control, I've not seen the 9th slider used for anything. Maybe it's used for the master volume when using virtual instrument presets? I'll give it a shot next time I play.
That's correct, if you want to use Pro Tools as you're DAW, you'll need the full version to get the support for the DAW controls on the Hammer 88 Pro. It's how AVID works...their "light" version of Pro Tools has some limits.
Anyone tried this keyboard with reaper or mpc beats? I switch the daw preset to reaper or mpc and the keyboard works fine as an instrument but none of the daw controls Work like record play stop etc.
I'm using the controller with Ableton Live and I'm having some hard time using the daw modes (Rec/Select/Mute/Solo/Midi) even if i switch between them the result is always an armed track (on/off). If someone has a solution to this problem I would really appreciate
@@ikeysokol5017 You have to change the type of message for each button/fader/Knob. Whit the encoder you can choose different type of message like CC/Mackie/Mackie/HUI, try with Mackie or Mackie/HUI, than it should work. Anyways I don't have the product anymore since this keyboard in my opinion has a terrible software and the hardware isn't that great either....

Thanks! I'm not sure, but it wouldn't hurt to try! Most times software companies let you use software on a couple different devices.

There is a free version of Pro Tool coming with it? Can it be upgraded with a higher version too?
What about the remaining softwares i.e. Vacuum, Boom and DB-33? Aren't those also supposed to come included? I can't seem to find those two. Thanks
The remaining software is only available inside of pro tools.

The problem with me is that I connect the USB to my laptop but it doenst wanna play. It's on but I can't hear a thing.

any DAW can communicate midi signals. lol..... so basically the pro tools they give you is pretty much just to get you to buy the full version.
