WoW! I am lucky to live in an area where Black Crowned Night Herons migrate to every year -- CHICAGO! I have been having a lot of fun watching them fish at The North Pond Sanctuary. This is a terrific video. Thanks for posting!
Thanks. They are pretty elusive here too but some are used to people. I have had them hunting gophers and I have to be much more careful because they are pretty nervous. I saw one eating a gopher once and a handful hunting them but I will always look for the opportunity of these guys catching a gopher. It is big game hunting for them for sure.
Thanks. He really gave me some great shots at his interesting steps. It ended up being a bit dark. I always add some light because I record it a little darker but I ended up with the lighting being about what it was in real life. With more light his eyes would have been really red.

Thanks. When I think of stealth, I think of this bird. My wife and I were in Chicago last fall for vacation. We love the architecture there.
