    In 2019 I walking a little part of Del norte, after the Lebaniego, Vadiniense, San salvador and finally the Primitivo. It was challenging, but the best caminos ever! ❤️

    This video came at the perfect time! I’m planning to walk this route later this year (along with the Primitivo). I can’t wait:)
    Thank you for all your wonderful and informative videos!!!

      I'm so glad! The San Salvador/Primitivo combo I think is among the best. As you continue to plan, let me know if you have any questions!

    I did this Camino in the year after you, inspired by your blog post! It was so beautiful, I absolutely loved it. More remote but very special. Thanks for all you sharing of information, you do inspire my Camino choices 😊

      Oh thank you Liz! And I really agree... remote, but so special (and this is the one that made me realize I would be okay walking completely on my own). I'm hoping to do a lot more 'Camino-ing' this year (fingers crossed!!) so stay tuned! :)

    Hi Nadine, thank you again for sharing your knowledge and enjoyment! I'm just back from two weeks on the Camino Mozarabe. The Salvador will be my next Camino. Because I am a big rower (105 kgs) and 66 years old my plan is to take 7 or maybe even 8 days. We'll see how it goes, thank you again!

      I think stretching out those middle mountain stages is a good plan! It's such a beautiful Camino and will be worth it to do some shorter stages, if you have the time. Buen Camino!

    Hi Nadine, I am planning to walk the San Salvador and the Primitivo in August 2023. I have done the Frances to Finisterre(2021) and the Portuguese Coastal (2022). Did you do this alone and at any time did you ever feel unsafe. I have done both alone, I am 62 and very active. Thanks for your help. Karen

    Hey, Nadine...love your video. I am thinking about starting Burgos to Leon to Olviedo then Santiago on the Primativo. First camino, 40+, done sections week long of the Colorado trail.. Any advice?

    • @NadineWalks
      @NadineWalks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Robert- this sounds like a fabulous Camino! You can get your legs warmed up on the Meseta (between Burgos and Leon) with some easy walking, and then head into a very different landscape on the San Salvador. If you’ve walked sections of the Colorado Trail you’ll be fine on the Camino! The only potential downside of your route would be that you might find a nice group of friends on the Francés and then have to leave them when you get to Leon. There’s really something to be said about the flow and familiarity that develops when you stay on one route. But personally I also really love jumping around (I met so, so many great people on this year’s Camino!) In any case, I’m sure you’re going to have an amazing time!

      Just under the video is a description, just click 'show more' and the box will expand and the links are there!
      If you're interested in seeing daily videos from the San Salvador, I walked this summer and posted a video every day: th-cam.com/play/PLYuyzT3VDG9mfA0m274xxKJJAFpXHnSWe.html

    Hi Nadine, another top video - while I was thinking of doing my Leon - Santiago this year on the conventional route, this looks like an interesting option where chasing beds, especially with my fractured Spanish, could be a less stressful option.

    • @NadineWalks
      @NadineWalks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it could be a really amazing option... with two of the most beautiful stages of any Camino (well, I haven't done them all yet, so maybe too soon to make a statement like that...) As long as you would be okay with a much more quiet and isolated route, then I would recommend looking into it!

    You keep referring to "camino routes"....camino is the Spanish for route/trail/track so what you are saying is "route route."

    Nadine...if its not the most beautiful...which camino is? Thank you

    • @NadineWalks
      @NadineWalks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, that’s tough. Maybe parts of the Norte and/or Primitivo. Or maybe this one wins!

    Nadine Do we need a seperate pilgrim passport for the San Salvador?

    • @NadineWalks
      @NadineWalks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope! The same pilgrim passport/credential you'd use on any Camino will work on the San Salvador! (at the end of the walk you can get a special certificate (Compostela) in the cathedral, which I definitely recommend!)

  • @MsBysonhead

    Hi there, great video, thank you. Where can I get the credentials? D :)

    • @NadineWalks
      @NadineWalks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you can get a credential for the San Salvador at most albergues in Leon. If the albergue where you're staying doesn't have it, you can ask for where you might be able to find one. I stayed in a hotel room the night before I started this Camino, but I just went to an albergue to ask about the credential, and I was able to get one. Good luck!

    Another option to link caminos is (that's the one I'll do next): Camino Lebaniego - > Camino Vanidiense - > Mansilla de las Mulas - > Léon - > Camino de San Salvador - > Camino Primitivo - > Melide - > Camino Frances until Santiago

    • @NadineWalks
      @NadineWalks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the Lebaniego/Vanidiense on my possible list for this summer's walk... I didn't end up doing them, but at some point I really want to! All together that would be an incredible walk!
