I just got this perfume last night & my husband can’t get enough of it! Why do I say this? Bc my husband really doesn’t compliment most of my fragrances but he absolutely loved this. I also wore it this morning. My whole family complimented me - that’s RARE! This perfume isn’t something I would say “OH MY GOSH IT’S BEAUTIFUL!” But I would say it’s very pretty. It’s feminine and soft. Yes, I do smell the saltiness after an hour or so. It doesn’t last long on my skin (most fragrances doesn’t) - I’ve already topped it four hours later but that’s okay bc I do like switching my fragrances during the day. Would I buy this full price? No but thankfully I bought it for only $25. on Mercari. It’s definitely gonna be one of my few summer or indoor scents.
Paco Rabanne Olympea is one of my most worn perfumes this summer. I also enjoy the flankers Legend (very syrupy), Aqua (pretty and airy) and of course the Intense version, which is probably my favorite and which I wear year-round. The salt smell is always there and never cloying at all on my skin.
It’s so strange how different our experiences can be… I get primarily all salt and almost nothing else! I like salty fragrances but this one is waaaaay too salty even for me. It almost smells like black pepper which is strange… it reminds me of this intense black pepper note I get from Bath & Body Works scent In The Stars which is a note I despise. Not sure why my nose picks it up so strongly!
I have a sample of this and at first I hated it, I don't know why, there was something sharp about it but when it dries down it's so pretty. I just wish it lasted longer than 2 or 3 hours on me, that's the only thing that keeps me from buying it.
I bought a bottle off fragrance net. Did anyone else find the alcohol to be very strong at first but also hard to smell the scent notes and then dries down quite strong? Not a bad scent just strong and muted at the same time, very strange
I have tried it, it was nice, but l wouldn't pay that much money for that, but l was able to get a dupe for it in the UK from the Superdrug store and it was £7.00 only, it is lighter more citrusy version of it and it's good one
On me, Olympéa is a very long lasting scent that takes hours to fully dry down to a salty, marine accord with vanilla. But it takes between 2-4hours for the saltiness to really come out. I get 10-12 hours wear time on my skin and over 24 hours on clothing.
@@SweetSensation92That's terrible. The one I have lasts long, too. It's such an interesting scent that lasts almost the whole day. I take off my clothes at night and can still clearly smell it. I love this unique scent.
I was only able to get my hands on a sample of the Intense version and wrote "ice cream on the pier with a pool toy" in my notes. Interesting, but not something I will wear. I want more salt as well.
Yeah i wasnt a big fan of Olympea either. I really wanted to like it and gave multiple tries in hopes I'd change my mind, but i just didnt care for the saltiness. And the other issue was I had a hard time smelling it in the first place. It just seemed so muted to my nose. I also really disliked Olympea Intense. (I did buy the sample through Frangrance net so its always possible it had gone off. I had that happen with Hermes Merveilles Elixir when i got it from there.) But from the notes that are in it I assumed I'd love it! Unfortunately i just got this weird sweet tarts smell. I couldnt stand it. I actually had to wash it off both times i attempted to wear it. It just smelled synthetic. But like i said maybe it was off. Because i dont know how a vanilla and amber scent could be that bad and odd smelling.
I get exactly what you get, nice, salty touch, nothing special or notably worth the purchase for me..nice but just mehhr. Amazing how it varies on people.. keep up the great reviews
I blind buy this. When I got it and tested it I didn't like the smell. fast forward to more than a year. Tried it on my skin waited for a bit the dry down smells good to me like it's fresh. The smell is not unique but still smells nice. Happy I didn't give it away.
I own both the intense and the aqua version which I like more than the original edp. In both the salty note is present but not the most prominent note. 🤗
definitely need to get a tester of this, I've been curious it! Maybe kind of similar - I recently tried "For Zoe" by Nino Amaddeo, which is a more aquatic, refreshing take on a beachy fragrance. You might like it! It has a subtle salt quality, from the sea notes, and also includes jasmine, rose, and solar notes in the mid. The base is a beautiful mix of vanilla, tonka beans, musk and patchouli. I'm thinking of getting a full bottle for these super hot summer days. Also, it layers really well with more traditional beachy scents too.
I am borrowing this from my mom. On me I get lots of salt, seaweed, florals and sweet vanilla. Overall it doesn’t smell that good to me. Must be ambergris there. That note always has this weird seaweed smell. A bit weird. Somehow that combo just doesn’t work. Lancome Idole Aura is a better floral salt vanilla perfume.
The original is just too basic. I much prefer the Intense and I love the Aqua Legere edp, as they both have the same vanilla accord and it's so much better than the original.
Bit if a late comment, just can't believe how different perfumes smell to different people and on different people. On me Olympea is soooo salty, the vanilla and any other notes are completely overwhelmed by salt, heavy strong salt. I want to like it, I do kind of like it, but because its so salty it can be a bit much
I don't get a lot of salt in it either, even on my skin. This didn't do it for me sadly. I actually bought 2 separate samples because I wanted to love it SO BAD!
I was never head over heels about this one. But once I wore it at night to a restaurant on the seaside… and it was just perfect 😍

Great deal! Glad you and your husband enjoy it! :D
Wow, very interesting that the salt varies that much. On my skin it is very prominent!
To me it’s salty flowers, from beginning till the end, no vanilla, no coconut, just flowers and salt. But I love it ☺️

One of my favorites - get lots of compliments

Have you tried Salt by Ellis Brooklyn? Top notes Ylang-Ylang and violet leaves; middle Tiare and magnolia; base ambergris, musk and sandalwood.
Not yet...but it sounds awesome!
I love the way you speak ❤️
I absolutely adore this one on my skin. The salt makes the mandarins vey nice.

Oh wow! I wish I got out the same on my skin, but glad to hear you enjoy it :D
Probably you've got the old version. Now, it's reformulated and it lasts around 1-2hours. So bad.

I have the Aqua legere EDP version oh my days it's gorgeous! :)
This is my favorite version! It's so stunning! The Intense version is 2nd favorite and they both have the same vanilla accord.
Me too, I got sweet on my skin
I have mines but I don’t know if i like it

Thanks for the suggestion Kate :D

I'm not sure how much I like salt scents. I'm still trying to decide, lol.
I just received Olympea Intense...after having a sample and loving it....Oddly enough....I really disliked the original !!

Hello there good morning Nice to see you again
Morning Brigitte! :D
For winter?
I think you also like Idole Aura, which is also a salty vanilla perfume (judging by the notes)! :-)
My nose isn't picking up the salt note. For me it's sweet floral.
The Intense one is more salty.
Way to salty ....dipping into salt
Very nice fragrance!!
Tried it yesterday and dear God it smelled like urine almost immediately when I sprayed it 😖
I love it,yes definetly the salt is there.👍
Sorry, I can't speak English, is it used for men?
almost like a salty caramel 👃🏽🌞
Too much salt in this for my taste.
Ce n’est absolument pas mon type de parfum . Il sent bon mais je l’achèterais pas
